Scribd makes it easier to try the less known works. (Audiobooks) It's good and it's also bad. This is the bad case.
I know insults are some people's love language but... they weren't dating yet? In fact, the photographer was a jerk so the future-account was rude back and somehow, that made them "like" each other and I use that term loosely because I did not understand why or how or what is happening and I definitely did not consider it... "liking". Tolerating each other better? Throwing a neutral or nice word 1 times out of 10? Enemies-to-lovers is hot, this is "How to ignore Red flags even before the relationship starts" or "who wants to wait for a relationship to show their true colors when being A-hole is doing it for him".
Have some darn self-respect man. He should have more since he's not actually model and depends on the money so... why? I just wanted to smack them both, for different reasons. DNF.
--- A short and fast read.
It's not that it's a bad read. It just the blurb promised a "enemies to lovers" that didn't quite land for me (the rivalry lasted a few minutes at best).
Our MC -Jake- was very unlikeable, so connecting with him was hard. Leo, on the other hand, was more interesting, it made me wish for a dual POV.
A quick mention, this book is more explicit than I normally enjoy so there goes another thing that reduced my enjoyment.
I don't mind sex scenes in general but in this case, all their "love" was just sex, I miss the yearning and character development.
Why all the low scores??? This short, steamy book was way better than some much higher profile books I’ve read! I listened on Scribd and the narration was well done.
A male model and a photographer meet, have lots of sex and fall in love along the way. The profanity was off the charts but they all sounded like 20ish men as opposed to mid-30’s women! It was a little choppy in places and I had a hard time remembering all the characters but overall this was a fun book!
Some of this was a little hard to read, it seemed like the two main characters didn't like each other but were still so drawn to each other to where that was all they could think about. I think the model gave up his modeling to eagerly when the photographer said he doesn't date models. Some of this story just seemed to contrived.
A photographer and a model hook up and fall in love. But they’re both emotionally stunted and bad at communicating. And he’s not really a model. He’s really an accountant, and an athlete. And there are soooo many side characters. It’s unclear why. The narration was pleasant and it was a free listen on Everand.
I didn't expect much and it's true that this book was pretty much a 150-page-long smut but it wasn't bad at all! It was cute and hot and absolutely predictable but exactly what I needed.
A super quick novella about a snarky model who wants to leave the fashion industry and his photograph who desperately wants to make him stay. I had a fine time, it's short and sweet.
