It has begun.

A fiery, unprovoked attack. War between mages and warlocks erupts. The Order stands on the precipice of destruction, while a deadly new leader rises to fight for control of the sinister Dark Druid brotherhood.

For Jake Everton, the valiant young Earl of Griffon, and his brave band of friends, the stakes could not be higher. On their own, hunted by maleficent enemies, the kids must rely on one another (and Red the Gryphon) more than ever to survive. But evil has its eye on Jake, and the mysterious prophecy swirling over his head leaves him wondering if he really could be the one to destroy the dragon lord and his ruthless followers - or if the darkness rising on all sides will swallow him up...

Don't miss this sweeping tale of good versus evil in the next pulse-pounding installment of The Gryphon Chronicles, where the fate of the human and magical worlds alike may rest upon the courage of the roguish boy hero, his fierce pet Gryphon, and the gutsy young adventurers willing to follow him to the gates of Hades itself.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Review Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.

The Dragon Lord is another emotional and exciting instalment of The Gryphon Chronicles. With characters new and old, the book gave hope and despair in good measure. The plot was engaging but the characters and their added depths were what kept me engaged the most! I can't wait for the next book and continue to watch Jake & his friends grow on their journey. Definitely recommended!

The Dragon Lord was amazing. It was humorous and emotional. I even cried. It was exciting. It has lots of action, and leaves you with questions. I can’t wait for the next one. I really enjoyed it.

What an adventure! I have loved this series since I first started reading it with the first book! This book in my opinion maybe the best in the series so far.

From the beginning, this book draws you in and I did not want to put it down. As Jake and his friends are running from the attack that started in the previous book, The Black Fortress. They band together to keep each other safe and Jake out of the clutches of Lord Wyvern, who wants Jake to turn him into his evil son.

This book is about facing consequences to your actions, but mostly it about the power of love to save each other. They write with a perfect amount of action mixed with the humor you would expect from a Marvel movie. So, be prepared to laugh and cry and give yourself time to read this book, because you will not want to put it down.

Another great story.

I love this addition to the Gryphon Chronicles. It begins where we left off in the Black Fortress, and has lots of action and adventure as well as tells a good story. I'll admit there were some spots where I cried and laughed. Thankfully this is not the last addison to this series. If you are looking for a great middle school aged series I would definitely recommend this one.

What's so funny about peace, love, and understanding.

I started reading this series to my grandkids and just really liked everything about this story. Such a good story line and characters makes for enjoyable reading for all. I want to thank the Foleys for continuing the story of Jake and his friends. This would be a great starter series for the young readers looking for adventure, enjoy.

The adventure continues

This story upped the stakes. A face to face fight with a real dragon, a battle between the dark lord and a demons son and the gryphon and manticore fighting a battle as well as the battle between the good vs. evil.

Well worth a read if you enjoyed this series, and if you haven't started yet, you should if you enjoy YA fantasy that is witty, filled with fantastical adventures and heros you get attached to and root for.

This is the 7th book I've read of the series and usually I don't like YA or children saving the world stories but this one is done very well and the adult's are not disassociated with the children. The children are respectful and work with the adults although they have their own adventures for sure.
Very well written and I will probably be sad when I finished the series.,

5.4 stars in my insane rating system. This is very different from the others, as everything happens in two days and is a bit toned down from the last, almost. But I really like the different way it goes, and the climax sequence is amazing.

Another fun installation in the Gryphon Chronicles. I actually found myself rooting for a few of the bad guys, everyone is fleshed out. Looking forward to the next book.

I did receive a complimentary ARC; all opinions are my own and freely given.
