Evil grips the realm of Faladir, but the forces of Light strike boldly at the very heart of Darkness...

A shadow lies over the kingdom, and it reaches out to lands beyond. Searching. For there are those who yet defy it.

Faran and Ferla, two simple hunters marked by fate, seek refuge from the sorcerer-knights who pursue them. They find it in the hidden halls of a master swordsman. Over time, he teaches them how to survive, but well must they learn his lessons.

For a day will come when they choose to be hunted no more. Instead, they will pit themselves against a knight who has never known defeat, and who brings soldiers and creatures of sorcery against them…

I am a man born in the wrong era. My heart yearns for faraway places and even further afield times. Tolkien had me at the beginning of The Hobbit when he said, ". . . one morning long ago in the quiet of the world . . ."

I love to read high fantasy and epic fantasy novels, and I have a passion to write, to weave a story with words that draws the reader into another world.

Again the story was a direct continuation of the first 2 books. At the end of the book, "seventh knight" is revealed. More development of place and characters, adding in a bit of a new culture only mentioned in the previous books. The last 2 books put an emphasis on the development of the main characters training, going from simple hunters from a small village to being KNIGHTS or knight-like in their world. I would not recommend starting here.

Wowser!

Intense ending. And a surprise in store for the reader. Looking forward to seeing how this story wraps up.
I didn't realize that there is going to be a 4th book so I'm a little disappointed 😞. But the surprise brightens my spirits. So come on October 2020. Great stories and love the cover art.

Great tale

I wasn’t sure at first, too many similarities to the Dark God Rises so I held off reviewing until the story had developed and develop it did. A really good tale putting Kareste into centre frame, I think, and developing two new characters into powerful roles.
Very enjoyable Sword and Sorcery, looking forward to the next few books.

Good. Spoilers ahead

Ok ok. I saw it coming a mile away. Hopefully the next book would be better. This was more of sitting, learning, talking, more talking more debating. But where the story is going it's all needed. I hope more of menendil is there in the next one. Loved his parts.

The saga continues to grow. WOW!

The journey of Faran and Ferla continues with new characters too time their training.
As they develop their skills they become more in their friendship and trust. A great battle erupts and the seventh knight is finally revealed. Who will it be? Read this book to revel in the developing adventures and fight against the evil.

Thoroughly enjoyable read

Really love where this tale is taking me so far. Loving the wisdom from ancient, marital & spiritual backgrounds that's contained within these pages, and weaves effortlessly into the storyline. Beautiful character development. Excited to start book number 4.

Hmmm....

Slow.
Detailed endless fights.
Detailed endless training...with more detailed fights.
And some character development...
And more mentors to lead the way...
And the antagonists are just creepy.

Good easy read. Great price for such good work.
The series is well crafted with a good hook.
I enjoy the protagonist and his sidekicks. I like that the book leaves you on a high note. Once a reader has become invested in the storyline and the characters involved , the author should end his story leaving his customer satisfied.
I do appreciate that .
Good work.
