Fox Evans is an adventurer.
No roots. No responsibilities. No plans. Except one—he promised his baby sister he’d be at her wedding—a promise he intends to keep.
Life plans and weddings are put at risk when a blizzard delays them both in Zurich.
Neither was looking for love, but the heady combination of chocolates and alcohol makes sparks fly. When the snow thaws, and it’s time to say good-bye, perfect-plans and promises can’t be ignored.
Will Evie and Fox find their way back to each other, or will it only ever remain a brief stopover romance?
Margot Swan has always been able to lose herself between the pages of a book--to become a part of the story.
It has been one of her dreams to become an author, to weave her own stories and create wonderful worlds. Stories carried her through tough times, and books were her best friends when friends were scarce.
Margot Swan lives for a Happily Ever After. She's been called a sappy romantic, and she wears that badge with pride. Love stories are life, and the books she reads and writes need to be blissful.
Now, after years of encouragement, she's a writer of Contemporary and Paranormal Romance.
Margot Swan’s debut book is a fun romantic meet cute read! ***** Rating: 4 Stars Steam: 3 Flames Genre: Contemporary / Meet Cute ***** Delayed in Zurich by Ms. Margot Swan was a cute, sweet, steamy, easy read. I originally chose this book to fulfill one of my blocks on my 2021 reading challenge, but I will read book 2 for me.
Fox, our hero is a nomad, lone wolf, with wanderlust in his soul. Evie, a recent college graduate has dreams of Paris and travel, and maybe dreams of a romantic interlude with a handsome Parisian. Both on travel, Fox to his sister's wedding in California and Evie off on her dream vacation, both stuck in Zurich...where they are snowed in. A “meet cute” is about to happen.
This story was entertaining and flowed easily and the characters were engaging and likeable. There was steam and romance. A wonderful read on a cold Saturday afternoon! Can what starts as a romantic interlude turn into something more? Can two wild souls calm one another? Take a chance on a new author and curl up with some hot tea and a sweet and steamy book!
Evie is a smart, optimistic young woman excited for her first trip abroad alone. When she meets the exceptionally sexy Fox, sparks fly as the two are stranded in an airport during a blizzard.
This book was a cute, fun read and made me miss travelling and the airport experience. Evie and Fox have good chemistry and are characters you genuinely want to root for. I'm also a sucker for forced proximity and this story played with that in a good way, even if the airport portion is only the first half or so of a relatively short book. Despite the length, this book packs some serious steam into a small package! The ending was a definite HFN with room for sequels following secondary characters. Definitely recommend!
This book hit the spot like when you have a craving for something sweet and eat a piece of the best swiss chocolate. I love to read, but sometimes I just get into a rut and can't concentrate (Thanks Covid). This book actually pulled me out of this rut. It was exactly what I needed, not too long, not too heavy, but as sweet as chocolate and romantic as all get out. Evie is going on an adventure, flying from South Africa to France. She wants to see something new and finally quell some of her Wanderlust, before she starts working. The winter weather in Europe throws a wrench in her travel plans and strands her in Zurich. There she meets Fox, a man who has never felt compelled to set down some roots. Their chance meeting in Zurich changes everything for both Evie and Fox. This book was fun to read and soothed my covid battered mind.
Evie is going to France for her first solo dream trip after graduation. She meets Fox, a player and an adventurer, at Zurich when their flight gets delayed due to a blizzard. All their plans change when they fall for each other.
The story is romantic and adorable where the characters find their way towards each other. It is short, well written and has a combination of travel and romance with a lot of steamy scenes which will be adored by readers who like to read short romance novels.
Personal Take: This story was so dreamy. The characters were just adorable. After reading this book I too want to take a solo trip 😂. Hopefully soon
Book Review: Delayed in Zurich: A New Adult Romantic Comedy (The Vagabond Series Book 1) Author: Margot Swan My Rating: 5 Stars Reviewed by: Tammy - Book Nook Nuts
REVIEW This is a new to me author and a feel-good story. Evie is off on her first real holiday alone and she is feeling great, and can't wait to touch down in Paris...
Fox is supposed to make it to his sister's wedding, he promised but what can a guy do when nature is against you?
After one night stranded by snow, these two find more than loneliness in the arms of each other but what happens when the flights finally take off? This is a truly heartwarming story of firsts...
Delayed in Zurich is a quick, fun romantic story. See Paris, France, through the eyes of a young, enthusiastic, first-time traveler.
Evie, stranded in the Zurich airport, concerned about her carefully planned trip to Paris, meets a handsome stranger. With their instant chemistry, it's no wonder they tumble for each other. Will a one-night stand be all they are destined to have together?
Fox and Evie are complete opposites, but love cares not for such things. Fox is the care-free, never make a plan type, while Evie is focused on her future goals. As always, love has a way of making compromises easy.
The minor characters are delightfully deserving of their own stories. Evie's parents, brother, and best friend, as well as Fox's family, added a nice backstory and depth to this tale.
You will find some adult language and sexual encounters in the book. They are not out of place in a contemporary romance, but you can quickly skim over these parts without losing the focus of the story.
This is a lovely feelgood story from Margot Swan. Evie, a marine biologist, was following her dream to leave her native South Africa and visit Paris before settling down to her new job at the aquarium. Fox was a nomadic soul, his family in America had money and Fox was left to follow his dreams where they led him. A storm over Zurich, closing the airport, led to a chance meeting between Fox and Evie, the chemistry was electric from the beginning but at the end of two wonderful days in Zurich the airport would open and Evie would continue her journey to Paris to follow her dream and Fox would return to America. With no contact details could Evie forget Fox and could Fox forget the beautiful Evie. A heart warming quick read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved Evie and Fox's story. The way they are both wanting to get out there and explore the world. Fox is a restless soul, travelling from one place to another and never feeling the need to settle. Evie has barely left her home and has a need to explore more, even with her over protective father. When they meet in Zurich airport whilst stranded due to the weather, they form a bond neither of them can deny. But then they have to go their separate ways in less than 48 hours. It's not a long story but I really felt the connection between the two characters, even though they were opposites in many ways, they were also so much alike. I loved the ending and would love to read more about them and their friends.
I have been excited for this book since I saw the original cover reveal and read the blurb. I still cannot believe that Margot is a first-time author.
I found this story to be absolutely whimsical and enchanting, a chance meeting when snowed in on a layover, a one-night affair that left two hearts changed.
Fox really brought out the best in Evie and the same could be said for the world traveler, Fox.
I felt that these two were natural characters that you could almost believe you could meet in real life. And their situation was also something I could see happening to someone IRL.
I'm super excited to catch up with this couple again next year when Fox's brother, Finn gets his story.
Sweet book. I love a holiday romance and what was lovely about this is that the holiday trips had barely started because of the layover due to the blizzard. Evie is such a sweet heart. Bless her. I love how much she loves her parents. Reminds me of myself. And Fox wanting to protect his sister is adorable too. Man after my own heart. Margot Swan is onto a winner here. She is on instagram and I follow her and she's amazing. Thank you for writing this. Just what I needed as a perfect escape
This book has all the feels. It has everything a holiday romance needs and more. Super hot Fox and gorgeous Evie take you with them on their amazing journey as they discover each other and explore their steaming hot chemistry. You will want to put your life on hold and immerse yourself in this wonderfully romantic story, laughing and holding your breath as they take a chance on each other. I cannot recommend this one enough.
I never though a layover delay in an airport could be swoon worthy! The chemistry between Evie and Fox is hot from the start. They compliment each other and make you fall in love with their story. A beautifully written unconventional relationship between two characters finding their way in the world.
Evie wanted a holiday by herself, but ended up getting delayed in Zurich due to a blizzard. There she meets Fox. Evie and Fox fall quickly in love. This book shows how once you find the one, you will do anything to stay with them. I enjoyed the love between Evie and Fox, and hope for more good things when reading Fox’s brother’s story.
If this is what Margot’s books are going to be like then I can’t wait to read all of her books as she writes them! I’m normally not a fan of the fall in love quick types but the way this was written and how she was able to make you feel with the characters definitely changed my mind about quick love. Loved it!!
Awww! Well this was such a quick and lovely story! I enjoyed this book! Nothing too heavy! A cute feel-good love story with great characters! Evie and Fox had such a great chemistry and all I'm saying is: It got HOOOT in there! Damn!! 🔥🔥🔥 I loved their insta-connection! Yeah! That's all I'm saying! 4 lovely stars for their story! I liked it! 😀
Please excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor!! Seriously loved this debut from Margot! I couldn’t put it down and it had me wanting more! This book had everything I love! Sweet, sappy, steamy, sexy! Love love love! The details were perfect, and the storyline had me hooked from the beginning! I highly recommend this book to all of my friends!
Fun, sweet and cute! Who would think I'd miss airports and travel? I loved getting the feel for travel from this in addition to the love story. This novella was just the right size for a fun getaway romance. It really is like a Hallmark movie, but with hotter scenes!
So my main critique of the book would be that I wanted more, which is great in a lot of ways, but at the same time it felt like some of the story was missing. It was very short and very insta-love. Everything happened quickly over a short timeline without as much development as I was hoping for.
I did like the writing style and would try a longer book by this author in the future. If you're looking for a light, quick read this would be a good choice, especially if you like novellas. This wasn't technically a novella, but it had the feel of one, and I think it would appeal more to the novella audience.
I received a copy of this book at my request (and could read it for free in KU). The opinions in this review are my own.
Two travellers taking solo trips, end up spending a few days in Zurich airport all because of a snowstorm. Apparently, the weather just might have gone into the love business!
Evelyn (Evie) Mason has always wanted to travel on a solo trip. See the sights she wants to see, spend her days how she wants to spend them. Travelling with family and friends is fine, but sometimes there are things you want to see and experience and by travelling solo, you’re in charge.
Fox Evans has always been a bit of a loner. He didn’t want anything to do with the family business, loved to ride around on his motorcycle but most of all loved to wander. He is self-employed and can travel and run his business without worrying about being tied down.
Evie was on her way to Paris via Zurich while Fox was on his way home to California for his sisters wedding also via Zurich. Zurich on the other hand was suffering through a snowstorm no planes in, and NO PLANES OUT! Fox and Evie are out of luck, until, Fox spots Evie and well, he makes his own luck.
This has got to be one of the freshest, sweetest books I have read in awhile. When I say sweet, I mean this couple is delightful! The instant attraction and sexual tension that sparks between them is off the charts. Author Margo Swan gives us two people who think one thing but slowly change their minds when they realize that they have met that special someone to travel through life with.
Following Evie’s adventures once she arrives in Paris and Fox’s family visit in the U.S. allow the reader to see the changes in both Evie and Fox as they realize maybe their Zurich adventure could turn into more.
This is author Margot Swan’s first book and what a wonderful book it was. I’m hoping that Evie and Fox make a reappearance in a future book of hers, this is a couple a reader would love to see again! I laughed, I sighed and I was happy to see how things turned out for these two high flyers!
