This book is great for designers, developers, and other professionals in and around the user experience world. I would also assert that maybe company owners, tech leads, and project managers should listen to this before making their next UX/UI position. It focuses on being productive in terms of both business and UX/UI. The author relates real life work experience into steps to take in your career to have an easy path to success as a UX professional. As a full stack developer, I feel this book does drive home some points that may help me with project management and feature management in the applications I develop. Another great part of this book is it shares strategies that teams can use to work together in a more productive way. I appreciate the author when he uses phrases and euphemisms to get his point across, such as my favorite line, “…razzle-dazzle the client, throw hookers through the window… and get them drunk approach”. Overall if you’re a designer, web designer, developer, team lead or project manager you should consider reading or listening to this book, it will not be a waste of your time either way.

As I enjoy reading buisness and career strategy books enjoyed this book. Aimed at a obviously younger generation than I am, does have good solid career advise that will be very useful. Worth the time.

I learned about the do’s and don’ts of an UX professional. I also have a better understanding of what a UX does and what to expect from one when asking questions on what they can do for me. This book wasn’t quite what I expected but I made it through it and learned a few things along the way. Thanks for the free book and best of luck in your career.

Definitely an interesting way of presenting the material and can be a very helpful reference for those either working in or working with UX designers or any sort of design/technology project where having a coherent and clear UX is critical.

*I won this book as part of a First Reads giveaway*

I'm not very tech-savvy and some of this was lost on me, and some was inferred from context, but overall it was straight forward talk about any number of positions in a business that is based on pleasing a customer and making things for pleasant for the end user. Granted, while the book is about User Experience professionals and how to learn and grow in that specific field, I think a lot of the information in this book can be applied to anybody that is looking to get the most out of their work environment. Also, this F*ck, Marry, Kill structure was very unique and kept things interesting.
