This collection of Sasquatch encounters includes several reports that took longer than usual to complete, due to additional correspondence to confirm through additional witnesses and other sources; some heretofore unreported instances of questionable relationships between our story submitters' and their Bigfoot acquaintances. An example of the necessity we felt to confirm some of the more unusual reports, was the person who purchased a rural property and from the outset, he experienced an encounter with some resident Sasquatch which was quite unpleasant. According to the submitter, he was pestered and harassed by these creatures until it came down to a violent confrontation causing him to use a firearm. There were no injuries, but he learned too late how to relate to these resident Sasquatch and he sold the home and property and returned to the city. Another couple had back-to-back encounters with Sasquatch and they report how the clever Bigfoot actually changed their methods of disguising their presence, by using tree branches to erase their own tracks to their secret fishing hole in the Washington state mountains. Forced to abandon their second excursion by a sudden forest fire, our reports had the experience of a lifetime. Another submitter inherited a lakeshore cabin in Michigan, and once again was reunited with Sasquatch he had first met as a child when visiting his grandfather. Both human and Sasquatch were reunited over the gravesite of the grandfather’s golden Labrador companion, whom both human and Sasquatch shared memories. This collection seems to share a common thread of closer involvement between species than most, and even though the research required more checks and balances, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing our submitters’ excitement.
On the Trail Of Sasquatch: True Stories of Bigfoot Encounters By Gary Swanson
The disclaimer in the introduction does little to make the stories seem true. Many of the encounters take place in exclusive locations: acres of land, wilderness carved out for people with the means to own them, exclusive cabins to rent or own, and elsewhere. The tales read like fiction. A lot of the experiencers talk as though Bigfoot is a creature to be bribed or somehow parlayed a banana into a peace offering. The inside information the locals is sprung upon newbies to the area where Bigfoot and antelope roam. Some consider them pets. Others say the creatures are guardians. Still others stumble upon a camp of a Bigfoot family. These accounts are antithetical to the encounters thousands of witnesses who have experienced Sasquatch events. Although the big ones are considered docile, (nearly) everyone of the storytellers is packing a gun. All of the stories are sophomoric. I recommend this book to anyone needing bedtime stories to put the little kiddies to sleep.
This was another wonderful collection of Sasquatch encounters. Most of these stories are more interactions and generally of the more peaceful variety, except for the first story. A new resident found out the hard way not to mess with the beloved inhabitants of a town. It was wonderful to read some heartwarming tales of cross species friendship. A very special collection of wonderful tales. I'm so glad people have shared them and look forward to the next book from the Swansons. A must read for cryptid lovers.
Well written! Very believable stories that could not have been made up. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who doesn't believe in Bigfoot.
