The concluding volume to an outstanding SF series on AI and humanity does not disappoint. The leading characters find destined fulfilment in appropriate ways, while the action coalesces in a tense final battle. Brilliant, well written and highly recommended series.

This is a great series! I quite like all the characters, including the ships. I had a bit of a struggle with this book in some parts with the transition between scenes. I had to double back in a few places thinking I’d missed something in getting to that specific point. I really enjoyed the excitement in the last part of the book but have to say I didn’t like how it ended (nothing wrong with it, just my own opinion). I’m hoping there is more to come in the series but I remain uncertain about Johnson’s character.

Great storytelling

The entire series was a great story. I loved every page. The characters are well developed, the plot complex with multiple twists, and the action was well done. My only complaint, which is far too common with ebooks, is the editing is poor. There are numerous word usage errors , deletions, and misspellings. Some deletions may be due to British English idiomatic speech, but others are clearly erroneous.

Fraternity - a review by Rosemary Kenny

*some spoilers*
A meeting of AI 'siblings', Indie and Hope, leads to an exchange of information that could change the whole future of Earth,(now a 'hidden' planet) and all the other Protected Systems' future survival.

Their enhanced humans, Johnson, Seivers and their Legionaries must fight against the evil of the Red Fleet, under its commander Koblensk, a traitor to the Confederacy.

Can Indie's intel enable the Legion to capture Koblensk?
How is Johnson grievously wounded?
What happens when Indie's 'alter-ego' Caretaker abandons him and vows to continue his own self-appointed mission?

The extended storyline of Alasdair Shaw's Fraternity, Book 5 of his Two Democracies: Revolution series, could almost be made into an undiscovered episode of the Star Wars franchise, so wide-ranging and exciting is its all-action galactic warfare and outstanding pantheon of charismatic (or cruel), characters.
