A relaxing, no brain needed read. Perfect for your bedtime.
I do wish the author followed on the few plot points of the story that actually lead nowhere.

I'm not sure if it's because I already know that the publish date was 2009 and has made me biased, but I can tell that it's an older writing style. Like, this was the writing style I was used to reading from fanfics back in the day. The biggest example was the way the author used exposition, explaining all of the little details of just one spoken sentence or thought process in case you missed it's obvious intent and using their friends to also highlight all the small details of their romance. There was also the obviously outdated shou/uke and gong/seme characteristics described in the beginning were similar to novice yaoi writers. There's even a fujoshi side character that seemed more like a self-insert when she wasn't doing her job as a healer.
It's hard to put it into words, but if you've read fanfiction or self published works like on Wattpad for a long time, you'll understand what I mean about the writing style, especially in the beginning.
I thought that this book would be similar to This MC is Kickass since both characters have high luck and are set in the future with VRMMORPG games, but at least This MC is Kickass has a stronger plot and more interesting characters (the main couple are pretty OP though). Actually, there's a variety of books you could read instead of this book. If you want to read a yaoi romance with a super lucky character, I'd recommend I Just Want to Be in a Relationship. If you want to read a yaoi e-sports book, I'd recommend God Level Summoner. Or if you want a more casual yaoi MMORPG romance, I'd recommend Love You 59 Seconds.
Or you could read this book in two days like I did lol. Up to you.

Otro libro para leer en esos pequeños tiempos muertos.
Es una historia bastante corta por lo que al final hay cosas que se sientes que no están conclusas. Sin embargo, lo que trata lo hace bien.
Crea todo un mundo de realidad virtual con numerosos personajes de los que no conoceremos gran cosa o nada fuera de este juego MMORPG, fuera de los protagonistas.
Los pequeños gatos de la suerte (humano y virtual) son carismáticos y rápido se les coge mucho cariño.
La trama del MC fuera del juego fue chocante (me esperaba algo plano sin más) y dolorosa. Puedes notar que, aunque entra al juego para huir de la realidad, también es una persona fuerte que quiere superar sus traumas y seguir adelante, y no es que todo se resuelva porque aparece el ML, pero si que su aparición, el que haya una persona que se preocupe, logra que el MC tenga un objetivo por el que esforzarse y con quien compartir todo lo que está sintiendo.
Por el lado de los antagonistas, son puras carnes de cañón sin importancia. El primero sirve para demostrar lo débil que es MC, normal por que acaba de comenzar a jugar, y da pie para conocer otros personajes relevantes (a pesar de ser un carne de cañón patético, le odiarás por sádico deseándole lo peor); y el segundo es completo relleno de personaje sin cerebro al que ni siquiera el MC le hace caso.
Una sorpresa que en una novela tan corta y sin una trama definida, el personaje principal parezca tan completo aunque no tenga suficiente tiempo para su desarrollo.

Bai XiaoYu had a traumatic experience that made him unable to step outside of his home. His only refuge is the virtual reality game Asgard Online. In the game, he won't encounter a trigger for his PTSD that's why he is somehow free to 'live' in this game.
Our mc is a bit of an introvert and even prefers soloing grinding. Due to his inability sometimes to explain, a few bad things happened to him. But he's a lucky one and met amazing people that eventually became his friends.
I love the aspect of the game and how XiaoYu's life improved as the story progresses. I also love the friendship and love moments in the story. I just wish it was longer. The love story aspect is a bit rushed on my opinion. I wanted more of the game aspect but the story focused more on our mc's growth.
If you're looking for a short, cute and fluffy story with a virtual reality game element on it, this one's for you.👍❤

This was the type of web novel I needed to read right now. I could have read at least a hundred more chapters.
The world-building was pretty immersive, the story was mostly slice-of-life albeit within a game setting, and the overall tone was pretty light. I thought the romance was relatively well-paced (especially if you keep in mind that this is a relatively light, fluffy type story that of course idealized and romanticized a lot of story elements). And big and tiny Lucky Cat were just so frikin cute! Also, huge props to Shibb's Den for great quality translations.
There were some misogynistic stereotypes and perhaps unrealistic depictions of mental trauma (or to be more precise, the treatment of mental trauma), but given that the web novel was written around 2009, I can somewhat let it go, and these problems didn't really detract my reading enjoyment.
Overall, I would recommend this web novel to someone who likes reading slice-of-life within a gaming setting.
