"'Cause if I don't, you're gonna get yourself in trouble. Then I'm gonna have to hear some sad news story about a pretty small-town girl named Lacey Stephens who ended up dead in a ditch somewhere."
After the boy she's crushed on for years plays a cruel prank, Lacey Stephens ends up stranded in Winnipeg with nothing but what's in her backpack. In a moment of recklessness she doesn't realize will change her life forever, Lacey boards a train headed west to find the brother she hasn't seen since their religious father kicked him out of their house ten years ago.
But when trouble finds her first and she's saved by a tall, stoic man with dark eyes, a tight smile, and a good heart, Lacey starts to realize the life she had in her small, northern town was anything but normal... or safe. Determined to break free, Lacey contends with her family, her surroundings, and feelings she didn't know were possible.
Part coming-of-age story, part love letter to Canada, part steamy romance, Runaway follows the twists and turns of Lacey's journey, with plenty of steamy stops along the way.
This feel-good romance deals with themes of religious trauma and toxic family relationships. While no graphic scenes occur, readers may want to view the trigger warnings included in the first pages of the book.

This was so good, I read the whole thing in one day, read all the follow-up stories in the same day, and re-read the entirety of Runaway again the next day, just to fall in love with Lacey and Noah again. I see a lot of my past self in Lacey, and Noah is everything I wish I'd had. I loved watching the characters and the relationships between them change and grow, as they made mistakes, owned up to them, and learned from them. The dialogue, narrative, plot - everything is great, and the vivid portrayal of Canada is fantastic as well.
For those who love a good erotic romance fiction, this book is for you. The story draws you in with its 1st person POV narrative of its main character Lacey Stephens, and the dialogue that flows so naturally. The sex scenes are neither contrived or forced but rather enhance the storyline. Ultimately it’s a beautifully crafted love story with a couple of neat plot twists and the immensely likeable characters of Lacey and Noah. This book will have you believing in the power of love that can overcome vast differences between two people.
I’ve read the series twice now and both times I got drawn in and felt deeply for the characters. It’s a beautifully crafted story about true love overcoming diversity, setbacks and trauma. You can’t help but cheer for Lacey and Noah. With natural, believable dialogue, great character development, and erotic scenes that enhance the story rather than detract; you can help but love this series. A must read!
A great read. An erotic romance with a good balance between the romance and erotica - Cheryl offers "Enjoyment of the story AND the spice with steamy, sensual scenes that drive the plot" and that was what this story gave. It was a compulsive read and I am looking forward to the next chapter
Runaway was so good, I read the whole thing in one day, read all the follow-up stories the same day, and re-read the entirety of Runaway again the next day, just to fall in love with Lacey and Noah again. I see a lot of my past self in Lacey, and Noah is everything I wish I'd had. I loved watching the characters and the relationships as they made mistakes, owned up to them, and learned from them. Finding Home was especially lovely in portraying Lacey and Noah's growing and changing relationship beyond the initial falling in love. I really enjoyed seeing them working through conflicts and overcoming obstacles to really build their lives together. The dialogue, narrative, plot - everything is great, and the vivid portrayal of Canada is fantastic as well.
It’s wonderful to see that when everything goes so horribly wrong, there’s a person , however unlikely that makes it all right again. Against all odds.
