Kara is at her bar working, when it’s announced her planet has surrendered to Magisterian Dominion and her government has agreed to war reparations.
It’s expected this will truly go into affect in a week or so, when the treaty is finalized and signed. So, when soldiers barge into the bar along with cameras, Kara and her fellow female patrons attempt to stand firm when ordered to strip. It doesn’t last long.
The women no longer have any standing in their society, titles, property or even their full names. Gregor, a patron also at the bar, is given ownership and rights over the women. And they’re all now staring in the War Brides show, being filmed and broadcast for all to view.
This was a searingly sexual, well written story, with interesting characters. I found the combination of the reparations, the War Bride show and being filmed, to be an intriguing combination. I’ll definitely continue to look for and read Emily Tilton.

Our heroine is just a prize from the conquerors, and they intend to display their prize in a very public manner.
This story is something a little different from our author in that it is a standalone, not part of any of her main series that I am aware of.
That being said, it is still an erotic story featuring D/S and punishment, primarily spanking, so it does have something in common with the others. The story is well written and easy to read as well, with an interesting setting and good solid characters. And the characters are where our story is focused, particularly on our heroine who has a very educational journey in front of her. What will she learn? Well that is what you have to read to find out (although you can probably guess if you have read any other stories by this author). I liked the change of scenery in this story as well as our heroine, providing another fine bit of steamy entertainment.
Highly recommended.

Steamy read. Kara is going from owning a popular tavern to a war bride after her planet has surrendered to the Magisterian. Now she owns nothing as her rights and property have been taken from her. What will her new master have in store for her? Entertaining and off the charts hot. I liked it.

I like Emily Tilton and have read other books by her. This book kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I enjoyed the Gregor character, he was smart and easy to like under the circumstances. It is set in another world so it is entirely an entertaining read. I also like her two other friends Unna and Frela. The whole premise is that their planet was taken over and they end up on this "reality show" to show everyone that the Magisterians are in charge. I did read a couple of instances where the events had similarities to current events, or maybe I just read too much into them. Great book.

War Bride is the first book in a new series by Emily Tilton and is a good start. The Magisterian Dominion has taken over the world of bar owner Kara Hannafin. She and 2 of her friends/customers are told they are now war brides and their orientation/sexual humiliation will be broadcast to the entire world. In the Magisterian society females have no free will, no standing, no land or property, they are subservient sexual slaves to the males. Gregor, also a bar patron, is given these 3 women to dominate and train. This is a common theme throughout most Emily Tilton's books. The book is fast paced, interesting, a little squirmy at times, but overall a good read. I'm looking forward to more in the series.

The book was delicious and mouth watering! There is something truly erotic about “owning” soneone else; having their entire life controlled by you. In this story there are elements of fantasy and science fiction, but the most of it is dominant submissive relations.
Reading about how the submissive melted when they had their holes used, had their minds used, and had their spirits broken when they were spanked was yummy. But above all of those things, reading how the subs thought about what they were feeling was sexy. Many of them reached climax just by the words spoken to them: “Good girl” “Gregor’s Kara” and saying “Yes Sir”.
I gave this 5/5. The writing was good, the premise was exquisite!

Wow I do enjoy a good hot read and with anything that this author writes is usually off the charts....
When her world Hippolyta is overtaken by the Magistrates Dominion for a serious wrong Bar owner Kara’s life and that of her friends change when soldiers barge into the bar and are announced, they are no longer allowed to be independent losing all right and property and they’re given to their new master Gregor as War Brides, and is thoroughly disciplined on universal tv in front of everyone.
This was one very hot panty melting erotic read and I definitely can’t wait to read more from this author..

This is a quick, easy, hot read. However, I didn't find it was quite up to what I have come to expect from Emily. The storyline was not that strong, with one world "winning" control; of another. By doing so, they then decide that a bar owner Kara along with her friends Frela and Unna will become War Brides, to thier friend Gregor. Gregor must control, dominate and "use"' his girls or all face being taken to another place for training. Reluctantly, Gregor decides to do as they bid, in order to save them all from the alternative. But, all this happens, including the ending in the space of 24hrs and much of what the book promises just deosn't materlise or is very rushed.

This book is fast paced, interesting, intriguing and there is the common theme that is in Ms. Tilton's books. It seems that Kara's planet has just surrendered to the Magisterian Dominion and she finds out later that she is going to be losing her bar and will be a War Bride. Kara and her female friends try to push the soldiers out of her bar. They find out they have no standings and can't own property. They are given to the new owner, Gregor, and as he stripes them, spanks them, punish them it's all broadcasted in the War Brides Show that's being filmed. A very steamy sci-fi story! Gregor gets more than he bargained for when he steps into Kara's bar but luckily keeps his wits about him. He is so in love with Kara and the chemistry between them is hot. There are quite a few steamy scenes as he interacts with others as well, but he manages to keep that connection with Kara. It was a fun read and very different than what I had expected!

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Kara owns a bar, friends Feel a and Unna are both attorneys all talking around the bar. Hippolytans are at war with the Magisterians Dominion. Mr Gregor Blanco likes to come to the bar just to see Kara. This book was so hot and steamy with emotions that makes you feel like you are on a rollercoaster ride.

Fun little book, a little slow
Emily has her own writing style and I enjoy many of her books. I like her institution books or the Institute and enjoy the bound for service series . The Pretorian Guard certainly have a different take on the world and is fascinating to read. I am not all that crazy about in the future conquered worlds by different Alien species, however this book also seemed to drag in its pace telling the story.

not my fav … too demeaning
I read this book with a pained and cringing look on my face. It had some good scenes but the way the women were treated was too demeaning and there was no redemption for the characters.
I’ve read a lot of these types of books, and most allow for some type of power balance. Not this one. It was enough that I’m not reading the rest of the series. Too cringy.

This author has a way of taking an idea and flipping it on its head. I liked this story though the beginning was shocking. It was effective in capturing my interest and attention though. The horrifying thought that this could actually happen in futuristic times is what captivated me. I liked how the author played the story out.

This short story has a preposterous premise, which is not enough for 2 stars, but my main issue is the focus on sexual reluctance and a lack of consent/safe word. Light punishment, lots of exhibition situations, very little thought about women's pleasure (but somehow they climax no problem). Also a clunky, too-wordy writing style.

Ms Tilton weaves helplessness and arousal expertly in this delightful romp. I wonder how any of us would respond to a conquerors sexual demands. These demands are not for your benefit but solely to demonstrate your submission, humiliation and abject obedience! A heady mixture.

It’s an interesting storyline
It’s one of those stories that happens in a couple of days. It’s like Ed TV. Where three intelligent women are forced to perform intimate acts for a TV show. The women are professionals and the city that they live in has been put into some kind of law that takes away women’s rights. It’s interesting but not my cup of tea.

Great read
The whole series is great, but I think I like this story the best of all. All 3 women and guys got who they really wanted. Also it didn't seem to be as much in the way of punishment as in the others.
All in all this is a excellent read and I look forward to more stories by Ms. tilton

I am not a fan of this genre dystopian/fantasy stories. But it is a curious read and makes you question what you would do if your world was turned upside down, your rights violated and how you would survive.

I decided to try a couple of this author’s books. Big mistake. I took the warnings into account, however they’re not strong enough in my opinion.
I have no problem with dominant male & submissive females but I found the total humiliation of females here, just awful. It felt less erotic, but very pornographic.
I know there is a market for these types of books, but they’re not for me.
Buyer beware.

Wasn't sure!!
When I read the blurb I thought seems interesting. And it is!!
When I read the blurb I thought seems a bit odd. And it is!!
Then I started to read it a thought, hmm this seems extremely degrading towards the female populace, and it really, really is!!
BUT it's also quite empowering for the women too!!
At first I really thought I'd made a huge mistake with this book, but in all honesty, I'm seriously glad I took the risk and now I can't wait to read the rest.
If you want something that's actually quite different than what's currently out there, then take a chance on this. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Recommend a hundred percent!!
