Carolyn Wheat is an attorney, an editor, and an award-winning author. Her short stories won the Anthony, the Agatha, the Shamus, and the Macavity awards, and two of her six Cass Jameson legal mysteries have been nominated for Edgar awards.
A very good anthology. All of the stories deal with "legal drama and suspense" and all the protagonists are female. The editor and, I believe, all but two of the authors are also female.
My favorite stories are "A Well-Respected Man" by Margaret Coel, "The Triumph of Eve" by Sarah Caudwell, and "The Only Good Judge" by Carolyn Wheat.
I found it fun to read these short stories over the past several weeks, as none took very long to read and each was a small treasure of excellent legal fiction.
Nice collection of short stories. A change from reading a few chapters of a novel before bed. It introduced me to authors that I will check out their novels.
