BRANDED is a story about how a person who is enmeshed in the complexities of immigration, tribal feuds, competing religions, regressive cultural inhibitors and socio-economic lethargies can rise from singing songs of despair to leading a chorus of a symphony that exuberates the audiences. It conveys a dream-like realistic-naturalistic depiction of the biblical prophecy of Prophet Ezekiel’s “vision of the dry bones”.
Angelinah's story of resilience is very inspiring. With some parts nostalgic for the African girl child and some elements of self-help for every girl, this story proves that with hope and perseverance dreams do come true. I hope many a girl child get to read Angelinah's story and are encouraged to dream big and be the change.
