The continent is in chaos as one world-shaking event after another continues to rattle the foundations that the people have lived with for centuries. The flames of all-out war threaten everyone and few people seem to want to stop it. Louella and Regan work tirelessly to protect their own slice of home from forces that want to bring ruin to everything around them.
As secrets and truths come to light, will Regan's intellect and Louella's compassion be enough to lead their people through the troubled time?
Truly, reading these is scratching that itch that desires totally overpowered battles on epic grand scales, as told from the PoV of a god.
Of course, this is still LitRPG but it has dropped most of those roots except for the brief times when the massively overpowered dungeon core makes new "children" who will wreak more havoc on undead, celestials, demons or when he expands his territory and takes more and more of the populations under his fatherly wing.
You know, like a god. And he tests himself against ever stronger beings.
I admit I like the huge scope and the quick pace. It is, more and more obviously, like playing a video game. And yes, I'm waiting for a chorus to sing out, "no duh!!".
After 5 reviews do I need to further extoll the virtues of this series? No, you're here because you read the others. Should you read this one as well? Why yes, yes you should.
It's full of the same robotic dungeon core adventures, with a dash of necromantic battle and some divinity mixed in.. All hail the Machine Father!
Highly recommended. The books with a dungeon core/lit RPG tend to focus on the mechanics and perhaps a few characters. This series doesn't get bogged down with stats and focuses on solid story telling with heroes coming to save the day. Definitely OP characters but that's part of the appeal.
The story continues. It is a fun steady read that doesn’t demand too much of the reader. There are some minor edits needed: some word confusion and half finished edits. The world got a bit more depth and more complicated. It is not a self contained story but a volume of an overall arc. Enjoyable and I recommend it
Regan Acquires A Love Interest -- Better Late Than Never, I Suppose.
Acquiring a love interest after one has died and been "reincarnated" as a cube of silvery stone seems a bit pointless, but Regan will likely make it work; no matter what he must do to make it work. That's just his way.
This novel, sixth of the series, and the series to which it belongs will likely appeal to fans of the Fantasy, Dungeon Core, and LitRPG genres; as well as those who enjoy playing RPGs.
The plot thickens, and evolves, with many new directions, interesting new developments, lots of action and everything you can hope for. Great book, will be waiting eagerly for the next one.
So this one hits all the right notes. The action comes in fast, the story keeps moving, and you learn more about the world at large. Add in the great characters and it's a five star book, no question about it.
I continue to enjoy this series, the idea of combining high-tech and magic has certainly been done before but this weave is a ton of fun and I look forward to every book. A little more romance this time but nothing annoying or over the top. A great book to read over the 3 day weekend!
The story keeps getting better. Lots of intrigue and backstabbing. The MCs continue to grow in power but aren’t so OP as to make the story boring or the intensity drop off. Well worth the read.
A nice continuation of the story. Entertaining and fun. No real closure this time. It just kind of ends. I’m still looking forward to diving into the next in the series.
It continues with various power-ups for various characters. Still kind of weird when it comes to sexual stuff. So far though I'm still interested in Reading.
Reagan and his cast of companions are great fun to read. Each time a new book comes out, I read it in less than a day. I’m looking forward to the next one!
Good addition to the series, but far too short. Nothing of note really happens and the book ends just as the MC is starting to finally do something interesting.
This book was good overall and had some nice things happen along the way. However, overall it felt like a novella within the world and not a story from the main plot
I read the "dark reboot" of this series immediately before I read this, and while they are both solid books I liked this one much better.
IMO there is enough "dark" in the primary series, and things continue to unravel in this volume. Making Regan an evil overlord (the other book) is just too much for me, and I find this much more balanced. I look forward to the next one.
