Something sinister brews deep in rural Wyoming. A movement. A liberation. An uprising.
Meanwhile, chasing loose ends in Nassau, King and Slater witness an act so shocking they can hardly comprehend it. They realise they have no choice but to investigate, abandoning The Bahamas for the Thunder Basin National Grassland in Wyoming. Their pursuit leads them to a shadowy cult occupying a commune in the isolated heart of the prairie.
Mother Libertas, led by their mysterious and seductive messiah Maeve Riordan, is like nothing King and Slater have ever seen before, its followers fuelled by a mind-bending drug known only as Bodhi. Alongside Alexis and Violetta, they go down the rabbit hole in order to destroy the cult, but they end up fighting not just for their survival but their sanity…

This is not the best in the series. But it's a fairly good read. King is thinking of taking a year-long hiatus, leaving Slater to do the heavy hitting. Unfortunately, the current situation forces him to do what he does best.
An Unknown Cult In Wyoming, Using A Powerful Drug To Recruit Followers..
Another absolutely fantastic story by author Matt Rogers, bringing King, Slater, Alexis and a pregnant Violetta to a point of fear for themselves and the baby Violetta carries. This Team continues to stick together through everything, although as they try to become integrated in this commune they find each one of them is segregated alone...Needing to rely on their own willpower, smarts and the bodies they have toned and worked on so that muscles react without thinking! An intriguing read that leaves you thinking just how easy a person can enslave others, making them believe deeply in Anything you say.. A book that makes each one of the Team think of what they have, and do anything to protect it..Especially King, as he realizes that he now has a new family member to protect, the baby resting in Violetta's womb, and he will, and often does, use his skills in any possible way to save that baby... Action, Adventure, Amazing scenes... All which make this book the 5 STAR story you can not get enough of!! An outstanding book in the 'King & Slater' series!!!
Ever wonder how a cult is built to its strength and then intensified and compounded? Did you wonder how people who are intelligent can be convinced to betray their own morals even to the point of killing and/or torturing those they love or committing suicide.... we have seen it happen as with the Jonestown Massacre, Charles Manson, and quite a few others...How do you destroy the evil? Read and learn.
When you think cults do exist in our world, it's scarey! Messiahs was just that, scarey and a gripping read! I couldn't put it down. As always Matt just writes the best stories and King & Slater are always fantastic! So anxious for the next one.
Thanks Matt, always love hearing from you and your next books! Irene
King, Slater, take on a vicious cult in Midwest America along with Violetta & Alex's they infiltrate and learn the truth about Malvern & Dane Rickmansworth plans to controll the USA by means of a powerful drug Bohdi and brainwashing. Brutal and deadly force needed to defeat and escape with their lives not easy with 200 + converts controlled by mind altering drugs.
Until the end of the book. I thought that it was a bit of a standalone story. However it is a bridge book.
The end of the book leads onto a very interesting development. I am going to take a break from the series as it has been eating through my Audible credits. But hopefully be returning in the near future.
Book started out slow and became a speeding train heading for a crash which it survived. The Bohdi lives and is coming back! Slater and King look like they are heading to D.C. in the near future.
Matt Rogers has done it again.......Great story interesting characters with plenty of detail........and of course it wouldn’t be a King & Slater book with out plenty of action. Really enjoy these books and the storyline’s always differ....thanks Matt keep up the good work...
King and Slater at their best. Always a great read. Lots of thrills and excitement. Non stop action. Good story line. Looking forward to reading more about these two.
Another great read. Loved it. Mr. Roger's does fight sequences and highly tense situations like no one else. And King and Slater are his weapons of choice. Can't wait for the next one.
I love the simplicity of the stories of King and Slater. Their characters take us, the readers, on a journey through hell and back giving us an amazing thrill ride on the way. Raw but entertaining tales of pure action.
Too much introspective talking for my tastes but interesting in story line and the telling. I don't think I will be reading the sequels as the stage was set for more of the same.
I love this series. It just keeps getting better. I can't put the books down. Rogers has introduced characters that you come to admire and hope they always survive
oK so it's fiction, but this one seemed to Gona tad to far on the disbelief scale The action is still good, the character interaction brilliant and the intrigue engrossing, but the cult just seemed just to far out there to have been missed by the authorities and needing King & Slater's intervention
Good read but guessed what was going to happen a i have read similar situations but still like reading about Slater King almost feel like i know them .
