The Trial is over, and Adie and the guys won, but at what cost? Victor Hesse is still out there, and now the high-council’s guard dogs are sniffing around in the name of protecting them from the demon’s revenge. Will Adie’s friends and loved ones be safe under the council’s watch, or will everything she’s worked so hard to achieve come undone?
Part 1 of Succubus Undone.
Join Adie on her (mis)adventures toward achieving a quasi-normal life among humans.
Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
Guarded is the first book in L.L. Frost’s new story arc of Adie’s Succubus Harem serial. Viktor is on the run, the counsel is looking for him, and for now, things are quiet and at peace. But for how long will things last? Things are progressing with her new neighbor in connection to Tac’s whelps, and Adie is happy with her men. But the ever presence of the counsel’s slag demons is a constant reminder that danger is somewhere out there…watching, waiting, and biding its time before it strikes again. Guarded really gives readers a glimpse into the potential future…or what could be if there was no danger to haunt and stalk Adie. If Adie was able to live a normal life with her demons and loved ones without fear. I have to say that I snickered quite a bit at Adie’s expense in this book. Jesse is really pushing boundaries and giving new meaning to “give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.” Of course, I thought of it in a way as karma when Adie wants to push the boundaries with her demons and flex herself. I love how things are continuing to develop in this story. The author builds the anticipation and makes me eager for more. As to be expected the good times don’t last always. I’m a bit disappointed with how things take a turn in this book though. It’s too predictable, because it’s the expected route and you see it coming the minute Adie walks out the door. I also want Adie to take responsibility for the destruction of the guys' car. It was in her possession after all. Whether she was physically in it or not, she had claimed it...soooo…yeah. My other issue with this book is there are some editorial issues. There is one big one that made me stop and reread the sentence because it didn’t make sense. On page 58 – “It’s doubtful we’ll what’s left tonight, and the old cupcakes usually go home with the imps.” There are a couple of other minor errors “he” instead of “she” on page 13 - “Her expression turns crafty as he eyes me.” Then on page 18 – “She’s a cautious caretaker, but she’s thrawing a little…” “Thrawing” should be “thawing.” I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. The storyline is good, but I feel that a couple of the errors could have been caught and edited out if there had been a more thorough read through slowly. I loved that we get so much more of Tac and that we get a nice dose of his whelps as well. While the ending is predictable and not much of a cliffhanger, I’m still eager to learn what happens next.
Adie has been cleared of Domnall's disappearance but Victor Hesse is still on the loose. The Council has assigned guards to watch over any and all places that Victor may reappear including Adie's bakery and her home with her demons. Still, Victor outplayed the council once, there's a chance he can again.
So much to take in. I love the continuing stories of Tac as a father and of course, the imps. The feathers added an unexpected twist that could play out big in the future. The future...the reaction of Emil to their future made me insanely curious and of course, if the present danger isn't dealt with Adie will have no future. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to squeal/groan at that ending. What a good start to the new story arc!
This book was so sweet and lovely. Adie is all happy with her demons and things seem to finally be going well. She’s even thinking of the future with her personal and business lives. But this is Adeline Boo Pond we’re dealing with. And nothing can go smoothly in her life for long. So yep, sweet and lovely until the very end. And that’s just sad.
OMMFG I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT 📚!!!!! Noooooooooo that did not just happen??!! I should have known that with the luck Addie has thing's will soon fall to crap!! Y'all will definitely 💘the beginning and get ready for that ending. Please hurry with the next 📚.
I thought the hook into the Trial was good, but this! Oh. My. Gods. What... What just happened? Did that just happen!?!? Oh, Adie, I hurt for you. I'm really hoping you, Emil, Kellen, and Tobias survive this story arc, because that was just brutal! And yet, with demons of destruction, witches, imps, and upper demons in the mix, maybe they'll come out on top??
Great story, I love how each book builds off the last. Especially since there are multiple points where the story could have ended, but I am grateful that the author chose to continue this series.
So this is a good start to the next arc of the story - things are calm and everything seems to be going as planned but we all know it won't last. It was a quick read and the last two paragraphs had be begging to know what happens next!
Things seem like they’re settling down…..it’s a TRAP
Everything seems to be going well in Adie’s world, her relationships at home are great, she’s good with her cousins and imps and is thinking go about even expanding the bakery. Everything looks great……until the end.
Another amazing serial. That ending has me on the edge of my seat with the need to know what comes next! I love Addie and her guys. Can’t wait for more.
Why would you put your guard down from all place why now you gonna have 3 strong demons looking for you and might turn the whole world upside down just looking for you
