Author Coralee June has always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. She loves engaging with the projects she works on, diving headfirst into developing real, raw, and relatable characters that are equally flawed and beautiful. Coralee lives in Dallas, Tx with her husband and two daughters. She's been known to frequently indulge in boxed red wine and day-old pizza. When she's not writing, June is reading or substitute teaching at the local middle school.
I started reading another RH series by Coralee and I will admit that I stopped after book 2 because the series was starting to become "meh", however, you can really see Coralee's improvement as a writer with this series.
This was a pretty good RH. It had action, angst and lots of smut. What made this different from her 1st RH series is that she keeps the group together throughout the entire series, once they find each other, there is no separation or people trying to keep them apart for their own gain, everything they face, they face as a unit.
I would recommend this one to RH lovers out there.
What a fantastic ending to the series. I am so in love with every single one of those Bullets, and had I been in Sunshine’s position, I wouldn’t have been able to choose between them either. Fast-paced from start to finish, I couldn’t tear myself away for a minute. Coralee June is an incredible author and I will certainly be reading more of her books. Reverse Harem at its finest.
The first book was okay but I did not enjoy the rest of the series. Honestly, it was very boring and not a lot happened. The most interesting parts of the series were the flashbacks and although, I don’t mind flashbacks, I think a book can’t depend on them to hold the only interesting aspects of the series. I didn’t like any of the characters either. They all came off as immature teenagers trying to pass for adults.
I didn’t feel the connection between Sunshine and the guys. I also didn’t like how long it took them to come to terms with her dating all of them and it didn’t feel like a reverse harem at all. I get that it isn’t a conventional relationship and there should be some reservations on the relationship but the issues and jealousy the guys had within the relationship shouldn’t have worked out the easily.
I wish I could say more about this book and series but honestly, I forget a lot of it already and I just finished it. Overall, I didn’t hate this series but I didn’t really enjoy it either. So, I’m not saying don’t read it but maybe put it to the bottom of your TBR.
"The Bullets are better together." "We're better with you Sunshine."
Scorching hot with a whole cast of swoon worthy men and fiery female right smack in the middle of them all. Each relationship unique but eventually melds into a hot as all get out RH that had me fanning myself, white-knuckling my kindle from all the action and suspense, not to mention the banter from other memorable characters that was a blast to read from start to finish!! I completely inhaled it after I one-clicked after reading the Prequel in Bully Me Anthology!! It was an absolute adventure from start to finish!!
"Alone, we were just a bunch of broken pieces, begging to feel whole. But this? This was nirvana. This was what it felt like to be perfect, finally."
I loved the Bullets since the first blurb. I stalked Coralee June for all of the release dates from book 1 until this new release. The ending is very bittersweet. I missed Nix but I can't wait for his own book! I hope we'll get to see more of the Bullets in those books. I really loved this book. It was the perfect ending. Coralee has such a great writing style. I always love her books, I trust her with dark romance, and I always read her books with such enjoyment. This series is one I would recommend to a friend who doesn't know if they will enjoy dark romance but wants to try. This series is one that I will be rereading ten years from now. I will miss you Bullets! Thank you Coralee June for an amazing story!!
This book picks up six weeks after the end of Summer and Smoke. I think I needed some emotional distance from the fallout of that ending, so kudos for that. Basically everything has gone to ship, and the Bullets are split up everywhere trying to contain and rescue and save whatever they can. It's very bloody, and there are casualties. Sunshine's emotional state is getting more fragile by the day, and no one seems to really be connecting, just stuck in survival mode. Lots of stuff is going on, and they finally get some group time together. (Imagine eyebrows waggling for effect. You know what I mean). It's the end of Sunshine's trilogy, but Nix gets his book next.
As much as I enjoyed the first two books in the trilogy, I have to say - this one was slightly anti-climactic.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every single line I read but... I wish Coralee planted a bit more twists and hoops for the characters to go through. And Phoenix, OH MY DEAR GOD, Nix. He's just - everything! I can't wait for his book (or books) to come out. I seriously need to know what happened to him & how his devastatingly-doomed love story with Grace & Alessandro will develop. But hey, can you blame me? He really is all the alpha-male a woman can want - even better than Gavriel.
so its finallly lover. i have mixed feelings. on the one hand i am glad it was a trilogy, but on the other hand i am not looking forward to the next series being about Phoenix unless everyone is in it. I was hoping to see them get married or have a kid.
i also wish we had the ending in Sunshines POV overall a good book, and a page-turner. Also a thing i have to point out is i am glad this book wasnt just smut, i would say maybe 20% of the book was made up of sex scenes.
Wow is all I can say. Just kidding! Coralee did an amazing job with this last book. It was bittersweet to finally read the last book. It held up to all my expectations and more. There was so much going on but it didn’t feel rushed. She made you feel all the feels in this. The first paged pulled me in and I binged in a couple of hours. The suspense in this book is perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing and I will be recommending this to everyone and anyone that will listen. For me reading is vital. I need the shut off. I would even go as far as to say it’s my “one, two, three.” This series is so compelling and a must read!
I lied, I'm crying. Ugh this story grabbed me by my heart and DID NOT wanna let go!! I was enthralled by the first page of Sunshine & Bullets, and completely attached by the last of Love & Lead. I will be missing these characters so much, and am so grateful Phoenix is getting his own story! Until then, I'll be viciously hungover from one of my very favorite series. CoraLee, it was beautiful in every possible way. Thank you so much for all your hard work you put into these stories. Until next time 🖤
This was a dark beautiful story! So much trouble, drama, brooding, heart and heat. Sunshine was a emotional loving heroine that needed her bullets but could stand in her own.. completely recommend. And can't wait for Nix story.
It makes me a little sad writing this review because I didn't love this as much as I wanted to and as much as I was expecting to. Right off the bat, I felt a whole different tone compared to the first two books. Of course there is a gloom and doom kind of tension while Gavriel heals from his injuries but there was this weird disconnect with all of the characters both with me and with each other. The chemistry between them all wasn't hitting the right spots which was a huge disappointment because we have been building to that one moment where they all come together and it was just lackluster. I wanted more. More heat, more smut, more dark. Just more. Something that I noticed was the rushed conclusion. I wish there was no Santobello side plot. I found Sunshine's serial killer father to be WAY more terrifying. It was all anticlimactic. This series had a lot of promise, and I still recommend it to those who want a new adult, dark, reverse harem romance. I just wish this last book would have been stronger. Overall rating 3 stars Steaminess 3 stars
It’s been about two years since I read this series for the first time, and I can tell you with complete sincerity that I love it as much now as I did then.
Sunshine. She just... she just has the way about her, y’know? She’s bold and fierce and brave, but also vulnerable and anxious and scared. She is layers upon layers of all the best things in life. I absolutely adore her. And the men? The Bullets? I. Love. Them. I love them equally and understand their individual importance to not only Sunshine, but also each other.
This series is full of high stakes action and intense steam. It’s full of love. These books will always stay with me. Bullets forever.
"I’d lost her once, but I’d find her again." -Blaise
"We lash out most at the people we know can take it. Sometimes we're cruelest to those we love because we're confident that they'll see the ugliest sides of us and never leave." -Sunshine
Love & Lead by Coralee June. How is it these get better and better?!? I can't even put into words what these books mean me. So many great lines and the characters are sublime. I'm on the edge of my seat with Phoenix though... *Nail biting* More and more stars for the Bullets and their Sunshine. 🖤
"Blaise Bennett always found me, and he always would." -Sunshine
What an ending!!! You will have a rollercoaster of emotions after reading this trilogy. Every answer we had throughout the series in answered in this book. We get to see all the different sides to everyone. Their bond becomes stronger, and all the walls that have been built get torn down. Sunshine has to come to terms with many things during this book. Her strength is honestly what keeps all of them together. She doesn't let Gavriel bully and push her or anyone away. She proves to Ryker she is here to stay, and assures Blaise that everything will work out. Callum is the holdout until he truly realizes he needs all of them just as they need him. The only downfall is Nix... I missed him and am happy he gets his own story..
I feel like this trilogy could have been a better stand alone book with some further editing. I really loved the suspense & structure of the first book & the second book was enjoyable but this one felt a bit repetitive. A lot of her inner angst was the same as in the second book, I grew bored of her uncertainty about Callum most of all. It was a good ending, although not quite an ending since there’s going to be a spin-off but most elements were wrapped up well.
While I have really enjoyed the epic ride that this trilogy took me on I felt really unfulfilled with the ending. It’s not that it was bad, just seemed so abrupt. I had some issues with feeling Callum being part of the bullets. He kinda seemed like an out sider when it came to the others. This book had action, steam and moved at a decent pace but like the last book didn’t keep me hooked like the first one. I do plan to read any other books that spin off from this series because I need Nix’s story and hope there isn’t a long wait. 4 stars #2OCCJD
The third and final installment of The Bullets trilogy offers a suspenseful and fulfilling end to the story of Sunshine and her Bullets. As they are continually faced with a danger that could ultimately destroy their world, Sunshine and her men also work together to create a dynamic that works for them. Although everything mostly gets wrapped up in the end, we are left with the possibility of another story in The Bullets world and I would definitely like to see more.
This was a great ending to the Bullets' story! All the plotlines were resolved (except one 😉). There is a focus on Gav in this one as he heals from the events at the end of book 2 and he works to regain control of his empire. There were twists I didn't see coming and I loved seeing the Bullets bonding and becoming a family.
What a great conclusion to this trilogy. It was packed with acrion, suspense, secrets, friendship, loyalty, and amazing characters. Add in some steamy times and love That was unconventional but beautiful and it was almost perfect.
I had a few minor issues with parts of the story that I feel should have been fleshed out more. I'm glad that Nix, Alesandro, and Grace will be getting a story. Especially, as that was where a lot of my issues came from in regards to this book.
