Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

I can't believe this book is 300 pages; I read it in 3-4 hours. It seemed much shorter.

Even though I'm on book number 9 in the main series order, this book called my name first. (I discovered it through someone I follow's review on my GR feed). I'm a big sucker for the Kindred books set on the female-dominated world of Yonnie Six. I enjoyed this one, but I do think some of the previous books I read set on Yonnie 6 were better, such as Saber and Lissa's story. This one was a little different because one of them was actually from Yonnie Six.

Of course, they first have sex because they're basically forced to 😂 I love all the things on Yonnie Six that compromise (force) the main characters to do sexual things together.

Also, I enjoyed the whole breeder/Lilliana getting pregnant when Karn didn't think he could impregnant anyone. I had a feeling she was pregnant before it was revealed in the book.

My only complaint is that I wish this book was a little longer & slightly more developed than I think I could have given it 5 stars. Anyway, I feel as though Evangeline Anderson had a good time writing it.

Protecting His Mistress, a Kindred Tales Novel
First of all, since this novel is one of Evangeline Anderson’s, I knew it would be an excellent read. I really enjoy her books, knowing each one will have a definite plot with a hot Kindred and the lady he’s drawn to. I knew somewhere in the book the action would be perilous, even life-threatening. And I knew the main characters would have a steamy scene or three. So I dove right in to the story of Karn, a hybrid Kindred, and Lilli, an innocent from Yonnie Six. Yonnie Six has become notorious through several of Ms. Anderson’s Kindred novels as a planet of wealthy Mistresses who seek out only wealth and power. Lilli’s mother is one of the worst.
Her mother sent Lilli straight from the birthing bed to a convent, seldom visiting her until she became of age. She then demands Lilli know exactly how to act and dress in high society and belittles Lilli when she fails. Her mother goes so far as to purchase her daughter a bodyslave. Naturally, this man is Karn.
While trying to accomplish his mission, Karn is drawn to Lilli because of her innocence, her sense of justice, her basic goodness. Lilli has a very hard time becoming part of her mother’s social circle since the girls her age have mastered lessons she never had the chance to learn and bully her because of it.
Knowing the backgrounds of the two main characters and the basis of the struggle to come, I started this novel. Although I’ve read all of Ms. Anderson’s novels, this one just captured me. I actually read it through the night because I had to know how the plot would end.
Protecting His Mistress is one of those that stays with you long after you’ve finished it. I definitely put this one in my “to be read again” pile!

Lili is a innocent female trying to comply with her status as training her first body slave. Lili is a sweet female and Karn is so patient and protective of her. I love the adventure these 2 characters embark on the emotions and love scene are so hot and steamy just want i expect in a kindred book Evangeline Anderson continues to evolve her kindred world and I am always happy to read the next book in the series.

Ms. Anderson continues to build her Kindred world in this latest instalment of her sci-fi romance series and if you love her previous books, you will like this one. I did like the main characters - Lilli and Karn - and the story did include some really nasty villains. There was some action but overall this book was just ok for me. It felt a little repetitive especially regarding certain “activities” and it lacked the depth of some of Ms. Anderson’s previous stories. However, if you are a fan of her work, I am sure you will enjoy this story.

Saved by the slave
There are so many Kindred Tales novels, but this has to be one of my favorites. I don’t know if it is because you don’t really expect to see an innocent come out of Yonnie Six or if it is because this couple is just so perfect for each other. The author could have made it so much worse for Lilli, thankfully her night in shining restraints showed up at her greatest time of need. As always, the action, danger, steaminess and emotions are packed to bursting between the pages of this book. I love that the author was able to make us laugh when I was ready to do some damage to the women in this society. I am so glad that these two characters got their HEA and I am really looking forward to reading all about the next Kindred that connects with his lady love.

With every new Kindred book on Yonnie Six I despise that place and the majority of women there. I truly hope we start getting more stories that don’t involve either of them. The “friends” Lilli had to endure were disgusting and despicable. The treatment she received from the adult women there were abhorrent. Karn was a perfect choice. From his size to his determination to stay and care for her in ways unlike she had ever received was heartwarming. The sexy times were smoking hot, and yet loving and patient at the same time. Their ending was totally unexpected, and awesome. I absolutely love every bit of it.

This was a great book. I just love this series and enjoy the creativity the author shows.

Karn and Lilli were amazing characters. Karn was everything you wanted in a Kindred and Lilli was so innocent and sweet. I just love the chemistry between these two. s a

Love the hybrid kindreds! They are so awesome. Karn and Lilliana were such a sweet couple. I was so mad at her mom and Priss. Lol. Those 2 were a mess. This book was hot! I couldn’t put it down I read it straight through. It had me from beginning to the end.

I enjoyed reading this book, it has a good storyline. This book is entertaining, filled with action, adventure, and intrigue. The chemistry and interaction between the characters of Lilli and Karn is great. I can't wait for more from this author. Another winner in this entertaining series. Never boring, sometimes so corny I roll my eyes but still laugh. You know there will always be a happy ending after heart stopping moments.
The characters are all great, even those you love to hate..which is pretty much the background characters. Great story line with more to come (see what I did there) next time.

Protecting His Mistress: A Kindred Tales Novel (Brides of the Kindred)-Evangeline Anderson

Back to the phenomenal world of Kindred Warrior’s and their mates. Part of this world is the sometimes featured Yonnie 6. A world where horrible materialistic, social climbing, female superiority beliefs and cruelty to males is the normal. Sometimes makes me want to scream but there is always a great story that usually ends with good karma.
This story has an innocent main female character who has been raised in a convent. She is now “of age” and has been returned to her self absorbed typical Yonnite mother.
Lilli’s mother also happens to be on the voting committee and has access to much information.
The first thing Lilli is forced to do with her mom is to purchase a male body slave. Luckily she picks Karn, a huge Kindred.
Karn is on a secret assignment for the mothership. He must find the names of all the male Kindreds kidnapped and sold as slaves to the Yonnites. He poses as a slave to be bought by Lilli’s mom but luckily he is for her daughter. Sparks fly between Karn and Lilli and Karn finds himself lost between his innocent sweet mistress and his mission.
The two make a great pair, their rollercoaster story is filled with twists and turns, precarious (hot) situations, wonderful world building, creative plot line, addictive read that had me reading through the night.

For essentially porn, this book has quite a bit of religiosity ;)

I used to read so many science fiction romances that had no dub-con or non-con and "all of a sudden" Evangeline Anderson has been really leaning into that "dark romance" theme. I'm reading through the Kindred Tales series, and so many of them are dub-con. This one had many of those scenes. It was almost too much for me since a lot of the situations were manipulated by a bully that she barely knew - who of course edited her proof where she had convinced everyone else to do the same thing that only the FMC got in trouble for. It was really gross.

The main character, Lily, had been raised in convent when her mother didn't have time to raise her child. 20 years later she is brought back to make her mother look good with the rest of the Yonni 6 elite. She's been sheltered but also gives in to a lot of really gross things her mother and Pris(Cilla) forced her to do. Neither of those two get their come-uppance either.

Then the Goddess comes in and saves a very milquetoast character, and there is a lot of discussion of how the Goddess helps her children, watches over them, etc. It's funny how this series has become more and more raunchy while being more and more religious.

This was super cheesy erotica, but totally my jam with the whole slave thing. Karn went undercover to retrieve a list of names and addresses of The Kindred men who'd been stolen and sold into slavery. He went to a planet of women who kept men as bodyslaves and wanted them hung, for display purposes only. They didn't have sex with their slaves, penetration was against the law. They went to clinics to get pregnant because they only wanted female babies. There slaves were status symbols who waited on them hand and foot. Lilli grew up in a convent and wasn't used to the customs and mindsets of the planet's inhabitants. Her mom retrieved her from the convent when she was 18 and bought Karn for her. Lilli's mom is the one with all the slave info at her house. He found it and sent the info off. Meanwhile, he and Lilli fell in love. When the Corps came to get him, she went with him and they lived HEA.

Ummm, I’m flabbergasted that this is rated so high? Like everything about this was bad. The writing? Bad. Couldn’t decided whether to be modern or Victorian. The names? Was the author trying to be silly and funny or just dumb? Cause it didn’t work either way. The characterization? Bad, especially of the FMC and her mom. The FMC talks and acts like a teenage girl, and why on earth would a mother who wanted her daughter to take her place leading this headonistic society send her to be raised in a convent? It makes absolutely no sense. The world building? Bad. Although I guess there are many books before this so idk. I really should have just DNFd it. And it’s unfortunate because the vague “a soldier has to go undercover as a body slave to rescue his people” is a good concept to work with but this was just so so terrible.

Karn is a Hybrid Kindred working undercover as a slave to find a list of all the kidnapped Kindred. Lilli is the virginal daughter of a perfectly awful mother, who is now the new owner of Karn. As is typical of the Kindred books, the story sets up a lot of erotic situations that Lilli and Karn are forced to be in. There is a real attraction between Karn and Liili, that causes the mission part of the story to be almost too easy.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I love the erotic relationships, but I would like the plot to be developed a bit more.

This one brings us back to Yonnie Six. A world where males are kept as slaves and females are very much different in their beliefs. Lilli may be a daughter of one of the wealthiest females on Yonnie Six, but she is nothing like them. When forced to live the life and pick a slave she just might find the perfect one in a Kindred. Karn is a Kindred and he is a hybrid, half beast Kindred and blood Kindred. He is also a spy planted on Yonnie Six. Things are about to get very hot and dangerous. No matter what happens you can always trust a Kindred to protect a female. And they are just so big and gorgeous.

Karn is a Hybrid Kindred who has been sent as a spy to Yonnie Six to find info on a Nightwalker Kindred accused of savagely murdering his mistress. He is set up as a body slave and bought by a ruthless mistress for her daughter who was raised in a convent. Lilli is naive and kind and not at all like all the other Yonnie mistresses. Can a relationship happen on a planet that is ruled by women and males are nothing but slaves? Karn and Lilli will find out the hard way. Absolutely loved it.

Protecting His Mistress, a Kindred Tales Novel by Evangeline Anderson is once again a masterpiece. I loved this story, the characters involves and the glimpse of our next set of heroes.
Lilli is from Yonnie Six, but unlike the other females from Yonnie Six she has been brought up away from their usual customs and has only just emerged from a convent.
Karn is a hybrid Kindred on a mission for the council and part of that mission is to become a body slave to sneak into Yonnie society.
This is where the adventure begins. True romantic novel.

What a great addition to the "group". Karn and Lilli are too sweet. What kind of person did her mother really expect when she was raised by nuns with that level of poverty and without all the cattiness of society. I hope that Miss Priss gets what's hopefully coming her way, she needs to be taken down a peg or two. What happens to the rest of the info that is on the surveillance computer? Does Priss get rid of the rest of the vid that she took or use it against some of the others? Always questions to leave you wondering "hmmm what about......."

This was fucking weird. Women own male “body slaves”, treat them terribly, have “seed shooting contests” where they wank them off for fun and “friction parties” where they “don't” have penetrative sex, because that's against the law. The two main characters are actually sweet, and just kind of going along with all the weird stuff against their will. There was also some truly awful dirty talk - lots of talk about “cream”. The whole thing was kind of terrible, yet I couldn't stop listening to it 😂

I swear I cannot stand these mistresses. They only care about themselves and what people can do for them. But the way her mother treats her is a new low for these women. Karn is a good male to help her navigate the waters, but even he can’t save her from that wicked witch. She has to save herself, and him. I cannot wait to see what happens with the next one!

I really enjoyed this latest Kindred novel. It was a pleasant surprise to finally have an innocent and kind mistress on Yonnie Six. I found Karn and Lilli were really sweet together and fit each other very well. There was some pretty hot scenes between them too. Just finished Protecting His Mistress. Loved Lilli and felt sorry for her too. (Loved how awful her mother was too.) What a bizarre world they live--where being fashionable is everything and being pregnant and having a male body slave is fashionable.

Karn is a terrific hero--torn between his duty and his growing feelings for Lilli.

Fun scenes (her "friends" are hysterical) and the great twist at the end.
