A year ago, Gwen Reynolds loaned her car to the beautiful, bloodied man in her emergency room. No name. No questions. No expectation she’d see him again.
Until he shows up in the hallway of her building… moving into the apartment next door.
Chevy McIntyre is in town for one reason only: to find the men responsible for his fiancée’s death. He’s not looking for friends, and he doesn’t need help. Especially from the neighboring angel whose bright smile has haunted his dreams for months. But his solitude doesn’t sit well with Gwen’s larger-than-life personality.
As Carmel’s most beloved nurse, Gwen will do anything to help anyone—including the handsome recluse. So, she refuses to back down until she’s helped solve the case and healed his damaged heart.
Though there’s an undeniable spark between them, Chevy tries to fight its pull because desire has always had the power to destroy. And when the investigation takes an unexpected turn, he’ll have to choose between risking his only shot at justice or losing his only chance at love.
Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.
When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

Small town mystery romance with a touch of suspense is what had me flipping the pages in this story and wanting to know more. Dr. Rebecca Sharpe really pulls you into this tight knit small town of secrets, love and mystery.
The past year has been the most difficult on nurse Gwen. She's been spread thin and doing any and everything to help with the pandemic, her younger patients and finding time to spend with her family. Deciding to move to a small town and carve out a little bit of peace for herself on the side is what has kept her going for the most part and if you ask anyone, she would sacrifice that as well for someone else. But Eighteen months ago a tragedy changed the course of her life and now she's about to come face to face with it again in the form of a tortured man.
Chevy McIntyre had his entire world flipped upside down nearly two ago and he still hasn't recovered. Every day he feels that deep searing pain and there's only one thing that can make him feel better. Justice. With a determination like he's never known, Chevy sets out to get to the bottom of the truth and find out just how many secrets a small town can keep. But there's one thing that this brooding man did not factor into his plan and that's the lovable sweet nurse who will stop at nothing to make him smile.
I really liked the setting of the story and I'm a huge fan of the small town romance feel. Chevy and Gwen were almost the complete opposite of each other but they worked. He came across as rude and standoffish in the beginning and I loved seeing his tough exterior slowly starting to have little cracks when it came to Gwen. The only issue I had with this one was that I felt like I needed a legal pad to keep up with the names of different characters that had their own books. I've only read one book in the series and I kind of felt overwhelmed when different characters were talked about because it was a lot at times. Aside from that, I enjoyed this one and I think if small town romance is your thing, you're going to love this.
Each of the books in the Carmel Cove Series can be read as a standalone but I have to worn you once you fall in love with this small town and it's inhabitants you will want to read each of their books. BELOVED is Gwen Reynolds and Chevy McIntyre's book and it starts off with a gut punch, Nurse Gwen is helping with a patient that is barely holding on after a car accident when she informs the patients husband, that she is being Airlifted to a larger hospital that is better equipped to handle her injuries. Knowing that the man's car was just totaled in the accident she gives him the keys to her own car and sends him on his way. This opening prologue was significant in ways you will only find out about later in the book, but you could feel the attraction that Gwen was feeling towards this man right away.
Fast forward eighteen months and the mystery man at the hospital is now Gwen's neighbor....say what!?! Oh and it gets so much better. We find out all sorts of secrets that have been kept and since there has been an underlying thread going through each of the books it is fully developed and unearthed in this final book.
I had been waiting for Gwen's story since I met her in REVOLUTION last summer and I couldn't be happier with the way her story turned out. Gwen is the sweet, loving, always putting other people first, Nurse that we have gotten to know a little better since she cared for Jules in BESPOKEN, and, Chevy is the perfect growly gladiator for her.
This book is perfect for those that enjoy Steamy Romantic Suspense Novels. If you have read any of the books in this series you'll want to read this one as well, and if you haven't started the series yet...I highly recommend that you do!
Carmel Cove never fails to deliver.... theses stories are like visiting old friends. Beautiful Gwen has such a huge heart and she gives every part of it to her patients and friends. Her life revolves around giving and caring, always there when she is needed and willing to help any of her friends. Chevy has lived his life on a mission to protect. He will stop at nothing to avenge his loved ones.... and the trail brings him straight to Carmel and back to the angel who showed him such compassion and care 18 months ago. But, he has to keep his head in the game, he can’t afford for this beautifully frustrating distraction to get involved in what could be life threatening. I loved Gwen and her insistence.... her gentle persuasion and light touch with grumpy Chevy was such fun to read. Chevy fits in perfectly with all the other alphas of the Cove and this story is a welcome addition.... bringing with it the drama, suspense, heat and alpha grade romance we have come to love and expect. I’m really Looking forward to the brothers and the rest of the Covington Security teddy bears!!
5 BELOVED STARS!! I am in awe at this authors storytelling. Beautiful and heartwarming stories makes this author phenomenal. Carmel Cove series will go down as one of my all time favorites. You must read this book and series.
Well dang that is one heck of an emotional way to end a series! Carmel Cove is definitely a place that will always be dear to my heart! I have loved and thoroughly enjoyed this series! Each book has a different couple, each facing different trials and tribulations but Gwen and Chevy definitely had an explosive book!
From start to finish you are sucked into the storyline trying to figure out what will come next! This is a very intense series and the linking storyline finally comes to a head in this book and I can not think of a better couple to do that with! Gwen is a one of toughest and sweetest heroines! She wants to spread both joy and love and she does so with gusto! Even the broody Chevy couldn’t forget Gwen and when their paths cross again both will stop at nothing to achieve their goals!
I loved seeing everyone again in this book! A phenomenal book all around!
I loved this final book in the Carmel Cove series!
”He’d hit me like a hurricane. Swept in with his tortured thunder and lust-filled lightning. Drenched me with righteous rain and shredded me with the storm.”
Gwen Reynolds is a nurse through and through. Caring and helping people with everything she has is just who she is. When the mystery grieving guy, who she loaned her car to, turns up again eighteen months later, she’s shocked. Shocked and attracted. However, he doesn’t seem to remember her. When he turns out to be her new temporary neighbour, she’s determined to be a one-woman welcoming committee.
”She was life itself. Vibrant. Colorful. Warm.”
Chevy McIntyre is in town for one thing only – bring down the people who were responsible for the death of a loved one. He doesn’t have time for the beautiful nurse next door – the one he’s never been able to forget, even though they met very fleetingly. He certainly doesn’t want all these feelings that keep intruding into his hitherto hollow heart. Unfortunately, Gwen is determined to break through his walls, and he’s not sure that he even wants to resist her.
”I do have this unquenchable instinct to mark you as mine – one I’ve never had for anyone else before.”
This was a fabulous, heartwarming, and sexy read. Gwen is one in a million. Her giving nature is amazing and admirable, if sometimes a little presumptuous! However, she had so much to give and Chevy was very much a needy recipient of all the love and compassion that overflowed from her. Chevy was grumpy and focused, but I loved how, bit by bit, Gwen chipped away at his defences. His overwhelming lust and passion for her was thrilling, and I loved the whole growly, possessive thing he had going on! This series has been amazing (although I do need to read the very first book still) and I adored the close community, the close friendships, and the amazing love stories of each couple.
Gwen once upon a time lent her car out to a stranger - a man whose fiancée was being airlifted to another, better equipped hospital, a woman who was Gwen's patient. Gwen had an insane reaction to this man who was in so much pain as he dealt with the news that his love was so bad off that she had to be taken to another hospital in the hopes they could save her life. Now months later he walks back into her town, and her life. Only he's not anymore friendly than he was that night. Not anymore wanting anything to do with his new neighbor that seems so determined to show him the same kindness she showed him all that time ago.
Chevy's a broken man, driven by revenge and doesn't want anything or anyone distracting him from his mission. But is his insistence any match for Gwen's big, beautiful heart? Her gentle insistence on bringing sunshine to his grey world?
I think I fall more in love with the Carmel Cove world with each story I read. Gwen and Chevy are so beautiful together with her giving heart and his persistent denial of her, which of course, only lasted for so long before he gave into to the light she emitted. I cannot wait for more of this amazing series now.
ARC via Wildfire Marketing Solutions for an honest review.
I absolutely love spending time in Carmel Cove. Over the series I’ve enjoyed the beautiful scenery and got to know some incredible characters. Gwen has always been caring, considerate and kind, and I so desperately wanted her to find her own ‘happy ever after’ with a man who loves and will care for her more than she loves and cares for others.
What did I love about this story? Well, first of all there is our incredible leading lady Gwen who shone throughout this book. I loved how she took the spotlight and allowed readers to see more of that huge heart of hers. I also enjoyed getting to know Chevy and witnessing his journey as the story unfolded. This is not the only series by Rebecca Sharp based in Carmel Cove. The author is currently releasing books in her Covington Security series and I, as a huge fan of that series too, enjoy the crossover of characters.
What did I feel was good? I enjoyed the storyline and how the plot brought Gwen and Chevy together. Gwen’s brothers feature in this book which I found was the perfect way to introduce them to us, as they will be having their own stories releasing in the near future and I am now intrigued to learn more about them.
What I wished had been different is that I suspected what was going to happen throughout the book. I also felt the pace of the story was a little slow at times – often going over what had already been highlighted.
I am saddened that the Carmel Cove series has now ended but I know I can still get my fix via those Covington brothers and their team. I’m looking forward to giving Reynolds Protective series a read too. My only fear is that Gwen’s brothers are bodyguards, and I fear that their storylines could be too similar to those already penned by this author. I guess time will tell!
Beloved is the story of Gwen Reynolds, a nurse who loves her profession. She is smart, kind, and loving; she has a weakness: wanting to fix what is broken. So when a bloody man comes in on her shift in the emergency room asking for his wife to be saved, she does everything in her hands to help him, including giving him the keys of her car in order to he can be transported to a hospital with better resources to try to save his wife's life. Chevy McIntyre, the broken gladiator as Gwen dubbed him, returns 18 months later seeking revenge. He is indeed a broken, grumpy and lonely man. He does not expect to meet again with the nurse who saw him in one of his worst moments, however when he sees her a spark arises between them. Nor do he expects the same nurse to be his neighbor. Gwen couldn't forget him and now that he's close to her, her curiosity about him is even greater. Chevy seeks to push her away, but the more Gwen tries, the more she provokes him with her kindness until she finally breaks his shell and manages to see past the gladiator rude and grumpy.
Beloved is a touching and captivating story that reflects the contrast of two people who have had to deal with difficult situations but have handled it differently way. Gwen with her empathy, kindness and caring soul, Chevy rude, relentless, reserved and distant. She manages to understand him and make him see that he is not alone in the world and that he is free of guilt. I also really liked how the author handled the issues of both drug addiction and the environment in the health care area. Being part of the medical area, this book caught my attention because there are really few that reflect the life of a health professional and I was able to empathize with Gwen. This is a beautiful book and totally worth reading.
Dr. Rebecca Sharp has taken us back to the lovely beachside town of Carmel Cove for another suspenseful and steamy story of love. Gwen is kindness personified and more than willing to put others before herself. It's why she's such a great nurse. Chevy is on a mission, bound and determined not to be swayed or enchanted by the nurse with a big heart. Bring on the cast of caring characters from Carmel Cove, shady drug dealers, intrigue, and the guys of Covington Security, and we have a great adventure. Oh, and we find out Gwen's brothers have their own security firm too--possible spin-off series? A fun, sweet, and exciting read!
Ahhh I cant tell you how much I love Carmel cove series and all the lovely people that we get to meet along the way. This one is about chevy and gwen and I absolutely loved it. Everytime I read anything of Rebecca's I seem to fall in love all over again. I cant pick a favourite because I absolutely love them all. From the very first meeting with chevy I loved him, I love a dark and brooding man who seems to communicate by growling, all throughout my love grew for him. Gwen is sweet and sassy who does anything for anyone, she sees the good in everything, she was a complete breath of fresh air.
The intensity and heat in this book had me completely consumed, I laughed, cried and ended with my heart completely full of smushy love.
Chevy and Gwen. Joy and the grouch. Gwen has been a light and helpful in all the books. Chevy is new to the series, but we heard about him in an earlier book as a side story with Gwen’s car. Their interactions are funny and the danger element is present with the drug and human trafficking ring. All the previous couples are present throughout the story and Oscar is the star with his little grouchy self. The ending was unexpected and full of tense moments. The epilogues were precious and fitting for the grouchy love.
The Carmel Cove series quickly became of my my favorite, must read series. Each story is intense and continues to get better and better. Beloved is my favorite of this series and Chevy is one character I rooted so hard for. He’s disgruntled, broken, and only Gwen can save him. Well they can save each other. But will he let her in? She knows how to really pull at your emotions and make you feel and relate in some way with this story. It’s a must read so do not miss out!!
This has so much passion, tension, and sweet moments but also mystery, suspense and drama. It's a great way to end the series. I fell in love with both Gwen and Chevy as they brought out something different in each other. The story just sucked me in and didn't let me go until the end.
Another amazing adventure into Carmel Cove!! The suspense, the turmoil, the danger, the angst was all on point for the conclusion of the Carmel Cove series.
Beloved had me at me at the edge of my seat with anticipation from the very beginning. The tragic tale of why and how Chevy came to Carmel Cove and how Gwen helped him when he needed it most truly tugged at my post partum heartstrings. I literally read this book just days after giving birth. I mean I was a bucket of tears for that scene with Oscar at the beach. I was almost to the point of messaging Rebecca telling her I was not going to finish this book if something happened to him, lol.
A great read in a fantastic series of standalones.
You just can’t go wrong with Rebecca book. What a phenomenal end of this series. This story was heartwarming, captivating and beautifully written. I loved Gwen and Chevy. Every book in this series is about a different couple and a standalone but I would highly recommend reading the full series. A must read.
The last book in the carmel cove series! Loved this book so much! Such a great ending to the people at carmel cove! They solved the mystery at Rock Beach resort and Gwen finally met her man! Another Dr. Rebecca Sharp book that doesn’t disappoint!
So action packed and full of feels, I couldn’t help but be pulled in.
“The woman who gave everything to a man who had nothing to give in return”
Author Dr Rebecca Sharp created one of the sweetest strongest and feistiest heroines imaginable in Gwen Reynolds. She had a heart that overflowed with the giving of giving, and we’re not talking material gifts here. It was her love, concern, caring and healing gifts that she bestowed onto anyone who needed them, all while she didn’t necessarily like to be loudly recognised for it.
From the moment that the emergency nurse had seen Chevy McIntyre and recognised him as the most gorgeous man she’d ever seen, her life changed, and after offering her car to him, a complete stranger, she never thought to see him again, even as his face haunted her for months to come. Gobsmacking was the moment she saw him back again well over a year later, and crashing back to earth was her reaction when he refused to accept the vast ammount of help she tried to send his way.
Hilariously, at first, I thought Gwen came off as rather stalker-ish, but I soon came to see that she was someone who genuinely cared, almost to the detriment of herself. When it came to Chevy, it was the visceral chemical reaction, and the recognition of wanting to offer unconditional caring and friendship that kept her returning, and I don’t for a moment believe it was to ‘fix’ him, but to help him. She couldn’t help herself and at times her efforts almost provided a comical relief to the tension surrounding this book. Ms Sharp very delicately packed a little more suspense into the steamy romance between Gwen and Chevy in this final book in her Carmel Cove series.
What an amazing series this has been! It’s not necessary to have read the preceding books, because Ms Sharp does a great job in bringing her readers up to speed with the introductions, but I’m saying now that you’re going to want to. These books are fantastic and this one was straight up my favourite.
Chevy was all growly, overprotective, beautiful and seriously ‘alpha’. When he finally let Gwen in enough to share some of his story, my heart broke, and it was easy to see how he came to be as closed off and as broken as he was. Interestingly, and much to the delight of my romantic heart, Chevy finally admitted that he was pushing Gwen away not due to the guilt of the loss of his fiancé, but when he realised that to lose Gwen would destroy him beyond recovery. He had dangerous leads to follow, and somehow, she managed to find herself in the thick of it!
Seriously, this book, as well as the earlier ones in this series of stand-a-lones was amazing reading, and I highly recommend them to anyone who loves steam and romantic suspense. Thankfully it’s not the last we’ll see of these amazing characters; Ms Sharp has a couple of spin offs coming, and I’m looking forward to those. 5 Stars 💛✶
Ms. Sharp's Caramel Cove series has been a reliably entertaining series of sweet and sensual stories set in small town America. This story is full of emotional ups and downs and features caring nurse Gwen Reynolds and the gruff and damaged Chevy McIntyre as she works to help him find healing, while he discovers the answers he needs.
Gwen is the kind of heroine you can't help but like, a strong and smart woman, someone hardworking with a heart of gold. She cares more about helping others, bringing joy and love to everyone she meets, never caring about getting credit for her good deeds. The moment she meets Chevy is a life-altering moment for her in an instant attraction to a man who's very rough around the edges. She doesn't expect to see the emotionally broken man ever again, but his showing up months later as her new next door neighbor gives her the chance to truly help him find a bit of joy and happiness. Gwen's a truly supportive heroine and watching her interactions with Chevy warmed my heart while making me giggle a time or two. She's not the kind of person to take no for an answer either, so her time with Chevy sees her being a bit too much at times, but it was all done with heart.
Chevy makes a lasting impression from the moment readers meet him, a broken man overcome with guilt and rage longing to get answers...with those answers leading him to Caramel Cove. His original meeting with Gwen was memorable but he now wants nothing more than to be left alone to lick his wounds and wallow in guilt. Gwen has no intention of letting him do that though in a connection that was both sweet and caring with flashes of sexual tension. Wherever he was she ended up smack dab in the middle of things which led to some complications. Chevy's a gruff and angry hero, one who constantly pushes Gwen away because of a history that's a heartbreaking one. It takes a lot of heartfelt moments between the two of them, as well as a resolution to a storyline that's played out throughout the series and that led to the death of his fiancée months ago, before they reach their richly-rewarding HEA.
From start to finish this is an engaging story with a main couple you root for every step of the way. With a caring heroine who's almost too good to be true, and a hero full of darkness and guilt, there's a nice balance to their journey to HEA that kept me on the edge of my seat. Surrounding this compelling main couple was an equally appealing cast of secondary characters, one's we've met in previous books who are here to assist in nicely wrapping up this series. On a whole Ms. Sharp has crafted a series of sweet and suspenseful small town romances that I definitely recommend.
“𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆. 𝗨𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘆. 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.” 💖 Let’s talk about “Beloved by Dr Rebecca Sharp”, fifth and final book in the Carmel Cove series. 💖 Rebecca decided to finish this amazing series with a bang! With every book I’ve read in this series, I felt in love with this group of friends more and more. I already liked Gwen, but with her story, I surrender to adoration. She is strong, fierce, full of sass, with a heart bigger than her, who would anything in her power to help others and mostly important she will fight for herself too.
Things start to get “crazy” for her when her new neighbor is the guy she borrowed her car 18 months ago, so he could go to the hospital to be with his dying “wife”, the one who she can’t forget, even covered in someone else’s blood, the one person who doesn’t want to be saved. They bickered so much in the beginning, I couldn’t help but laugh, it was banter gold! Chevy on the other hand, took me sometime to liked him, but he definitely won my heart soon enough. He was trying to find the culprit to his wife’s death. There wasn’t a thing he would do, he had a goal.
What he wasn’t expecting was Gwen to change everything. I loved his possessiveness over her, his growlings attitudes and how much in love with her he was since the first he saw her. And oh my, he had a dirty mouth, is it hot in here? I loved their friendship and their love story. Their conversation before everything goes to shit was powerful and I loved every second of Gwen speech.
Are you hearing my crying sounds? Gosh this was a perfect series and with Chevy and Gwen’s story was the perfect conclusion for them and the secondary suspense plot we had going on since book one. I got my heart in my hand over the last few chapters and I absolutely loved. Thanks to all heavens this won’t be the last we see this gang, we still have the Convington’s series and now Gwen’s brothers will also have their owns. This world is a must read, people!
Eighteen months ago in the hospital OR, Nurse Gwen Reynolds worked to save Julie, a young woman whose car had crashed on Coastal Highway. Her husband wasn't badly injured and he needs a vehicle to get to the hospital over an hour away since his car was totaled in the accident. Gwen doesn't think twice and tosses her car keys to him, telling him to take it and he promises to bring it back. Now, 18 months later, Gwen spots him arriving at the coffee shop at the same time he sees her, and the recognition is immediate. Chevy McIntyre is with the DEA and is back in Carmel Cove to find the men responsible for Julie's death. Unbeknownst to Gwen, he's also going to be her next door neighbor. They are prickly with one another and Chevy refuses to accept any help or kindness from her, but there's something more below the surface that he can't give in to for Gwen's sake. He is on a mission to take down the Crown cartel and he refuses to allow Gwen to get hurt, or worse, by attempting to help him. He warns her away, but it hurts her because she thinks he doesn't have any faith in her when, in reality, he doesn't think he deserves her love. Chevy tries to protect everyone in his life, even if it's protection from himself. There is something deadly going on with overdoses and selling drugs, and that's where Covington Security joins forces with Chevy to get to the bottom of it. There are surprises as the secrets come out, but there's also danger for Gwen and her best friend. When the danger becomes deadly, Chevy finds his way to Gwen and he finally trusts her enough to let her in and to love him. This is a poignant and powerful story of friendship, trust, values and living your best life. Even though this is the last story in the Carmel Cove series, it's not the last time we'll be seeing these families and beloved friends. Fittingly, Rebecca Sharp saved the best story for last!
After literally lending a stranger her car, Gwen never expects to see him again. Much less that he'd be the grumpy guy who just moved next door. Eighteen months after his fiancee's tragic death, Chevy is back in Carmel Cove seeking revenge -- and never expects that the sweet nurse he met that awful night would be back in his life. Gwen makes Chevy feel all kinds of things that he hasn't felt in a long time, and as much as he tries to stay focused on his quest for vengeance, he can't stay away from her for long. But when his investigation intersects with his new romance, will Chevy lose it all again?
I felt that Beloved started out really strong -- that prologue was amazing -- and dragged a bit in the middle before picking back up again at the end. But the end of this story was explosive. Gwen was equal amounts sweet and sassy, and one tough cookie. I loved that about her. Chevy was every bit the brokenhearted, jaded, grumpy hero. Gwen is a healer by nature and she keeps putting herself out there time and time again while trying to help Chevy. He's resistant to it, of course, but he can't help but fall for the sweet nurse who rescued him more than once.
Gwen and Chevy's journey is full of ups and downs, and it is an emotional ride to get to the end. Not just because of the guilt that Chevy is carrying around due to the death of his fiancee, but the element of suspense involved in his investigation into the drug ring/sex trafficking in Carmel Cove. The romance between Chevy and Gwen was intertwined so well with the suspense of his investigation.
I've read two books in the Carmel Cove series, and while there are interconnected characters, I did find that the books I've read stood on their own. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Even though Reynolds Security series comes after this, I started with that series before I got into this one, so maybe that's why I felt more connected to Gwen since I already knew about all her brothers and their love stories. It was nice to get to know their only sister and her journey of finding love too. The start was very depressing, with Chevy losing his loved one, so I wanted to see how he manages to move on and fall in love again. If you read this from the beginning, you'll notice that Chevy is a completely different person at the end than he was at the beginning. I found the pace of the story extremely slow, hence it took me a long time to finish this book. The only interesting chapters were after the twist where Gwen is accused for something which she is completely innocent for, just because she was standing for what's right and fighting against someone dangerous. She falls into trouble, but of course nothing wrong can happen to her when Chevy is there for her. One more thing which I liked about this story was that we get to delve into the professions of both the main characters, Chevy being a writer and Gwen being a doctor. We get to see how difficult life is, and things aren't as simple as they appear. The hurdles one has to go through to save their profession. Mostly in epilogues we see couples having children ot getting pregnant, and the focus is on making a family and a happily ever after. This was different though. We don't get any of that typical cliche here. Instead, the focus was on their careers after marriage. I think that's the most beautiful part of the book.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Beloved, Carmel Cove #5, by Dr. Rebecca Sharp, has become my favorite book in the series!!!!
I have always been very fond of Gwen’s character and could not wait to read more about her. Needless to say, I am NOT disappointed. I also love how characters from the first 4 Carmel Cove books continue to make appearances, adding to the small town romance vibe.
Gwen is a very likable and relatable character. She did not grow up with a silver spoon, as most of her friends did; she worked hard to achieve all she has. Gwen is innately kind, giving, and selfless; she is loved by all.
Life changes the day Gwen meets Chevy. She can see he is broken; all she wants to do is help fix him. After his wife is tragically killed, Chevy shuts down and becomes a shell of the man he used to be.
When Gwen and Chevy end up as next door neighbors, it’s on! Gwen is not going to stop in her quest to help fix Chevy and force him to like her....while Chevy’s only goal is to be left alone and not be fixed. Their chemistry is off the charts and their story is intense from start to finish.
This book is amazing! It’s not just another small town romance, there are aspects of Enemies to Loves, Rom-Com, Suspense....just to name a few. Do NOT miss out on my favorite book so far this summer! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Carmel Cove series never disappoint and the Fifth Installment has just confirmed it, once again. It is said that the series has come to an end, but luckily the journey of some of the characters will continue in other books.
Dr. Rebecca Sharp is an amazing author and her writing skills are perfect. The setting, plot, and characters in all the books from the Carmel Cove series are well-written.
Gwen Reynolds is always willing to help others and support them in everything. She loaned her car to a man in need without really knowing him. He returned her car and after that, she didn’t have any contact with him. He decided to return to Carmel Cove and he is her new neighbor as well. She hopes that he will remember her.
Chevy McIntyre has returned to Carmel Cove to find the person responsible for the death of his fiancée. He only wants to focus on the case and wants to avoid any distractions. Gwen doesn’t make it easy for him. She is always there and he can’t deny that there is something between them.
I loved the story of Gwen and Chevy. It was an emotional and exciting journey.
And what a great ending …
We must never give up on anyone.
Beloved can be read as a stand-alone, but I would recommend that you read the series from the start. It will make the story even more clear.
Chevy is a huge grumpy man but with all he has endured in his life it’s understandable as to why. He can’t stand to ask for help, he doesn’t want to get close to anyone until he fulfills his promise he made, and he just wants to steer clear of his new neighbor Gwen. Where Chevy is dark and broody Gwen is the light and beauty in the world. She would do anything for anyone, give anyone anything they ask for, and leaves the town of Carmel Cove a little better just by her presence. When Gwen and Chevy meet the first time it is the worst day of his life, and she sees his struggle and lends him her car. Never expecting to see him again he but he steps back in her life and doesn’t want anything to do with her. The back and forth of his attraction and guilt eat at him everyday and the only way to keep Gwen safe is to constantly push her away but she is relentless and determined to be there for him no matter how he treats her. Gwen never stops trying to be there for him and he constantly pushes her away, yet she is determined to not give up. I loved this book, seeing all the characters we love and I hope Gwen’s brother get their stories because they were amazing.
Okay I'm officially in love with Carmel Cove. What an incredible story of pain, kindness, revenge, forgiveness and last but not least finding light and love in the darkest reaches of your soul. Chevy is the darkness as we meet him at a moment that can only bring about darkness in any person at time when you are about to loose someone you are trying to save, save because you love them. Gwen is the light we meet her at almost that same moment as she also fights but she fights to push back the darkness in Chevy to save him from a fate without light with out life without her. Wait what?! How could she think that right the book just started but the connection was unexplainable and necessary all the same for Chevy to survive. The story, the words woven together are beautiful. All the feelings are beyond my simple descriptions. So go get a copy because I definitely recommend this story to anyone looking for a broody broken hero, a heroine who is tough as nails but uses kindness as her weapon of choice. And a small town that will keep you coming back for more.
Visiting Carmel Cove is always a pleasure for me as each couple finds their passion in life and love that includes this amazing community. The journey for Gwen and Chevy doesn’t disappoint. Gwen is the giver and fixer for everyone which is a passion for her. But at the same time, she struggles to let other people help her. Chevy doesn’t believe he deserves to be loved but the one thing he can do is destroy the drug cartels that have taken the ones he loved from his life. This duo has an amazing first meeting that is electric but neither one expects to see the other ever again. When Chevy is suddenly Gwen’s new neighbor, well, Chevy learns being neighborly is a way of life for Gwen. It was a joy to experience all the crazy moments as Gwen needs to be friendly and helpful while Chevy wants solitude as he works his latest case. But when his case involves the hospital where Gwen works, well, she can’t help but assist. I truly enjoyed how these two connected and the struggles along the way as the navigated the road to a relationship. Both of them have issues that they have been avoiding which they have to confront to allow them to have a happily ever after. Such an incredible journey.
Welcome to Book five in the Caramel Cove Series which can be read as a standalone which is how I've read it and I can definitely admit it was a great storyline with some mystery added to into it and the beginning really did make this book for me when Gwen who is an E.R Nurse is trying to save the life of a women who has been involved in a traffic collision and needs more help from other drs she's left to tell the patient's husband that she needs air lifting to a bigger hospital for treatment! Gwen simply hands her car keys over to the distraught husband she realises there's just something about this guy.
Now 18 months later and she acquires a new neighbour and Chevvy has a reason to be broody he wants revenge for his deceased fiancee and he's determined to get it that is until Gwen tries to pull him out of his stupor and with a larger than life attitude she's the perfect candidate.
I really enjoyed the concept of this bittersweet book it was suspenseful, sexy and endearing.
I love a good book by Rebecca Sharp and I'm looking forward to reading the four previous books in this series soon.
