Really Excellent! This is not a beginner stitching book, and I love that. How many dozens of books need the basic materials and such as the first half of the book?? Only basic stitches are required in these designs -- back stitch, split stitch, French knots. This book jumps right into the patterns with step-by-step instructions that still inspire the stitcher to be creative. I love it!! The only problem is choosing a pattern to start on! Charles & Elin also have an excellent YouTube channel, Instagram, and an online academy, for those looking for additional help, inspiration, and a monthly pattern club.
Lovely line drawings from France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and London, enhanced with trees, flowers, etc., for stitching with five basic hand embroidery stitches. Clear directions throughout with some links to free video explanations. Written by spouses Elin Petronella (Swedish) and Charles Henry (French), who make the case that this is relaxing and mindful. The hardcopy book I looked at was 160 pages from my local library. Edited to note authors' backgrounds and remove one reference to another book to that book's review.
The lovely product of drawing with thread. Using only a few basic stitches, you can create lovely textural art. Easily adaptable to any structure (or plants. or pets. or people!) you can turn into a line drawing.
Lovely book. Beautiful designs. If you have concerns about getting the patterns onto fabric from the kindle book you have no need to worry. Contact the authors on Instagram or via another method and they will send them to you. Cannot rate this highly enough. Love it!
Incredibly creative way to embroider. The authors are encouraging, too. Whether you use their patterns with DMC color codes or try your hand at architectural drawing, you will have works of art using the fewer stitches method they tout. Excellent book.
