Sailing across the ocean, to volunteer in the World's Great War, Libby has just uttered the biggest lie of her life. While worrying over her deception, and hoping for forgiveness, she can't help but think about the people affected. The people who she has come to call family. Through events seemingly as random as the landing of rain upon concrete, their paths converged. Events, both heartbreaking and uplifting. Every story has a beginning, just as every story has an end. But, for Libby and her boys, how long will their story be?
I cried several times. There were thoughtful and unexpected twists throughout the book. The author had a unique way of reintroducing the characters as the story progressed. I am riveted and will definitely read the next book. My only critique is the volume of commas requiring my brain to pause unnecessarily when the prose should have flowed seamlessly. Overall the book is brilliant.
