Rhett and his team desperately search for Ava while one of the Remnant Council joins forces with another network looking for the creator of the Helix serum. And time is running out. CODE was a heart pounding addition to the ISAN series! With a gritty and rugged story-line, that held a lot of heart, this book was impossible to put down! If you're a fan of YA or dystopian, then you definitely need to add this series to your tbr!
"You are worth every gamble I took to find you.”

The story started off right where GENE ended, with Eva and Rhett separated and so many lives at stake. I know this isn't how I normally write my reviews but I have to talk about the twists first! They were brilliant! There was so much at play, the story played out ingeniously and my mind was blown. I gasped out loud multiple times, screamed and kept whispering to myself this isn't how the story was supposed to go. I didn't see multiple things coming. But looking back, ohhhhhh the clues were there, I just put the pieces of the puzzle together wrong. So hold on, because this story will take you on a wild and crazy ride!
Sometimes when one person couldn’t see the light, another had to carry the torch. I would carry that torch and make it brighter for the both of us. - Ava

CODE was told in multiple POVs again and we got to spend the majority of our time with Ava and Rhett. They have a forever place in my heart. I love how they're both smart, brave, caring, fearless and would do anything for each other. And watching their love grow stronger and deeper in each book?! My happiness soars when they can breathe for a moment and are together. They are the ultimate power couple! In CODE both of their emotions were put through the wringer but they each had the same end goal. To take Novak and ISAN down. I loved how Ava continually looked for Novak and Gene's weak points and was defiant to their plans. With a psychopath for a brother and monster for a father, my heart continually bled for Ava. I longed for her to be back together with Rhett, for him to help her feel his love.
Too late. Too late. Too late. The words echoed with devastating finality. – Mitch

We also got to hear parts of the story from Mitch. Oh how he has grown on me. If you asked me in ISAN if I liked Mitch....oh wow, I would have laughed out loud and told you no. He was such an arrogant jerk. But there was more than meets the eye. Mitch was cunning and smart. He felt things deeply. And in CODE he made friends and so much I can't talk about other then I loved, loved, loved it! It was more than I ever could have hoped for. I'm just as invested in Mitch's life and happiness, as Ava and Rhett. And that terrifies me. The position Mitch is in is beyond dangerous and I never know if this current moment will be his last.
Justine couldn’t believe her fate. Damned if she did, and damned if she didn’t.
How do I do the right thing when I’m so scared, Mitch?

Justine was another who we got to spend some time with. I hated her. And to put all of my cards on the table, I hated her for even a good portion of this book too haha. But getting to hear a few chapters in Justine's head?! Oh you guys. She wiggled her way into my heart. Curse her lol. Justine even made me cry tears that couldn't be stopped. Sigh. So good luck trying to ignore all of the feelings she'll pull from you, because for me it was impossible to ignore.

We would fight for justice.
We would fight for peace.
We would bring the rest of ISAN down.

In addition, we got to spend a few chapters with Chancellor Josephine Chang who was beyond fascinating. Her ties and connections. What she did when she was not around Rhett, Ava, Zen or the public eye, WOW. There's not much I can say other then I enjoyed the little time we got to spend with Chancellor Chang and I'm hoping for something to happen in her future, fingers crossed!
Something crunched under Rhett’s feet. He looked down to see ... bones. Human bones?
“Is that...?” Zeke gasped.
Cleo’s eyes rounded and her lips parted to scream.

CODE had it all! Horrific plans were made, traps were set, people switched sides, impossible decisions were made and there was even sacrifice. I had sweaty palms in multiple situations. And new enemies we meet.....one of them is what nightmares are made of *shudders*. At the end of the day, I was terrified because I cared for too many people. But I smiled so much and loved being back with these people that feel like family to me. They are the ultimate squad that I want to be a part of! Rhett, Ava, Mitch, Brooke, Ozzie, Reyna, Momo and a few others, I kept hoping they would all survive!
We girls should lift each other up, support each other. We should ignite each other’s beautiful souls and not douse them in darkness. And that was the kind of friendship I had with some of the girls at the rebel base. - Ava

Coursing with adrenaline, CODE was impossible to put down! And with love and friendship winding throughout the pages, it evened this book out perfectly. So with a richly imagined world, characters that leapt off the pages and a story that kept you turning just one more page, this book easily became an instant favorite! Plus it ended at the perfect stopping and breathing point. But I'll definitely be counting down until that next book comes out, I can't wait!

Two other quotes that I loved…
I took another step toward him and another as something hot bubbled inside me. “I felt a lot of pain the second I found out you were my brother. It’s like being told the devil shares your blood. Do you even know what that feels like? Do you have any feelings at all?”- Ava

“Why me?” Mitch frowned.
Russ offered a sly grin. “You’re good at scheming and deceiving. That’s what you do well.”
Mitch chuckled. “Did you just give me a compliment? Are we getting along?”
Russ cackled and tapped the screen to close. “I think it’s a start of a beautiful friendship. But seriously , we’re here so think fast.”

OMG, the ending to this story made me snot cry like crazy!!

The characters were amazing just as they have been throughout this entire adventure. I still think Ava was my favorite. She was so strong and a level headed main character. My connection with not only Ava but each character in the story was so immensely powerful that I kept hoping that each of them would make it out be back together once again.

The storyline was phenomenal!! I couldn't put the book down. It was full of so many shocking scenes and each scene had love, compassion, adventure, suspense, sadness and even some hate woven within the story and it made for quite the page turner. And that ending, I didn't see that coming and a box of tissues is needed for it for sure. Ting had made this an exciting story that kept me turning pages to find out what would happen next. I was on the edge of my seat for most of this story and though the ending was sad, but what a fabulous way to end the book and leaving craving the next book!!! This was my favorite story out of the entire series so far and I will for sure find myself revisiting this story just to enjoy the ride time and time again. I highly recommend this read!!

What can I say? I am thrilled to have continued reading about these characters’ journeys through this dystopian adventure. There were new challenges to face and even bigger realizations in Ava’s life. She went through so much already in the rest of the books but she experienced some of the worst emotional trauma in this book. She takes large risks for everything she fought so hard for; her mother, father, Rhett, and her friends. Rhett is an amazing partner to Ava and continues to show his love, loyalty and dedication to her.
Novak is truly a monster and his true intentions come out in full force in this book. His plot to turn the world’s children into assassins with no family, no emotion is cruel. His character is very smart, cunning, manipulative and psychotic. He makes for a very interesting villain.
Tamera was one of my favorite characters to follow in the series. She is a loyal and true friend to the rebel family. Her skill set is impressive and fun to read.
I am still intrigued by the ANS group and Council Chang’s true intentions. It is quite the conundrum, wondering where the next chapter of this story will go.
It was a great read and I am so glad to have found this great series. Mary Ting has created an intriguing world of challenges, heartache, love, disaster, deception, and triumph. I recommend any fan of fantasy fiction to give this series a try.

Code grips you and doesn't let go until the very end. This is my favorite book of the series so far. Not only is it filled with action, but also jaw dropping moments that had me anxious and excited to read the next chapter. I was left in tears at some parts, but had to channel my inner Ava. I admire her resilience; she is a dandelion among the thorned roses in the ISAN world. "Dandelions put down deep roots and are impossible to destroy."

In this continuation of Isan, book 4 is just as exciting as the rest in the series. Our heroes are once again in a bad position but nothing that they can't overcome (at least one hopes anyway). As before, the story is exciting and keeps the reader moving forward. This is a story not to be missed!

OMG Mary! Fans of this series, buckle up because you are in for a ride. This story was AMAZING and will leave you shell shocked as each new revelation is revealed. You will cheer on the sidelines for the Rebels and Renegades as they fight to overcome evil. Once again, Rhett is unwavering in his love for Ava, letting his heart lead him to her. Loved every single word, from beginning to end.

Code is a monumentally powerful and epically earth-shattering masterpiece. This book is a spectacular addition to this incredibly phenomenal series. Heart-stopping and shock-inducing is the perfect description of the mega twists and turns that will slam your heart and revive your spirit along this twisted and heart-warming journey. It is truly a beautiful dychotemy of the human spirit and condition passed down in a fun and exciting form of a tale full of precious teachings and hope filled moments.

Ava has finally found herself on the most dangerous mission of her life. She must face her worst fears while battling against her deadliest nightmares comes to life. She must rely on instincts and heart to get her through the darkness because when the light comes, she is walking out to meet her love no matter what it takes. Rhett is laser focused on following his heart. There may be delays, but no one will stand in his way. He will walk through Hell itself to find his dandelion, and he will bring her home. Will they both complete their mission as planned, or will they find that they have only walked into a long planned and well thought out trap?

Ava and Rhett never fail to inspire and delight with their depth of passion and loyalty. They know nothing but the call and hope of being in each other's arms again. What lies ahead is shrouded in mist and fog of countless deceptions and endless lies. Even still, their hope and love shines as a container beacon for themselves and their friends. Nothing will stand in their way, and their enemies will know that they are truly resilient.

Mary Ting has proven yet again that she knows how to wield her own and her heart with unimaginable power and precision. The creativity she wields is beautifully endless and stunningly brilliant. Her words will always seek to summon love and work to revive hope. After all, we can't hope to truly live if we don't choose to honestly love.

Wow, Mary Ting knows how to grip the reader by the emotions and keep them intrigued throughout this entire series. Code appears to be the last book in the series but the fight isn't over for the fight for freedom isn't over, so I'm hoping there is more to come. I fell in love with Rhett and Ava's story in the first book and their fight for not only their love, but also the freedom of their people kept me engaged through all four books.
CODE has so many twists and surprises that there is never a dull moment. At times I wanted to scream out about the injustice and corruption but the loyalty and love the freedom fighter have for one another overshadowed the evil. Secrets that should have been revealed long ago are brought to light, characters you thought you knew were actually quite different, and love prevails but not without sacrifice.
Ms. Ting weaves an intense story with vibrant imagery and well-developed characters and a well-paced plot. Although dystopian is not my usual go-to genre, I anxiously anticipated each book in this series and secretly hope for a spinoff series. This book and series is definitely worth a reread in the near future.

You win some, you lose some, and this is a Win! I would give it a 10 if I could! I can’t put into words how amazing this book was. If you have been following Rhett and Ava’s story you know they have had their fair share of struggles, and this book has plenty of them. Their resilience shines through, but is it enough to keep them together? Well, I guess you will have to read it to find out! “Whatever it takes” go read it now! (Why are you still reading this review, go read the book!)

Ava is a prisoner at a secret ISAN facility along with other rebels. While she works for escape, she must also keep in mind that her actions effect the lives of the other prisoners, including some she did not think still survived. Rhett and the team is in a desperate search to get Ava back before something terrible can happen to her. Meanwhile, a Remnant Council member partners up with a separate organization who is also trying to find Helix's creator. With Mr. Novak creating a CODE army, time is limited, and Ava and the rest of the rebels will be destroyed forever if they do not stop Novak.

Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion, and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Additionally, the author sent me this book as a free advanced reading copy; however, this did not influence my review. This is 100% my honest opinion. Let's begin:

With the possible exception of the first book (and I say possible because I really can't decide considering they are both amazing), Code is the best book in this series so far. It is a mastery of plot twists and anticipation. Coming from someone who enjoys sci-fi but whose heart belongs to fantasy, this series and book in particular make me want to read more sci-fi. To give you perspective on how much I liked this book I will share how desperate I was to keep reading. I was getting my nails done (a 2 hour venture for me) and kept switching out my hands at every possible moment to turn the page on my Kindle because I was unwilling to let those 2 hours go to waste when I could be reading this instead. The desire to know what happened next was so strong that I didn't care that I'd have to clean my Kindle off from the dust that gets everywhere when I get my nails done.

The plot has a ton of action that is written very well, but I enjoyed how it did not rely solely on that action to carry it. There were a lot of "slower" moments where there was no action, but I loved these moments because of the mental and verbal wars that occurred. Much of ISAN is a battle of the mind, and I think Ting does a wonderful job at showing all of the characters having these internal battles with themselves and mental battles with people like Novak who try to convince you that ISAN is good. There were a ton of plot twists (like the end- mind blown after reading that) that really kept me entranced by the book and wanting to read more.

I really like all of the characters and watching them change in this book. I think one of my favorites, though, has to be Justine (I know, I know- just wait until you read it before you judge me). I definitely enjoyed her character a lot this time around, especially her relationships with Ava, Brooke, Gene, and Novak. There was not a single character that I was not interested in or did not care about what happened to them. The dynamics between them were interesting and the results of their relationships left me feeling so many mixed emotions that I didn't know what to do with myself at the end.

Overall, Ting is a master at combining action and plot twists with mind games and romance. I received this whole series in exchange for honest reviews, so I was able to read each book right after finishing the previous one. After the ending in this book, I am so upset I cannot get my hands on the fifth book right away. I need answers so badly and can easily promise that I will be one of the first people reading the fifth book- whether it be a reviewer copy, ARC, or I pay for it myself.

Thank you so much to Mary Ting and Angie from the Instagram page @marytingnews for the copy of this book!

Code, the thrilling fourth book in Mary Ting’s International Sensory Assassin Network series, ramps up the intensity as Ava finds herself trapped behind enemy lines. This installment delivers a gripping blend of suspense and heart-pounding action as Ava faces dire stakes and impossible choices.

As a prisoner in ISAN’s secret compound, Ava is thrust into a dire situation where her escape plan becomes a race against time. The tension is palpable as she balances the lives of fellow rebels, including some she thought were lost forever. Ting’s portrayal of Ava’s struggle to free her allies adds layers of emotional depth, highlighting her resilience and leadership.

Meanwhile, Rhett and his team’s relentless search for Ava intensifies the narrative’s urgency. Their determination, paired with the unexpected alliances and emerging heroes, adds a rich dynamic to the story. The subplot involving the Remnant Council and the quest for the creator of the Helix serum adds intriguing layers of conspiracy and danger.

Mr. Novak’s creation of the CODE army introduces a chilling new threat, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown. Ting’s ability to weave together personal stakes with larger political machinations ensures that Code is not just a battle for survival but a fight for the future of the rebel cause.

For fans of action-packed thrillers with strong character development and high-stakes drama, Code is a must-read. Ting’s expertly crafted world and relentless pacing make this installment an exhilarating ride that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Ava’s story.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is 100% my opinion.

So...
This was amazing.
I'd binge read the whole series during this past few months so I would be ready to read this one. CODE is probably the best book of this series. So it was extremely hard for me to rate it. I'm still struggling to identify if it deserves 4 or 5 stars ⭐

I loved ISAN, liked HELIX and sort of liked GENES. But CODE beats the hell out of all of them. This book it's filled with action, betrayals, love and craziness. You know, every single element that a good story needs. We learn a lot more about our characters. And after some crazy plot twists and revelations, I finally put it down.
I don't want to give any details that could ruin the story for you. But I loved this.
Of course, there were some things that I didn't like, that seemed rushed or made no sense whatsoever. But that tends to happen a lot. It was definitely a good book. I got a few cringe moments and that explains why it was hard for me to rate this.
Anyway, try this one, you'd not regret it!

OMG! Never look away as you turn the pages!

There was no ending to the surprises. Jaw dropping, mouth hanging open surprises. There was a new enemy that would make this series a fantastic movie. New rebel forces, destroyed city with hope of renewal and kids showing just how powerful they really are.
ISAN secrets come to light and you are not going to believe it. Allies you didn’t know you had. Mysteries unraveled with wide spread shock. Two enemies in one an a mirror image of that one. Mother’s and Father’s are not who you remember them as. Siblings left and right, only to discover their true inner self. Then there is a baby I pod. A creation made by love, but hidden by a psychopath and revealed by a mother.
Chapter 30, I cried my eyes out and the very next chapter, I was cheering them on. I held my breath so many times and was on the edge of my seat just as much. Shocked wouldn’t cover a lot of the book, I couldn’t believe it.

All this put together made this book beyond fantastic.

Can it get any more intense as it is...?!?! CODE , the fourth installment in the ISAN series, is just that... INTENSE! With all the plot twists and drama, this was just another emotional and gripping rollercoaster ride into this world. So many answers to so many questions; then more burning questions arise.

I think I got more anxious and excited in anticipation of what is to come as I turned the pages. With the steady amount of action and drama, CODE kept me on edge through the entire book. With all the action and adventure, the characters' emotional and unique personalities just added to the riveting and passionate telling of their stories and journeys.

Just... WOW! Mary Ting just keeps bringing "it" with each installment in this series. I am very excited to read the next installment. Can't wait to see where else Mary takes these characters and the story. What will happen next...?!?

Besides Ava, Rhett, Mitch, and Justine's POVs, this book has three more people's POVs - Zen, Josephine Chang and Momo. I didn't expect to read from Momo, but I liked that kid, so I didn't mind it.

Seriously tho, I thought this was the last book. But I was wrong! How I wish I have yet to start reading this series. By the end of the story, it promises more action to come in book five, the final book, and I cannot wait to read how Mary will wrap up this fantastic story.

I wonder if Gene is dead, or will he be in the next book?

The world created by Mary Ting has much to offer, and I can see her writing a sequel to this series which includes Momo and her team as well as the 'baby'. Well, I can only dream of it 😜. For now, I'll have to patiently wait for August to come and read the book before judging if there's a possibility for a sequel or no 😀.

Our heroine has been captured and now must plan a prison break. She is on a deadline, even if she doesn't know it.

This is book four of the series. It does pretty well as a standalone with the essential bits covered early on. Still, it would be more enjoyable if read in order.

This is a science fiction story with a dystopian setting. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting that is full of interesting tidbits. The characters are also well done and plenty of depth to the overall story. The plot moves at a good pace and includes plenty of action and intrigue, making for a very engaging story. Overall, I quite enjoyed this entry in the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Highly recommended.

Anticipation sets in and you want to read the book but are excited and slightly afraid of where Mary Ting is going to lead you. You keep seeing the book sitting there and you put it off. You finally pick it up, settle in, and cannot stop reading.

I love that from the onset we see more characters points of view, characters whose heads we had not been in yet. We jump straight back into the action and it is GO GO GO. There are so MANY revelations in this books. Most of the questions slowly start to get answered and some bombs drop and you feel better but you KNOW something is going to go down and people will be lost (or will they).

The way Mary Ting spins a story is incredible. I highly recommend her books and the ISAN series. Now we wait to see where she will lead us next.

Happy Release Day

CODE by Mary Ting @authormaryting

WOW! WOW! WOW!

The cover is beautiful. The writing and story line is on point.

What can I say? This was an amazing read. I am glad that I was given the opportunity to read this series.

This is the 4th book in the International Sensory Assassin Network series.

Twist and turn continued. I was up during the late hours turning the pages, because it is so good. How can one be surprised each time you thought you knew what was going to happen next. I love when that happens in a book.

Of course, Ava continues to be my favorite character. It was her character and how she dealt with situations that came her way.

@authormaryting you kept me captivated the entire time.

You can find the series on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. This is one book/series you don't want to miss out on.

@jeanbooknerdstorytellersbox on IG has an exclusive book box for CODE that is available while supplies last.

This was the last book in the ISAN series and I was lucky enough to read the ARC. The author didn't disappoint. As always, there was a lot of action and a lot of plot twists that I don't think any of us saw coming. She constantly leaves my mouth agape when I'm reading her books. I would say that it's action, sci-fi, and maybe a bit futuristic. Definitely would interest male readers (in my opinion) and tackles so many different topics and themes. A really good series to listen to which was amazing!

WOW!!!!

Ok, there are so many answers and this book was amazing but still I want more. I can only hope there will be a follow up series.
This series kept me on the edge of my seat with so many twists and turns. There is so much happiness and sorrow all at the same time that my emotions are now all over the place.
So happy about Avary, but I need more Mitch. I'm so sad it's over.
I've said it before and will say it again.... please Netflix or Hulu make this a movie or TV series. It would be amazing!

OH. MY. GOSH!!! Where do I even start here... Ava is back in ISAN, Rhett is frantic and won't stop until he gets her back, deep secrets are revealed, fights... no battles, death, hope, unbelievable happiness coupled with heartbreak... how does this story just keep getting more insane and amazing with every page!?
But that ending... the revelations! I need more, I have so many questions and their is still so much to do and learn! Outstanding read.

This story was amazing. One of my favorite in the series. The story had you hating certain characters at one point and other times you were happy and and loving. The story had so much action it had me at the edge of my seat. I just couldn’t put the book down. This book reveals so much which takes you on an unexpected adventure. When I came to the end I have to admit I was in tears. I highly recommend this book.
