Club Volare #2

Tied to the Tycoon

Rate this book
Length: 6 hrs and 54 mins

Ten years ago, tech entrepreneur Jackson Reed broke Ava Barnett's heart. As best friends in college they each had their reasons for guarding their hearts, but when they finally let go, things were perfect for one night—and then Jackson screwed it all up.

Since then, he's never forgotten her, and she's tried her best to forget him. Jackson has become one of the most sought after Doms in the city, and Ava has pretended she's never had a submissive thought. Which suits Ava just fine: after a hard decade of dating in New York, she's decided she's done with relationships, and she's done with getting her heart broken.

But at a Club Volare engagement party, Jackson catches sight of the one who got away: Ava. One quick wager later, and Ava is massively in his debt. To pay it off, she'll need to be his submissive for one week.

Jackson Reed has spent ten years becoming the man Ava Barnett deserves. They've been tied to each other all this time, whether she knows it or not. Now he's got one week to show her that she's the only woman he'll ever truly love—and the only one he wants to Dominate.

I have an overactive imagination and too much time on my hands, and the result is...well, lots of books! Which is probably better than the alternative. ;)

I love writing steamy and erotic romances, some dark, some light, but always about something that moves me. And, because I'm totally a sucker, love tends to win out. Everyone deserves a happy ending. :)

My contemporary BDSM erotic romance series, Club Volare, has hit the genre bestseller charts on Amazon a few times, which is just awesome. Right now there are two books, Sold to the Sheikh and Tied to the Tycoon, with a third, Disciplined by the Dom, due in February 2013. And I've also got this paranormal series in the very beginning stages of development that I'm super excited about. When I'm not writing those, I'm gonna be reading -- if you've got any good recs, send them my way!

And if you want to hear about those new releases when they come out, you can sign up for my New Releases list here (I *only* use it for that; I hate spam so much!).

Lots of love, and happy reading!!

Story:GOOD
Intimacy Level: Sex-citingly FUN + GOOD
Enjoyment: FAIRLY GOOD
Length: 2615 kindle / 230 pages
Style: Contemporary Erotica
Series: Club Volare book#2

Ok, I'm not going to be complicated with my review, but I actually have two ratings for this story, 4 stars and 3 1/2 stars. I actually like this story and what the author did between Jackson and Ava. Concepts with lost love or crushes, always set my inner juices flowing. Jackson's feelings, emotions and vulnerability was what made me attracted to me throughout the story. And although he got Ava to agree to a week of leaving all control to him, seeing him woo her to open her eyes to what is in front of her was also nice. Ava had an unresolved past that she is dealing with when it comes to her family. She is attracted to the life style of Dom and sub, but since her first experience with Jackson, she has never forgotten him or ventured out to experience it fully because of her unresolved emotions. I felt for me personally, I wasn't as excited in the beginning as I wanted to be, however, this was a book that got better as the story progressed and we see what is transpiring between Ava and Jackson within their one week agreement. Also, two words, one meaning, Red Velvet and it means sex whenever wherever. I was excited about the access word used between Ava and Jackson as for me it was a reversal spin on a safe word. I wanted Jackson to use it more often, because it was fun but short lived, but nevertheless, fun.

Why I gave it 4**** stars:
If this was an entity by itself and not a series, I liked this story. It felt like a love story of a man who is desperately seeking the love of this woman, Ava, still, after ten years. Throw in the spicy sex scenes and backgrounds, it was fun.

Why I would give it 3 1/2**** stars:
As much as I liked the story, it didn't feel like a Club Volare series, it felt like a distant cousin of the series. Even though the story started out in Club Volare, I felt the club aspect of the series got lost a bit. In Sold to the Sheikh (BDSM Erotic Romance) (Club Volare), I remember reading the first chapter and the allure of the club and what was going on behind the scenes, it seemed forbidden but yet exciting and I wanted that feeling again. Of course, I know all the scenes wouldn't take place in Club Volare, but I would have been nice to see a little naughtiness within the club, just saying. The BDSM aspect is there but comes out a little more within certain scenes. Also, Jackson, I love him but sometimes I wanted him to put the wooing to the side and give me some Dom power. For me, is Dom persona felt more like a teasing, but he was still Dominate sometimes. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this book, would recommend the series and still look forward to book three.

This is the 2nd in the Club Volare series & involves Ava & Jackson, although Club Volare only makes the very briefest of appearances. Thus far there hasn't really been a good look at the club. The story begins with the engagement party of Stella & her Sheikh from book 1. Jackson has arranged to be invited in the hope that his long lost love, Ava, will attend. They spent one night together 10 yrs ago & something transpired to make Ava run & hide for the last 10 yrs but he's never stopped loving her. Now he intends to do whatever it takes to win her back starting with winning her in a game of baccarat for 1 week-no strings attached≤'i≥. Ahem...yeah, ok. *wink*

Jackson has become a Dom during their time apart & is running his own company. Ava has not faired as well & is working a dead end job for a Frenchman who is a world class sexual harasser. Ava has never forgotten Jackson either. I wouldn't say she's been pining away for him but he seems to be the one that got away. I actually liked Ava more than Jackson which is quite a rarity for me. Jackson's love seems to border on stalking & obsession. In accordance with de rigueur they both have troubled pasts. Jackson just didn't do much for me almost like he made domination his job rather than it actually being part of his personality & an inevitability. If that makes any sense.

There's some fairly intricate bondage, a spectacular suspension scene-Yes, please! *raises hand*-& more public scening which I think I'm noticing a theme amongst these books perhaps Ms. Cox is rather fond of this particular thing herself? :) There is also something called an "access word" which was new to me but again *raising hand* LOL. At any rate, it's a nice follow up to book 1.

Ok, I got the pleasure of reading this wonderful book early before publication and it did not disappoint. If you have readSold to the Sheikhand liked it, you will love this one!!

I will not spoil it with spoilers, but it starts off at Club Voltare at a party from the characters from her previous book (not necessary to read Sold to the Sheikh to read this one, but you will love it if you do). The book picks up on a relationship between Ava and Jackson who had a beautiful friendship 10 years ago. Something went seriously wrong one evening between Jackson and Ava that scarred her and her confidence. Jackson spends the next 10 years developing himself into a better person driven by his true inspiration "Ava" and now has the chance to make up for lost time.

It is a beautiful love story with some "steamy scenes" that will not disappoint. The book spans over a "week long" bet that Ava loses and Jackson spends his time wisely trying to win back the girl he has always loved but almost destroyed 10 years.

One of the things that was new to me in the book, was instead of a "safe word" which Ava has, Jackson got to have an "Access" word!!! Can you say "Red Velvet" :)

It was an entertaining book that earned a "Stay up all night and finish" spot in my library!!

ENJOY!

This is book two of the Club Volare series by Chloe Cox audio on unlimited kindle book from Amazon.
Ave and Jackson were in a relationship in their younger years but after Ave asked to be tied up Jackson couldn't tell Ave he secretly wanted to dominate her so he broke her heart and then became a member of Volare club to teach himself how to be a good Dom.
Years later Ave meets Jackson at the club and she becomes his submissive fora week.
This book has surprising twists with why Jackson left her and Ava's insecurities.
This book pushed the Dom/sub boundaries and Jackson at times did play games with Ave but overall story is good and incredibly hot with the scenes between Hh.
Really enjoyed the narrator and the flow of book looking forward to rest of series especially Lola book with Roman.

there were parts of this story that I very much liked and others that were OK for me. this was a more emotional story for ava and jackson and their journey was more in their emotions than the physical.

Chloe Cox does a wonderful job of creating the everyday character that anyone can identify with. The Heroine, Ava, has an alcoholic mother who has contributed to Ava's insecurities and trust issues. Jackson has been so terrified of becoming his abusive father that he has worked very hard to build himself into the man any mother would be proud of. Along the way, he forgot how to communicate. Okay, so that is just a man thing. These people are real. I liked them. I wanted to know them. I felt what they felt. Their coming together to help each other grow was inspiring. Some of the methods that Jackson employed were very creative. I have a new concept of a Dom helping a sub to fly. Wow! Did she fly! The metaphor of "baring ones self" was not lost on me. A wonderful romance with spice.

Tremendously delightful read. Ava and Jackson are trying to find their balance in life, together if Jackson's dreams become reality...but Eva is less than trusting with Jackson's intentions. Jackson has a deep fear, secret of who he might be. Ava holds back because Jackson merely takes. Action is sweetly paced - deliciously pushed and pulled. Life dreams and goals are tossed about like life preservers that allow you to cling, but not provide complete safety. In the end, trust is earned, love cultivated, and life-a dream come true.

Ava and Jackson (oh, how I love the name Jackson) are both more-than-slightly fucked up. She has Momma issues, he has Daddy issues. They were both abused, albeit in different ways, by their respective parents. They both carry the baggage associated with abuse--self-doubt, trust issues, intimacy aversion. They've loved one another for ten years, years Jackson spent becoming the man Ava already knew him to be and years Ava spent hiding, mostly from herself. Loved the story, but found the resolution very contrived and abrupt.

This is my least favorite of the series. I felt like Ava gave Jackson a second chance way too easily. However, it was still a fast, solid read.

Loved this book!

Read the first book in this series and my only regret was it took so long to find this author.I read book number one and right away went on to read book number 2 with a smile on my face knowing that I have 11 more to read. Loved Jackson and Ava's story. It touched all the bases for me. Romance, D/S interaction, kept me on the edge of my seat. I laughed, cried, inhaled, exhaled, and enjoyed every moment and emotion I experienced devouring every word. My only regret is not having a higher rating to give. Now on to the third story.

Not fun

New to this author and will binge read all titles I can find. Good scenes, real people, and a New York unknown to me as I was never in this income bracket. But it hot all my fantasy buttons.

Much of the anxiety between the main characters would have been solved if they had only TALKED ten years ago. She managed to give him confidence when he needed it most. Now he needs to do the same for her. Glad they finelly got together.

This is my 1st book by this author and I found it surprisingly really good! Kinky too but, for me, there must always be real people as the main focus. I really liked their story. So glad they found one another.

When I read one of Chloe Cox's stories I know what I get. Harlequin Presents meets BDSM escapism romances, with dashing heroes who sweep the heroines of their feet. So far, so good, I was in the mood for this kind of book and after having really enjoyed the first in the series which was a bit too hasty in the end, I wanted to know how the series continued.

Unfortunately, we don't get any scoop on Stella and her Sheikh who are betrothed after only a very short time of knowing each other. This story solely focuses on Ava Barnett and Jackson Reed. During the last ten years Jackson Reed has groomed himself into the man he thinks Ava wants and now finally the time has come to win her back.

The sex scenes in this book have real potential, the build up is incredibly arousing and sizzling, but nearly always, the scene ends too abruptly. And the whole being suspended from a roof thing was just too bizarre. I don't know if such a thing has been done before, BUT, if I want to suspend my sub from a skyscraper, I wouldn't ask someone else to set the whole scene up. I would want to control myself whether everything is ok, her life depends on that.

Ava runs away a lot from Reese, and frankly, it went on my nerves after a while and the whole conflict felt a little construed and staged. All in all, Tied to the Tycoon is a nice, diverting romance, I go with a C grade.

This is a great story about 2 people who were in love 10 years ago but screwed up and are now back together again. Both Jackson and Ava are broken people the problem is they have never learned how to open up to another person. This is a great story though about finding love and finding a way to let yourself be loved in return. I would recommend this book to anyone. This is another hit in this series but it can be read as a stand alone.

All over the place....

I liked Jackson because he cared about Ava. Ava seemed to be a bit unstable. I didn't feel like I had enough of the backstory on either character. It was like jumping into the middle of a scene and floundering your way through to the end.

This book was all over the place. was didn't seem to have that consistency or fluidity you get with a really good story.

I had really high hopes for this book after reading Cox's short story "The Lady Submits" which is put together fantastically and deserves 5 stars in my book, but I felt like the characters, although lovable, were a little too all-over the place. And of course it didn't really help that a lot of the sex scenes involved heights which totally turned me off! This poor acrophobe couldn't handle it.

Story of rekindled romance, Ava works in advertising but loves painting and Jackson owner of ArTech, college sweethearts until Ava tells Jackson her sexual fantasies. Jackson figures she'll be at an engagement party for a mutual college friend, so attends with the purpose to try and get Ava back.

Liked the story a lot

Nice and a little spicy. Ava and Jackson are nice characters. I don't know if I got to visualise some of the 'scenes', they were rather strange. I am finding the plot of these stories by Chloe Cox a little predictable, think I might give myself a break from them for a time. Nice story though, but nothing gripping.

I just could not get into this couple's relationship. I never got the full picture of their relationship and the 'one' night. Ava's fascade confused me too. Not to mention how her one painting changed Jackson so profoundly. I wouldn't recommend this one but definitely the next one in the Club Volare series.
