This is the second installment of the CoC series and I enjoyed every single page of it. I became totally absorbed in the story very quickly, and became sucked into the world of the incredible characters, snappy dialogue, and engaging plot. Hunter Holmes has created a relatable protagonist in Cage, whose personal growth doesn’t erase his faults. It was gratifying to watch his physical and emotional journey. Rockman continued to worm his way into my heart and affections with his personality and humor. I was completely beguiled by the blossoming family dynamic between Cage, Nessa, and Megan. The serious discussions, playfulness, and the sincere love each of these characters have for each other is truly incredible. This book is a definite must read and I’m looking forward to the next installment!

The Prospect is the second installment in this series, Chronicles of Crighton. This book continues Cage's journey and maturation. Hunter Holmes has the ability to take you into the pages with him and experience the feelings each character exhibits in your soul. Cage's point of view creates these feelings with his complex character. He is witty, perceptive, loyal, non judgemental, and doesn't miss even the slightest change in those around him. Hunter also guides us through Cage's self reflection while Cage decides how to navigate and course correct when necessary, his decision making process including everyone he cares about; specifically, their safety and possible future consequences. This quality alone endears Cage to whomever has the pleasure to journey with him through his beautiful mind. At the same time, Cage reveals his strength of character through his actions and words while laughing at his antics.
All of the situations touched on in this book and series thus far are real life scenarios, giving the reader an ability to connect on a level I have yet to encounter. I feel Hunter allows us to peer into a world vastly misunderstood, and for that I am grateful, for people can be very unkind when they do not know or care to know your way of life. I am speaking from personal experience in that regard.
The plot development is solid, ensuring you want more; consequently, at the end of the book, I find myself already desiring more. I couldn't and can't read enough about Cage and his inner circle as Hunter orchestrates their dance of life.
Thank you for your work Hunter Holmes, and I look forward to your future brilliance on paper.

And the Chronicles continue...

Hunter Holmes follows up his debut novel continuing the life of Cage Crighton and the important people in his life. In this book we see Cage grow more into himself as a man and as a Master in his relationship dynamic. Book I, was more about the birth of a Dominant and in this book we watch him feel more comfortable in his own skin. We watch as he and the people in his life deal with tremendous loss. We see as they are constantly learning, growing, and evolving.

In the age of Booktok, readers have come to expect a certain level of spicy content when they read books containing Dominants and submissives and BDSM themes. They expect a titillating romp through the dungeon. Sure CoC delivers some scenes that will make you squirm in your seat, however, that is not the focus. These books focus more on the day to day life of a polyamorus dynamic. The routines of their every day life may seem mundane to some and to others more ritualistic.

If you are looking for a book to read that will just get your motor running and nothing else, reading what Cage and Rockman did at work that day will most likely bore you to tears. But... If you want to read something that has a plot to it and a little bit of steam... I recommend you read books I and II.

Book 1 ended in tragedy for the trio of Cage, Nessa, and Tamara. We were introduced to Rockman, Megan, and Taliyah. Book 2 picks up where 1 left off. It walks us through the poly dynamic in a beautiful, touching way. I loved the deep dive into Cage and Rockman! The two of them together are HILARIOUS. The kind of guys you'd love to hang out with at a campfire. Cage is incredibly observant, which I found fascinating. He sees everything. He might not see it right away, but he sees EVERYTHING. He's the kind of guy you would feel safe and protected with (despite the fact that he's a sadist... ha). And Rockman... sigh. I just adore him. As much I love the guys, I connected on a personal level with Megan and Nessa. Their love language is the same as mine- acts of service.

My husband asked me how my "sex book" was. This book isn't about sex. Yes, it has some sex scenes, but this book is about relationships. It reads like a personal dive into the BDSM/poly lifestyle. I'm not in the lifestyle, but I have friends who are. We all agree: 50 Shades is unrealistic. 365 is a crime followed by Stockholm Syndrome. But this? This series is a beautiful, funny, engaging, erotic story about acceptance, friendship, and love.

“What happens at Cage’s, stays in the cage.”

This is Book || in the Chronicles of Crighton series and a continuation of Cage’s story. It picks up right where Book | left off as we continue the journey with Cage.

It is very well written, with emotional depth that pulls you in and makes you feel like you’re right there with the characters every step of the way. We see characters from Book | and as the story continues we are introduced to some new faces. The growth of this story and its characters is absolutely phenomenal. Throughout the book you also get to see more of the various relationships and dynamics between characters and gain more understanding for how each dynamic works.

This book has all the feels and made me LOL more times than I can count. I can’t wait to see more of all of these characters in Book |||.

Deeper understanding

This book continues right where we left off in book one. We continue the the journey through Cage's life. This book was amazing and for me it continued to keep my attention. As this is not a lifestyle I live in or I am familiar with, it is very interesting to read about, understand, and respect Cage's lifestyle and dynamic. Book two brought you deeper into each character while even introducing a few new ones. I enjoyed the humor in this book and the banter and what I consider a bromance between Cage and Rockman. I also enjoyed watching the dynamic between Cage, Nessa and Megan evolve.
Hunter gave me a great view into a lifestyle I am unfamiliar with.
Now I need to know what happens next. I look forward to the next enstallment.

Book 2 of The Prospect (Chronicles of Crighton) is just as compelling as book 1! That's really all you need or want out of a story. Cage's life story and all which that entails continues, so I was invested from page 1. The main characters rely on each other to help get past the tragic event from book 1. Their dialogue is engaging, loving, and at times, humorous. The writing is informative about the lifestyle these characters are involved in. It is obvious the author knows the subject matter. I was immersed in the story, so when it ended suddenly, I kept thinking my ebook copy was missing the pages with the "real" ending. Bring on book 3! Quickly!

Another great read

Book two was just as amazing as book one. I am more in love with these characters and I didn’t think that would be possible. The relationship between Cage and Rockman is fantastic and I love the way they can joke around with each other but you still see that they are like family. We also get a better look into the relationship between the girls and Cage. The ending made me want to pull my hair out because I need to find out what happens next! Hunter Holmes is definitely a go to author. You won’t be disappointed

In this next instalment of Chronicles of Crighton, we see Megan become an important part of the family dynamic after the loss of Tamara. Rockmans relationship with his Mistress becomes somewhat strained; his friendship with Cage is ever stronger. New characters are added to the mix and both Cage and Rockman become members of a Motorbike gang. The leader of the gang appears to be open and up front but there is something decidedly off about him, he wants Cage involved but in what.

Brilliant, I literally ate this up and cannot wait for the next book.

Hunter Holmes, you did it again. This is the second book in the series and it does not disappoint. We get to know and understand Cage and Rockman a little more and the dynamics within the household. But the ending???? Ugh, we need to wait for the next in the series, but I know it's going to be phenomenal!!! Thank you Hunter for taking a chance in the writing world!!! I, for one, am damn glad you did!!!

Much anticipated- worth the wait.

Book | was so good I knew book || had to be amazing and I was not disappointed! We learned more about our favorites from book | and met some new people too. There were emotions and laughter, as expected. I love how easily the story flowed from the first book, the twists and turns in book || only made me want more. Book ||| cant come soon enough! I'm anxious to see where it takes Cage, Rockman and the rest!

This is Book 2 written by Hunter Holmes. It starts where Book 1 left off. As Book 1 it’s have I been enjoying Hunters writing style.
This book gets deeper into the dynamic of Hunter and his girls. To me it does have some educational aspects in terms of the BDMS lifestyle, I like that.
There is more interaction between Cage and Rockman which leads to some funny conversations. Looking forward to CoC III

Hunter Holmes has done an amazing job with Book 2 in the series. I love how he shows us Cage's growth and how it effects the girls and Rockman. There is sadness, humor, and happiness, but they work together as a family to deal with it.
The story will leave you wanting more.. Anxiously waiting for Book 3.

Evolution

Son of a gun started out with tears and ended up with a deep sense of foreboding. They say poetry is a window to the author's soul and as a writer myself I can attest to that...but I think that this series is just as big a window into the Author as any poem would be.

Absolutely amazing

Cliff hangers, I love to hate them. Once again the story just pulls you right in, I didn't cry this time, but you just feel like you know these characters. I love this book as much as the first and am excited for the next one.

Fantastic!

A continuation of the first book, this one continues to follow Cage, Rockman and the girls. While there is more humor thrown in, it still gives you a deeper understanding of their lifestyle dynamic and the trust they all have in each other. Hunter does a fabulous job bringing these characters to life and I can't wait to read more about them.

Hunter took me for another wild ride in this book #2. in the 1st book he introduced us to Cage and I really felt like I got to know him on a deeper level in this book. Strong, smart, and witty I really had no idea what he would do next and with whom. Add in Rockman and what a crazy dynamic! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I will tell you this, get a copy quick and start reading, because it's hot, juicy, and even hilarious! You won't regret it.

This second installment of the CoC series played out like a movie in my head. I was drawn into their world and it felt like I personally knew each one of the characters and was emotionally invested in their journey and the outcome. There were times where I felt like a voyeur. This story was not only entertaining but educational. This series is unlike any I’ve read before. It may be about Cage and his life, but I feel like it’s about so much more.

Many years ago, my fifth grade teacher told the class that, on occasion, we will find that book that reminds us of a dear and trusted friend. After we read the book, all we want to do is hug it. This is one of those books. The Prospect is the second book in the Chronicles of Chrighton by Hunter Holmes. The story is in Cage's point of view. Hunter Holmes writes in a way that I felt as if I was in Cage's home, drinking a beer, and listening to his story, and other times, I felt like a voyeur.

The bond between Cage, Nessa, and Megan is very strong. Their relationship is based on respect, trust, and love. Their dynamic works for them and the author writes their lifestyle masterfully. The friendship between Cage and Rockman runs deep. They trust and understand one another. Their banter is hilarious. Rockman has become a member of the family they have created.

Hunter has skillfully developed the characters. There are so many layers to the characters, especially Cage. The story flows very well. The book will stay with me for a long time. Kudos to Hunter Holmes.

Part Two of the Chronicles of Crighton is just as exciting as the first!!! The story continues with Cage and Rockman. The characters have grown in this book and are coming into their own, separately and together as a whole as the dynamic changes between Cage and the special women in his life. This is another fast paced, page turning read that I could not put down...and again the feels snuck up on me. I definitely recommend this read!
