Bound To Silence: Justice For My Son
A popular verse from the Bible states, “And a little child shall lead them.” That passage speaks about how an innocent child untainted by the perils of the world can lead a whole group of people out of darkness & despair. In this story, that child is Ishmael Roberson the ten year old son of community activist, Sheema Roberson known as Mama Sheema. Those perils Ishmael was chosen to lead black people out of was the web of chaos on the streets of Memphis. A chaos which was produced as a result of years of racism and the unjustified killings of black people. After witnessing alone of those killings, Ishmael becomes a target and is bound to silence by the very people who vowed to serve and protect their community. The only wrinkle in the rotten machine’s plan was the strong forces that Ishmael had behind him. Soon, a civil war ensued followed by a revolution that was decades in the making! That revolution was televised, and is now being transcribed and emphasized in this riveting tale. "Bound To Silence: Justice For My Son" by Niki Jilvontae
My Speculation:
All that is left to say about "Bound To Silence: Justice For My Son" is Wow what a good read this author has presented to us. Yes, it is quite a 'powerful' read that can be identified in what is going on with many of us today [2020]. The three main characters...Ish, Sheema, and Rah were off the chart well presented in the lives of Black Lives Matter even here in great old America 2020 in all are going on in this story. I believe this author did an excellent job of capturing it all, where I loved at the end how the story turned out with those getting just what they deserved.
You will have to pick this novel up and see for yourselves how well this author brings this subject matter out to us all. There is definitely be a subject matter to ponder over long after the read. I will also say this is a very fitting read, especially in what is going on in America, 2020.

Justice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a powerful and positive read! Sheema Rah and Ish along with others had me praying for a day a time when BLM will become a reality. You gave inspiration in this book, along with the daily truth of Black ppl in Ameeikka. Social media can be a very positive platform when used in the right way and this family showed that.
It's past time to take back our neighborhood streets, our children, it's time to build each other up vs tearing down.
Thank you for this read and for adding some romance in the midst of chaos. ❤

Awesome book
This was a heart wrenching awesome book about what is happening in today's society. I couldn't put It down and I'm so glad I can read again. Niki is definitely a awesome author who puts her all into a book. I'm glad justice was served for Roland and Teka.

Great book
I recommend this book because it is a excellent read vision of what we a african Americans see every day in our communities and this is how i feel things should be we all need to start sticking together.

A great story
I loved this story and how close it hit to home and everything going on today. It gives hope that all we need is to focus, plan, and unite and we can, in fact change the world.

Amazing
This book was beautifully written. It was over too soon. I was in tears for most of it but it was powerful. What will it take for these events to be a success? Like an economic blackout?
