Sophie Marie Leroux is a genius physicist who has developed the technology that can be used as a limitless power source. It is also rumored that she is in possession of plans that can cause widespread destruction. Certain factions want to see that research buried, and the only way to make it happen is to get rid of Sophie.
Derek Lockwood has avoided commitment all his life. His past involvements in high-risk missions are not exactly building blocks for meaningful relationships. Now an executive for a defense company, he finds himself attracted to his new business partner.
When mounting threats endanger the woman he would forsake for all others, Derek steps in as her protector.
However, behind Sophie's brilliant mind lurks a dark past, and Derek will need all his intellectual and sensual expertise to break through her emotional minefield.
Victoria Paige writes smart, edgy, seductive romance.
Her heroes are badass alpha males and her smart, strong-willed heroines can hold their own against a bossy hero. Her books are sexually explicit and may contain dark themes, morally ambiguous choices, and disturbing situations as she injects realism into her stories and gives them her own twist.
Victoria lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and playful German Shepherd Dog, Loki.
Fire and Ice was an amazing debut, IMO, therefore I did not lower my expectations going into Silver Fire. Yes, I already know Derek is a slutty man-whore, but 'seeing' it -unacceptable!! I finished the book in record time, during which, anxiously hoping Derek would redeem himself or at least prove he is no longer a sex addict! I'd enjoy the story (especially for seeing Maia and Jack), Derek, however, after that 'scene' is forever tainted and even the epilogue couldn't establish my faith in him.
While I liked the nuts and bolts of the story, Derek and Sophie simply did not work for me, at all. I kept feeling like I missed something in their interactions because I do not understand why they fell in love outside of an initial attraction. I really enjoyed book #1 and #1.5 so I will continue with the series and hope book #3 has a more believable romance. Seriously, I think the fact that Derek claimed to be interested in Sophie, invited her to his house for protection and then slept with another woman under the same roof killed it for me. Meh.
When Victoria emailed me if I would be interested in reviewing her book I didn't even hesitate, I said yes with a big smile on my face. I'm glad I did because she didn't disappoint!
Yes! Finally! After a few months of dry spell for some badass, alpha, swoon worthy male lead I finally read one that made me super happy.
"We got that straight, Angel, I want to bury myself inside you with no fucking condom between us. And that's after I eat you until you scream."
Oh my god. Her sex spasmed at his words, a warmth pooling between her legs. This man can talk you into an orgasm.
Sophie is a very smart woman however she is closed up in her own little world. She is a scientist holed up in her lab.
Sophie got herself in a bind when her life was threatened because of her father's research, which she continued and made possible. The Zefinium bomb can wipe a town and not leave trace of radiation in its wake. Well, of course people or organizations would want their hands on it. Enter Derek.
He is bull headed and doesn't take no for an answer,
"Angel, I'll give you all the space you want," Derek leaned down and brushed her lips. "As long as I'm in it with you."
But he is patient where it counts,
"I have never been in love before, but I'm willing to be patient. Don't pull away. Stick with me. And maybe you can love me even half as much as I love you. I'll be happy with that."
He has a dirty, dirty mouth,
"I'm a dirty talker, baby. Get used to it."
And heart that can love,
"I love you, Sophie Marie Leroux."
I would've given this a 5 stars however I just can't. There are some things that isn't for me. A little of some of the things kinda reminds me of KA... Maybe it's just me. And the ending left me wanting a bit more. Maybe I'm looking for more actions scenes. But don't get me wrong, this is a really great read. I enjoyed every page! This will definitely go in my read-again list.
Great work, Victoria! Thank you for allowing me to read your work in advance.
Would you recommend this book? Definitely, 100% YES!
Too much magic peen. She had a traumatic experience that prevented her from getting involved for 13 years, but his magic peen cured her. Ugh. She went from frigid to nympho in 60 seconds. It just didn't work for me. The trauma and its effects were mentioned with a few details to make the point of how serious it was - and then it was gone and she was game for all kinds of sex.
Likewise she makes one comment about his bed - the one she saw him with OW a few days earlier - and then nothing. No protest about sleeping on the same sheets??? Ick.
All of this made it challenging to become absorbed into the action. The action where the h would be in danger, allowing the H to make up for being a jerk by coming to save her.
Too bad. I really appreciated the first book's originality in the role reversal in the characters of the H and h. This book felt more commonplace - just another action romance with the damsel in distress and the hunky hero.
I'd already bought her other books, so it will be interesting to see how they are.
I did enjoy seeing the H and h of the first book in their HEA.
if your looking for a book that has action kick ass females dominate sexy males a terrific storyline and a HEA with a bit off darkness thrown in then this is the book for you i couldn't put it down was even reading it while eating dinner. its one off those books that keeps you on your toes add it to you TBR today.
Victoria Paige is my new favorite alpha writer. I can't get enough of these sexy, dirty talking,
possessive and protective over the top ( and I LOVE IT) men of hers!!
Derek has taken the lead in my heart and I just want to wrap him up and keep him away from everybody. Even when he screwed up I wanted to kiss him.
This guy takes the cake in the caveman award. Throw me over your shoulder anytime babe!
But really
the romance between these two was pretty emotional at times. Derek had never felt for a woman what he did for Sophie. She knocked down his walls and pulled up every protective instinct deeply embedded in his heart and soul.
From day one he was gone.
Once he gave into that he didn't give up. I loved seeing him pursue Sophie with such tenacity.
Victoria writes her alphas with no filter. They take what they want and do not apologize. Derek wanted his way and he got it but when his "angel" knocked him on his knees he knew when to surrender.
But when he laid down the law..everybody knew it.
“I’m taking you to work, picking you up. You sleep in my bed. End of.”
Loved it!
Sizzling love scenes, enough to start a fire and let me tell you this story will take you for a ride.
Enjoyed every second of it, even when I wanted to throw my ereader.
The HEA is tender, passionate and left me happy as can be.
4.5 stars Great Romantic Suspense Series Continues I'm a big fan of the Guardians series. The males are possessive, jealous, sexy alphas and the females are strong, sassy, and intelligent. Each story is a stand alone, although former characters are in the new books. This book was very enjoyable and the couple was a great addition to the series. The short, concise glossary at the beginning to describe the organizations was a good addition. In Silver Fire, Derek, former Army Special Forces and executive at a defense company, has his eye on sweet, nerdy intellectual Sophie, the nuclear physicist. While negotiating a contract for his company to use her research, Sophie becomes aware of how lonely her life over the years has become after a past traumatic relationship and finds herself attracted to Derek, an unrepentant playboy. He has been watching Sophie and recognizes she is somehow different, but he's still not sure about entering anything more than an exclusive dalliance at first. Sophie knows his long history of "sex only" and plenty of it from a rotating list of women, but when her life is in danger and Derek and the Guardians, a covert ops team, step in to protect her, it is hard not to respond to his charms. I enjoyed watching the journey of Derek's attraction to Sophie accelerate and change while she is under his protection. Derek makes some jerky mistakes in the beginning of his first try at an actual relationship, but as time went on, the reader could see he was headed for a big fall. I liked how Sophie would verbally blast him with the truth about his "manho" past when he could not step up to the plate with his feelings. As the book progressed, Derek became a real Hero, both personal and professional, as Sophie is targeted by enemies who want her research and a stalker who wants Sophie for himself. Sophie had some baggage to overcome from a former, dark relationship before she could totally commit to Derek and he is very patient and healing in this regard. There are some great sex scenes that display the jealous, possessive alpha in Derek's nature, but the couple have some sweet moments as well. The suspense plot of the story was good and you have to be on your toes to follow the action. I especially enjoyed catching up with the first couple, Maia and Jack, from Fire and Ice. Their interactions, like Derek and Sophie's, are smoking hot and fun to read. Victoria Paige did a great job continuing the series with Derek and Sophie's story of finding the love and commitment neither ever expected. These books are becoming one of my favorite alpha romantic suspense series. Great Job! Keep the stories coming.
**ARC exchanged for an honest review, but I would have bought it anyway.
Sophie is the self proclaimed "nerdy scientist" who has buried herself in her work to avoid having to deal with anything else in her life. The biggest thing she has been avoiding is men. After a life changing experience as a teenager, it has been 13 years since she has been with a man. Her friends are ruthless in their pursuit to get Sophie to give men another chance and when her work starts to endanger her life, a man she can't resist enters it.
Derek is the VP of a defense company with a long list of women to his credit. He doesn't have girlfriends, he doesn't do relationships, he just has sex, with lots and lots of women. It isn't until he sets eyes on Sophie that he starts to rethink his plan when it comes to women and when he starts putting himself in the line of fire to protect her, he is forced to come to terms with his feelings.
With all these two have thrown at them, can they come out the other side unharmed?
I LOVED this book! I was hooked right from the first chapter and it was just the right mix of romance and suspense. All the characters were very well developed and the sex scenes....wow! Hot, hot, hot! Derek is a true Alpha male so if you like these types of men in your romance novels, (which I sure do) you will love him and Sophie gives as good as she gets.
You will read in other reviews that there is something that happens about 3/4th of the way into the book...I knew this going I so I was expecting the worst and honestly? It wasn't that bad. It was an important climax for the story, and made me like Sophie even more than I already did.
My thoughts:
Character development: 4.5 Level of Romance between characters: 4.5 Passion/Heat level: 5(these two are so hot together, all the love scenes are very well written) Angst/Heartbreak: 4 (this is a romantic suspense so there is a lot going on for these two) Cliffhanger?: Nope, this is book two of a series but Derek and Sophie's story is wrapped up. I have not read the first book (but I will now) and I didn't feel lost so this can be read as a stand alone.
Overall, loved it! Definitely recommend so grab a glass of wine and get ready for a great story!
I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review
Close to a 4*. I liked the first book better. Derek was OTT, almost cartoon-ish (including the smexing with the OW while Sophie watched, ewww)... I wonder if this could be a graphic novel? (I read a little of the Outlander graphic novel & it wasn't bad). I will read the next book by the author-which I'm sure will be about Viktor & Marissa- they had minor roles in this one. The tiny teaser at the end was a big hint :)
Really torn about it. No cheating per se but the man whoring and the fact that she saw it was really disturbing. Couldn't get away from it while reading the rest.
The action was great, it was well written and I love the fact that we got to see what's up with Vik for the next book and revisit the people from book 1.
I just don't understand why authors keep having all their men be hookers alllllll the time before they meet their better half.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It was packed with action and romance. Derek was an Alpha badass who loved him some Angel. Angel was a smart kickass scientist who took no prisoners. She was just what Derek needed to bring him to heel. The supporting cast of characters were just great. I cannot wait for Viktor's story.
This author just keeps getting better. I love her novels. This was no exception. When I start one of her novels I know that nothing is going to be done until I am finished. They are just that good.
**This was an ARC copy given by the author for a honest review**
4-4.5 stars
This was a really good story. I've read the rest of the series so far and this was a great addition. Derek has been in the previous books as he's the partner of Jack (the hero from book 1, Fire and Ice) and I was happy to see him get his woman.
Sophie is a nuclear physicist. She's super smart and is working on a method for sustainable energy for a deal with MDI, a defense company, She's been pressured by some to use her research (carried on from her father's work) to make a bomb but has refused. She focuses on her work because she has no personal life to speak of due to some trauma and abuse she suffered as a teenager. She's completely unprepared for the feelings Derek brings forward when he flirts with her during a meeting.
Derek is ex-special ops and is now a VP at MDI. Most of his life he's been in positions where a serious relationship would be stupid because he could easily die and leave his wife and kids with no one. He kept out of relationships and just had women he screwed and made sure they knew it was never anything more. Even when his life became safer he kept the same habits but recently he's started to see the emptiness in his life. When he meets Sophie, he knows he wants her but he doesn't realize just how important she'll become in his life.
When Derek and Sophie first start their flirtation, Sophie is having some issues due to attempts on her life. She gets protection from Maia (Jack's wife) and her company, Artemis Guardian Services (AGS). Derek pursues Sophie and she's not sure if she wants his attention as she knows of his reputation and isn't wanting to become a casualty of that situation. To be honest, although I liked Derek, he didn't suck me in right away but as he made more of an effort to keep Sophie safe and to be with her, Derek grew on me more and more. Sophie is hesitant but does give Derek a chance but things aren't exactly smooth.
In between the spikes in the action plot, the relationship grows between Derek and Sophie. There are a couple of times where things go off the rails, once because Derek suffered from a big bout of relationship dumbassedness (fortunately he recovered quickly) and the second time because a bad guy and an evil ex of Derek's teamed up to cause issues between Sophie and Derek. The last issue ended up getting her kidnapped and in a tough spot but she managed to get out of it...but not before getting forced to make something dangerous for some bad men. Once she's back home, Derek is very protective and helps her feel safe again. They get past the tough spots, relationship wise and really start to grow something together. There ends up being a bit of added drama at the end that's needed to resolve the issue with the bad guys having something dangerous, but everything works out great and we get a very satisfying and sweet HEA.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Sophie and Derek once they got together, they're so sweet together. Also, I enjoyed getting to see a lot of Maia and Jack (from book 1) in the story. It was good to see their story continue. I'm looking forward to the next story in this series. I"d recommend this book. Thumbs up! :D
I've been reading aloud from all of Victoria Paige's books to my husband, and they are double the fun this second time around! We read a chapter each evening, and it makes the exciting, suspenseful parts that much more torturous, stretching it out over days! I had a brief hospital stay toward the end of this one, and my second evening home, hubby looked at me and asked if I was ready to read aloud yet (I was), and looked so cute asking, because I think he wanted me reading just as much as he wants me well again. LOL!
I didn't remember the full story, because it's been a while since the first time I read it (I only remembered that I liked it a lot), so the story unfolded for me as though it was all new again. I did remember a few scattered details, like Derek's dirty mouth and his manwhore past. I remembered so little about Sophie, so it was a real treat getting to know her all over again. We would totally be friends. I love her.
The suspense part of this romantic suspense is a thrill ride! Nothing at all was predictable and the surprises were frequent.
The romance part of this romantic suspense was steaming hot! Poor Sophie's virginity had been taken in the worst way by a psychopath, and so was truly still a virgin when you consider healthy sexual relationships. I was so happy for her, as a good friend should be, that she paired off with the prurient Derek.
I have to chuckle at one of the company names in this book: Divergent. With a teen and tween in the house who also love books, that word has an entirely different meaning for us now. ;) Plus, my step-dad's kind of rare last name was used in this book. That was a fun surprise!
Before you read this book, be sure to read Fire and Ice (Guardians #1) first. Each book could perhaps stand alone, but they are SO much better together. I am diving straight into Smoke and Shadows (Guardians #3) this evening with the hubby. I've been looking forward to Smoke and Shadows specifically, because the hero of the story is my beloved Viktor, my favorite Victoria Paige character.
Received ARC for Review As always Paige does not disappoint. This series has grabbed me from the get go and loving it and hating waiting for the next one. I am not sure how many books this series will have but I am loving all of them and looking forward to Viktor's story.
I love how Jack and Maia are still main characters even without it being their story. Intertwining the stories throughout the series allows for more development of the characters and making the series great.
Wondering how Connelly's character is going to play out. Not sure if I want him to get his own story or not. Jury is still on on whether or not I like him, even though he is suppose to be one of the good guys.
Now to focus on Silver Fire: We all know Lockwood is a manwhore and has no problem with who knows it. Seems strange to pair him up with a nuclear physicist who is basically a virgin and scared of sex because of being kidnapped and falling in love with her captor, even after his death Adam still has a hold on her. I know opposites attract and needed to be almost a virgin to gain the love of Derek. I understand that Justin is suppose to be a sociopath and all but felt that Sophie had too many stalkers. I mean even though Derek is a good bad boy he still has stalker tendencies and Sophie tends to feel for all her stalkers. I know she ends up taking out Justin but she still seems to find something good about him. I know Stockholm syndrome exist but I think maybe hers is a little too far.
Still the story has a great balance of love, action and miscommunication to make the book hard to put down.
Again WOW! First let me say that these two books are stand-alone. You do not have to read either one to understand the other one it does help though. This author knows how to write a book and action-packed romance thriller that does not let anyone down! When I read the first one which was also an ARC copy I didn't know what to expect but with this being my second book my second ARC book I was hoping that it wouldn't be the same old same old and it wasn't again it kept me riveted!!! The plot is so believable and the H&H are great together you can just see all of the interaction amongst all of the divisions and departments. The author also touched on some very touchy subjects she did not gloss over them she hit them straight on address them and I felt gave them the ultimate ending they needed. I don't believe this author is going to be able to write quick enough for me! And I can see where there will be more books to this series which I adore there is another series that is similar to this with special ops and other covert teams around the world fighting the bad guys so to speak and you just couldn't get better than that when it comes to reading a book they just don't make books like this forget movies of course Sean Connery will always be my ultimate hero! A special shout out and love to the author Victoria that wrote this book and allowed me to read it and review it thank you so much!!!!!!
Sophie is a nuclear physicist who runs Silver Fire Research Laboratory. Derek is the VP of a defense company but does odd jobs for AGS. He has avoided commitment all his life he has what Maia calls his own little harem of girls that he rotates to keep anyone from wanting anything more then just sex. Will Sophie be the one to make him want to change his ways?
Who would have thought this brilliant physicist could get into so much trouble since she basically lived and breathed in her lab. Her friend Beth the reporter and Stephen are great new characters in this Guardians Series. The characters from book one have their own roles in book two and it is nice to see how the are progressing because Maia and Jack are couple of interesting characters.
WOW was this book Hot! The action never stops I kept looking at the progress of the book to see if this was it for these two. I laughed a little and I was on the edge of my seat through most of the book. Very well written. This book can be read as stand alone but I think you would love book one enough to start there and Derek plays a big role in book one. All the characters are well developed even the bad guys.
This is not my usual kind of book and I can not explain how happy I am that Ms Paige gave me this book to read and this is my honest review. I can not wait for the next book in this series!
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review, so here it is. This is a perfect story. It can be read alone or with the Guardians series. Here we meet Sophie and Derek, Sophie is a brainy and beautiful and Derek is the VP of MDI, a defense company. Sophie and Derek's companies are working together to better the defense department. She has something stronger than the atomic bomb and is trying to hide it. She built it to see if her fathers research was correct. But hiding it from the worlds worse is going to be hard. Good thing she has Derek, ex-Army Ranger, his partner Jake ex-Navy Seal and Maia, AGS agent on her side. They will go through enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Has the man-whore Derek finally found true love and will he leave his womanizing ways behind for Sophie? Can Sophie get past his string of women? This is a great story and you will find suspense, murder, lust, bombs and people out to kill Sophie. I love Victoria Paige, her writing style is perfect and I hope she will have a story with Viktor and Marissa. If you are looking for a great series, the read the Guardians by Victoria Paige and enjoy it, I sure have.
i received ARC for my honest review, i was littelay blown away with this story. it was action packed in many ways. you have the stud of a man Derek Lockwood he is ex-special forces and has a reputation of being a playboy. never had a relationship, never wanting commitment. when he first meets the nerdy scientist Sophia his attention is caught. the company that he works for is in negotiations for a contract. unfortunately she has been through a lot in her short life. at 16 she was kidnapped and held hostage, her capture Adam did unspeakable things to her. now 13 yrs later she still suffers from his hands even though he is dead. with the encouragement of her best friend who tells her that he is checking her out. Sophia is tempted to give the playboy a chance and maybe he can suit his purpose , she doesn't want a relationship with her busy projects. needless to say they do connect when his best friend wife is almost killed because they want the Sophia dead. all i can say you will have action in every page. The Author Victoria Paige did a great job.
I've never read the first book and after reading this one I'm very tempted to go buy the first book and read it to know more about the other characters. And it's true that you don't need to read the first book to be able to follow the story in the second. I really enjoyed reading this adventure of Sophie Marie Leroux.
Here we follow the genius Sophie Marie Leroux who's created a dangerous bomb for scientific reasons but her life is in danger when someone tries to kill her. And that's where our story takes off. There's just enough action to keep the blood pumping and the scenes between Sophie and Derek are hot hot hot!!!! And there's just so much tension between them that they just ignite whenever there's a scene on them.
It was fantastically written where the chapters just flowed one after another to the point that I found it hard to put it down once I started!
This was a great well written and thought out book full of action, sex,and suspense. Sophie has taken over her deceased father's lab and was following up his work on bombs without the nuclear fallout. There are really bad people that wanted to get a hold of these to use for their use sadistic reasons. Sophie was used to death threats but then she was attacked and she needed some help. Derek Lockwood was just the man for the job. He work for MDI (McCord Defense Industries) also a partner of Silver Fire Research where Sophie worked. Derek (playboy)felt a over whelming alpha-male desire to protect Sophie after first seeing her. Derek thought he could keep his distance from Sophie she had a troubled past and he didn't want the bother of it all. The more time Derek spent protecting her the harder he fell. He was the only one in 13 years Sophie let get close to her. In the middle of all the action of fighting off stalkers and men stealing her work for evil use there was a blooming love story. Great read!
3.5 Cliche Stars I enjoyed all the action and romance in this story. Also how the MC's from the first book Fire and Ice where incorporated in this story. Derek Longwood was the classic alpha male/caveman millionaire w/Special Forces training. Sophie Leroux, is a the nerd that is new to relationship due to a tragic pastShe appeared to be strong and resilient with a shyness around men. But when outside forces want the research she has been working on she becomes the damsel in distress.(Eye Rolling) She requests security for protection but won't follow their lead and continually puts her and her friends in harms way. She suppose to be a Nuclear Physicist but can't figure out why ppl are out to get her/find her. Overall I love how Derek and Sophie come together and how they work past her fears and his fear of commitment. I hope the next book in this series is of Victor and Marissa. Would've nice to find out about Victor's kinks.
I have read all the books in this series and love her writing style! Paige does another awesome job of writing a women who is tough but yet feminine. Sophie is very different from Paige's other leading lady but I found that to be a must. Maia is one of a kind just as Sophie is but in their own way. I love an author who writes about women with brains, beauty both inside and out and for whom a man compliments them but does not become their world. As for the men, Derek has always been a character I loved and I was very happy Paige showed us that there was more to him than his smart-ass attitude and revolving door of women.
Paige definitely delivered once again with another terrific read! This one can be read as a stand alone book but I highly recommend you read the first Guardian book just for the pleasure of it! Can't wait for book 3 in the series.
Mmmmmm........ I liked Derek in Fire and Ice and I was looking forward to his book unfortunately I just did not feel Sophie. I really did not like her.
After reading Fire and Ice I went into this book with very high expectations. And that was my downfall with this book.
Maybe the author was trying too hard to turn Sophie into Maia, I don't know but she just annoyed me in this book.
I also felt that Derek was trying too hard in this book with Sophie, to build something with her and she was too offish for me. I did not feel any connection between the 2 main characters and I did not understand why Derek was so hooked with Sophie.
If there truly was a real connection between Derek and Sophie, Derek would not have had sex with Layla the same night he tried so hard to get Sophie to come to his house. Also Sophie not having sex in 13 years and then BAM she is ready to go was a bit unrealistic for me.
The second installment of Guardian series, Silver Fire, was bring us the story of Derek Lockwood with his love interest, Sophie Marie Leroux a genius nuclear physicist who runs Silver Fire Research, which is business partner of MDI and AGS..
As a known man-whore, Derek approach to Sophie was way more than any minefield he ever encounter. Sohpie's past in abduction and Stockholm syndrome with his abductor didn't help with his cause to win her heart. Just like the first book, with Jake and Maia, when these guy fall, they FALL HARD.
Sophie wasn't an alpha heroine like Maia. She couldn't kick ass, not even fire a weapon, so when she was entangled in infinite power source scheme, getting herself shoot, kidnap, bomb, fire, Derek step in determined to protect her.
Ms. Paige again win me with this good romantic suspense. Hurry up to the next book, Victor story...
What an awesome book! This is a great addition to the series. It has adventure, suspense, lots of bad guys, an outstanding romance, and it is hot! This story was definitely a page turner. The suspense is intense with lots of twists and turns and I did not know what would happen from page to page. Sophie was such a fragile person and became stronger and stronger with the help of Derek. A great romance with a little trouble here and there to make the romance interesting. The other characters in the story are well written and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. This is a great story from start to finish and easy to follow. I highly recommend! I received this book from the author for an honest review.
I was one of the lucky readers to receive an ARC for this book. This book had a story line that just kept giving. It never seem to drag or slow down. Between the action packed story line and the hot and sexy scenes it was an amazing story. Sophie and Derek's relatinship was one to love. Sophie the scientist, who throws herself at work to avoid thinking about her past. She has the ability to create this nuclear bomb and continue her father's work. She becomes the target. She catches the eye of Derek the ex army ranger and womanizer . If you read Fire and Ice there are characters from that book in this story. Without giving too much away, this is a book that you can't do without reading. Victoria Paige you're an amazing writer. Can't wait to read your next book!!!!!
Silver Fire is the second story of the Guardian Series. It was as exciting, action packed, and a tad grittier than Fire and Ice. Derek the H was first introduced to us a friend and business partner of Jack the H from the first book. He’s also a good friend of Maia who is the h from Fire and Ice. Derek is a well-known womanizer who is paired perfectly with Sophie who is not as experienced, but has gone through a terrible incident in her life.
As usual Victoria has written an h with a backbone. Sophie did not back down from Derek whenever he brought out his Alphaness. This couple went through a lot more than Jack and Maia. The scene described about ¾ into the story did not bother me at all.
I can’t wait for Viktor and Marissa’s story. Please write fast, Victoria.
**I received an ARC copy for my review** I haven’t read the first book but I will start at it later because this book had me on the end of my seat.
This was a great book I love the mix of nerdy professor and HOT sexy alpha male, with this combination you get always funny parts. You will get to know playboy Derek and the strong brainy beautiful Sophie during the story, because what is it that Sophie’s trying to hide.
It was easy to read but with some parts you needed to pay attention because it got very intense. I even held my breath a couple of times especially when she was dismantling the bomb.
Wonderful work from Victoria Paige and now I will have to start with the story of Maia and Jack.
