Being a mother of 6 sons at a young age does not make life easy. And your husband notices that his life is so different from what he imagined. His wife is always tired, has no energy to take care of herself and there is no attraction between the two. George decides to leave his wife and children and Patricia continues to educate her boys on her own. Her dream was always to start a real estate business and get her papers for that.

Lucas, Jason, Logan, Tyler, Tristan and Joey all grow up to be adult men. All with their own identity and varying
interests
Lucas wants to make the company big with his mother, Jason wants to do something with music, Logan is still searching but also tends to music, Tyler has been photographing since a young age and is making a career in it, Tristan wants in the family business, Joey wants to be an interior designer. All boys are on their way to their future, but their mother will not accompany them further. After a day of hard work she comes home, chest pain and knows that her life is ending. How will Darlington's children fare?

A short story but with a lot of information. Personally I am most interested in the stories of Jason and Joey. Will Jason still be able to build a career in music or will he let that go? And Joey. He is portrayed as a sensitive young man. He will find his mother when he gets home. What will this do for him in his later life?

Very curious about the life that will be described by Avery North about these 6 men.

Avery North has out done herself with this story: Beginning: Darlington Brothers Prequel. I just cannot help myself in being anything else but excited about the coming books in the series and cannot wait for it to start. The Darlington brothers are all good looking men with determination to make their own way in the world. Their father left them early in their lives, but, they have grown up ;with the influence of a strong woman, Patricia Darlington. There are six Darlington brothers :
Lucas - a realtor at Darlington Realty
Jason - had dreams of being a rock star but they were dashed and he is leaning toward being a realtor.
Logan - missed his appointment for the music conservatory, leaning toward realtor
Tyler - a twin, a photographer who travels the world taking pictures, many for National Geographic
Tristan - a twin, not exactly sure what he wants to do but he is leaning toward being a realtor
Joey - the youngest and most spoiled, wants to be an interior designer with his own television show eventually

This was a short, quick novella. I've never read anything by Avery North so I'm trying not to judge too much by this. Novella are hard for me because they are so short it's hard to get a connection with characters. This was no different.

This didn't feel like a "smooth" read. It was very choppy. And I'm not sure I was a fan of how this one ended with the mother. Other than her husband leaving her, which we already know from the blurb, we learn nothing else about her except she got her real estate license and then seemingly seemed to be absent like her husband was with her boys because she was working all the time.

I'll give the first book a shot. Hopefully it flows a little better than this one did.

**Presented with an ARC from the author via StoryOrigin/BookSprout in exchange for an honest review.**

A nice introduction to the series.

This short story takes you through the lives of the Darlington boys—there are 6 of them—and their mother, Patricia. I found myself getting passionate right from the start—angry-passionate, not aroused. It isn’t often that a short story can do that to me, but this one did. If you are reading, or plan to read, The Darlington series, I highly recommend reading this book.

Learning How to Juggle

Every parent ponders how their actions or inactions impact their child. In the Prequel to Avery North’s series The Darlington Brothers, North introduces the parents, Patricia and George Darlington after the birth of their youngest son, Joey. At home are the five older brothers, Lucas, Jason, Logan, twins Tristan and Tyler—all under the age of 10.

George, the owner of the local newspaper gladly provides for his family and would gladly pay for additional help for Patricia at home, but is not willing or able to assist in the care and nurturing his growing family of boys. And, as each year his wife produces him with a new son, she won’t allow him to hire help, and he doesn’t see any need to alter his approach to parenting—as the dad, he sees his role as provider and disciplinarian. He won’t be the one to teach them to play baseball or to roll in the grass with them—he cared for them, but he wouldn’t be the one to interact with them.

But, while he loves his beautiful wife—each child’s birth is a public statement of his affection—he can’t see is that his “affection” is suffocating his wife. With the annual birth of his sons, his wife, is overwhelmed trying to be both attentive and loving wife and doting mother. She cared for everyone except herself.

Her dreams of a career—like her sister—in real estate. And, as she cared for everyone—husband and children—she did not care for herself, and was unwilling to accept help. So, after six children and no time or energy for self-care, the beautiful woman who had first won the attention and heart of George Darlington disappeared. Her young body that enticed him disappeared with the annual birth of his sons. And her ability and energy to be the young bride slipped away. And, in time so did George, leaving her for his PA and eventually selling his other passion, the newspaper.

Avery North sets up the foundation of story of the Darlington sons, growing into manhood with the loving attention of their mom, but with little from their dad except for their last name and gifts for each son’s birthday and Christmas gift. North explores each son’s entry into manhood and sexual maturity, and the admiration that collectively they demonstrate for their mom who had to learn to juggle motherhood alone as she also began to chase her own professional dreams.

I received an ARC through Booksprout and will enjoy reading the subsequent tales of the Darlington Brothers with Kindle Unlimited.

Great Prequel to the six sinfully sexy Darlington brothers

Beginning: Darlington Brothers Prequel definitely sets-up the six Darlington brothers story. It also takes the reader from the time the youngest is born to today, eighteen years later. The boys mother Patricia loves each of them so much. She has raised them well and they are all on their way to becoming good men, even if they all have a penchant for mischievous fun. Well that and a lot of sex, once each of them discovers it they can't get enough of it. It is a good thing they are all tall, have curly dark hear, piercing green eyes and are handsome and sexy.
The boys are separated by ten years but they are all close. There is Lucas, Jason, Logan, twins Tyler and Tristan and the youngest Joey. Patricia had wanted to be a real estate agent, like her sister is, but when she married George, who owns and runs the local newspaper, they started to have the boys. As she does not need to work she decided to stay at home to look after the boys, as she did not want anyone else doing it. However, after Joey is born George starts to feel like this is a life he did not sign up for and does not know if he wants. Can anyone say "mid-life crisis". And as with a lot of men the grass looks a lot greener, and slimmer, tighter, with no stretch marks and willing to ensure he is happy without asking for more, on the other side. So he sells the paper, leaves Patricia and boys with a lot of money and leaves town with another woman, his younger PA. Patricia is determined to claim her life back and between raising the boys she studies hard and gets her real estate license. She then starts to sell starting her own office. Along the way each of the boys helps her as they grow up and start to figure out what they want to do. Some of them know and have a clear path, others sort of stumble into a decision and then there is the crush of a dream which means a change in course.
This Prequel is well written and gives a nice glimpse into each of the six brothers. I am looking forward to this new series by Avery North as I think it is going to be interesting, fun, have drama, family and of course some sexiness.

👑👑👑ONE THRILLING RIDE👑👑👑
Fabulous! Avery cranks up the thrill with this incredible treat, weaving in principles, self-respect, determination and a massive dose of one strong, intelligent heroin, planting seeds and watching them grow, sowing this baby together seamlessly. Traversing the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, alongside the sharp twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways than they could have never anticipated. Each individual is incredibly relatable and personable with separate goals, dreams and destinies, every one different and unique, growing up and growing closer, propelling this jewel to life flawlessly. Lines blurred and crossed boundaries, limitations are amplified and exploited, riding the current and breaking waves, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and vivid descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline explode. Fantastic job Avery, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

Looking forward to this series
I have enjoyed every book I have read of this author’s, and this one is no different. This is the prequel of what is bound to be another great series. In this book, we meet Patricia, whose husband George left her with their six sons – Lucas, Jason, Logan Tyler, Tristan and Joey.
They all have their own personalities and interests, but share many traits with their hard-working and devoted Mum. Her great work ethic, resilience, independence, love and passion are evident in different ways amongst all of them. She’s managed to give them all the best possible start in life. When tragedy strikes, what will happen to all of the Darlington boys?
This was both heart-warming and heart-breaking. I cannot WAIT to see what happens throughout this series. I give this book four and a half stars!

Patricia Darington was gifted with 6 boys and a husband that was more interesting in running the newspaper than helping raise his children, but after the last child Joey she decided with her sister's help that she would study to become a realtor. She was pretty good at Real Estate she soon had the boys helping to stage the houses with her and she also found out some other things she wasn't ready for either. But she had to raise the boys on her own and she did a great job. This is a look at the inside of the Darlington house and what the boys did while growing up and their dreams. And their mother's wish for her boys future. Like the storyline and the characters were interesting. Enlighting. Book 1 is a cliff hanger. I own this book. I am providing an honest review.

This is a fantastic start to a great series!! It’s a wonderful, well written story, that really draws you in!! The author, Avery North, did a great job, providing the backstory for each of the 6 brothers, that will make up this series. I highly recommend this book!! I can’t wait for the next book!!

This begins the story of George and Patricia Darlington. George, the father, leaves his family, while the boys are still fairly young. They have a great role model, in their strong mother, Patricia. This book introduces each brother, that makes up the Darlington family: Lucas, Jason, Logan, twins Tyler and Tristan, and the youngest, Joey. This is their backstory.....

I really enjoyed reading Beginning: Darlington Brothers Prequel by Avery North because it gives a glimpse of the family life of the Darlington's and what each brother does for a living and how they came to be in their situation. There are 6 brothers and each of them have special talents that make them who they are. This prequel sets the stage for very intriguing stories about the brothers and the romance and drama that is in their lives. I would recommend reading this prequel to get a taste of what is to come with this family.

Ms. North has really set the stage for her new series with this amazing prequel. I am really excited about the upcoming books about the 6 Darlington brothers: Lucas, Jason, Logan, Tyler and Tristan who are twins, and the youngest Joey. Their father left them when they were young, but growing up they still had the influence of a strong and determined woman, their mother Patricia. She has raised them well and this prequel gives us a glimpse into their lives and how it all began. I can tell this is going to be a really great series.Looking forward to it!

This prequel gives an outlook of the Darlington brothers’ family, a first introduction to each of the six sons who later will get a whole book dedicated to their individual story in this series. It’s a teaser, but not much more.
Anyway, it’s difficult to grasp from the few pages what the series will be like, as I haven’t read any of Avery North’s other books and are not familiar with her writing style.
I’d have loved to get a bit more information about everyone involved so far ...

Although this is just a prequel, you can see what the book is going to be all about. I did enjoy
this prequel. I have never read one before. I thought I would be unsatisfied without the full book,
but no.
I didn`t find any spelling mistakes or any holes in the plot of this book prequel.
The characters really work great together
and I have a wonderful connection with them all as well.
I do recommend this for readers over the age of 18+

As the title states it is the Beginning. This introduces us to the Darlinton brothers, Avery North's new series. We learn about each of the six brothers who all have different interests but are all very interested in women. Getting to know the brothers a little growing up gives us an inside look at how they think and their motivations. Their love for the mother and their father's desertion make them into the men they are.
I look forward to reading each brother's story. But what us with the eye color of the man in the book? I thought they had blue-green eyes.

In this start to the series, we get the background on Patricia and her six boys. We learn that she and her husband George had six kids under the age of 10. (I can't even imagine!!) Then George decided to run off with another woman, and Patricia manages to do it all alone. Major kudos for her. The decisions made by both parents have a lasting effect of each of the boys, and we'll see in upcoming series the lasting effect of the decisions they made. Can't wait to see what happens in book 1!

I loved this prequel on the Darlington family. Patricia raised 6 boys alone as well as starting her own real estate company. I liked how she took the time to take her sons with her each time she went to show a house. Each son took part in what she did and followed in her footsteps, however sone chose a different direction until reality showed that this family could become the dynamic family in real estate. I didnt like the ending (not in a bad way), but I was looking forward to seeing it differently. Now I will read the next book to find out more.

not impressed with this book ... I know its a prequel to each of the siblings and the premises is great ... however it felt to me like I was getting cliff notes on how the characters were going to be but with no real connection with any of them.... I would have loved more on their mother and how she got the business up and running and then let each of the sons develop naturally with their own books... do I get the first one in the series to see if its better than this or not... that is the question and I am not sure yet.

George owned the newspaper and decided he didn’t want his wife anymore so he left her for his assistant. Patricia got her real estate license and made a great business, her two oldest boys were with her. One was working taking pictures and the youngest wanted interior decorating and the other two maybe going in the business too. I cried when I read the last pages of this book but still loved the book!

Very quick prequel detailing the background of the brothers. All six are so different, but still so similar, and some following in their mother's footsteps. Each had a lot of love and encouragement growing up and are becoming strong in a lot of ways. Can't wait for the series to be released and this prequel teases in all the good ways. Very well done.

This is a short story by Avery North, about a family the Darlingtons. Patricia and George had six boys, with George owning the local newspaper and Patricia staying home raising their boys. Until one day George sold the paper, left his family for his assistant and Patricia to raise her six boys herself. The story line was good. The prequel does give a brief look into each of the Darlington Brothers, but does not give much else. Maybe the series will be more captivating. Prequels tend to just jump right into the characters life at a certain point but you only, if at all, get the story of how they came to be at that point of their lives. It did give me some interest in the rest of the series with hope of more detail of the brother's lives as well as their mothers life.

This is a great beginning to a new series. It opens with a narrative about how Patricia ends up being a single mother to six little boys. There's a chapter introducing each of her sons, and just enough background for us to understand where their actions and attitudes come from when we get their individual books. The ending of this prequel is a complete and shocking surprise!

Hold on to your hormones because there are 6 gorgeous men that I can't wait to learn more about. I can't wait to find out which brother will be featured first.
