WOLVES NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH CATS.

In this ROMEO AND JULIET retelling, were-cougar princess Jade Lamarche escapes a forced, loveless marriage to live life on her own terms.

Now in dangerous neutral territory where female Cats are rare and highly sought after by vicious rogues, Jade finds herself needing the help from a lone Wolf outcast from his own pack.

A Wolf Pack in a blood feud with her own family's Cougar Pride.

* * *

Breaking from the unjust and restrictive laws and constraints of his Pack, werewolf prince Luke Bryant disappears into neutral territory. At last he is free from the suffocating expectations of his people and the forced control of his brothers and High Alpha father.

What Luke didn't count on was befriending a lone female were-cougar who requires his help at every turn in this deadly, untamed Wild West.

Or the fact that against every natural law known to were-kind, he's impossibly developing feelings for her.

Deep, taboo feelings.

ADDISON CARMICHAEL is a Paranormal Romance junkie. Love is a mystical, magical thing to her, and she loves writing and living vicariously through her endless PNR stories. Whether it be alpha male werewolves, fierce dragons, sexy panthers and other shifters, sizzling hot vampires, or illusive sorcerers who will magically make your dreams come true, her imagination is bubbling up several stories after another.

As a literature major, Addison also enjoys weaving classic themes into her books, yet keeping the fun and folklore true to each story and character. While paying strict attention to the tropes of each myth, she also finds unique ways to create new ones in order to make each story as fresh, realistic and plausible as possible.

Addison was born and raised in Southern California and has lived and traveled all over the west coast (and the world). She married the man of her dreams and has two awesome sons, two daughters-of-her-heart, and three grandchildren who are the jewels in her personal crown.

She now lives happily-ever-after with her family (which includes Mollie, her black lab-border collie) in Snohomish, Washington of the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

I have been given an ARC by the author for a frank and honest review. Rebel in the third of the Sons of Alpha series. I found this story to be wonderfully engrossing and as in the first two books Addison Charmichael has continued to hold my interest. This is a romantic story giving an insight on how the troubles of being high born in a Were community effect the life and emotions of the hot tempered Luke Bryant. The story took me to a place where I had not expected to be entertained. It was refreshing.

A new twist on an old taboo
This series just keeps getting better. You are sure to enjoy this book and the excitement it brings with it as you fall more in love with this couple who continually have things thrown against them. They didn’t set out to find love, but find it they did. Now they just have to keep it. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.

I feel like I have not read a book that made me squeal this much in a while, from Jade's spunky character to the romance- and I loved seeing some other side characters again!! *heart-eyes*
I love how Addison's books intertwine with each other and reveal more, while also giving you a glimpse of what happened to past characters.
The Sons of the Alpha series is definitely perfect for lovers of: were-wolves, supernatural, and steamy romance.

Were-Cougar princess, Jade Lamarche escapes to neutral territory in order to avoid a forced, loveless marriage to a man she detests, but discovers that the neutral territory is dangerous country and female cats are rare and highly sought after. Were-Wolf prince Luke Bryant breaks from the unjust and restrictive laws and constraints of his pack and disappears into neutral territory but Luke didn’t count on befriending a lone female Cougar who requires his help at every turn or the fact that against every natural law known to were-kind, he’s impossibly developing feelings for her.

This newest book in the ‘Sons of the Alpha’ series in an exciting and engaging story with strong, bold characters who brave leaving everything they know for the unknown with a strength of conviction that is admirable. The romance between Jade and Luke has lots of sizzling chemistry but they keep trying to keep it at friends only due to the fact that wolves never fall in love cats which keeps emotions running high on top of all the angst caused by trying to forge a new life in a dangerous place.

The fast paced plot keeps readers riveted to the pages with lots of high risk adrenaline excitement and thrilling suspense as Luke and Jade try to determine who they can trust and stunning twists that show that sometimes new over old is the best way to go. Betrayals and a maniacal enemy with a complex manipulative plan that has been going on longer that anyone could possibly believe ensures that there is never a dull moment to be found in this riveting romance.

Cats and Dogs

This is going to get boring for all you readers out there reading my reviews, but I loved this book also! The combination of Cougars and Wolves is forbidden in the Were world. But Luke and Jade are just friends, aren't they? You really have to read this book to find out. And I guarantee you will love it too!

This series just keeps getting better and better! I started with Beauty and Her Beast and now ending with Rebel and I want more. As with her previous books of the series the storyline is intriguing and engaging and her characters are well developed. Jade is a cougar princess being forced to marry a pompous jerk for the betterment of her pride. She puts her foot down and escapes a loveless marriage before it can happen. She meets Luke in her travels who is a wolf prince fed up with the inaction of his father looking into his best friends death. They both travel to California separately, that’s where shifters go when they leave it there pack/pride. This book contains a lot of twists and turns, manipulations, deceptions, betrayals and ultimately love. I can’t wait for more of this series. I highly recommend this book and this series!!

First, I liked the introduction of the cougar shifters. And second, I liked the exploration of “going rogue,” which mean leaving one’s pride/pack.

The heroine, Jade Lamarche, does this to escape a marriage to a pompous jerk who only wants to marry her to increase his position. As for the hero, Luke Bryant, he ups and leaves when he feels his father, the head wolf, isn’t looking into his best friend’s death.

There are more reasons for leaving, which the author shows well in the novel. Ms. Carmichael builds this in the beginning of the novel, and a reader can feel the tension growing in Jade and Luke as they keep thinking that leaving their respective pack/pride is their only option.

Jade has a wonderful character arc that brings her from sheltered, pampered princess to an independent, confident woman. I really enjoyed reading about Jade coming into her own. While Luke takes a much-needed stand with his pack.

I especially enjoyed the setting. It takes place mainly in Santa Barbara, and although I’ve never been there, the author captures the town beautifully and paints a great picture that becomes part of the plot.

This is an intriguing shifter romance that will attract the reader’s attention & keep it until the last page has been turned. It has a well-written plot with unique characters that display realistic emotional feelings & react accordingly to them.
It is about:: a cougar shifter princess (Jade) dissatisfied with a future forced & loveless arranged marriage to a royal alpha cougar shifter (Conroy) desperately escapes to a neutral territory & comes into contact with a wolf shifter prince (Luke) & the attractions flare, her exiled but happily married sister (Prism).
There is: wolf shifters, cougar shifters, various kinds of shifters, rogue shifters, family issues, caring friends, twists & turns, danger, threats, intrigue, suspense, conflict, prejudices, secrets, memories, confusion, a unpleasant surprise, defiance, decisions, advice, a caring mother’s help, escape, strange attraction, suspicions, verbal banter, manipulations, deceit, betrayal, abduction, devious plans, confrontation, violence, injuries, trust, passion, love & a satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed reading this shifter romance & look forward to future books from this author.

After reading Heir and it being so unputdownable I couldn’t wait to dive into the next book Rebel to continue the story of the Sons of the Alpha with a different son this time around. This time we get to read Luke’s story.

Luke lost his best friend to suicide. He now feels guilty and blames himself. Thinking he was not there for her or that he could have done more and if it were not for him she may still be alive. Luke misses his best friend so much and can’t take his families ways any longer and decides to strike out on his own and leaves his pack and heads to California where lone weres go to go when they leave their packs.

Our heroine of Rebel is Jade a were-cougar who leaves her pack as well and heads to California. Jade leaves her pack because she is being forced to marry a man Conroy that she doesn’t love to appease the laws of the pack. Conroy is not a very nice man. I really didn’t like his attitude and how he treated Jade. I wonder how he would fair going up against another man.

Santa Barbara, California can be a very dangerous place for a female were to be on her own as Jade soon finds out when she a run in with a couple of rogue weres on more than one occasion. There are some pretty big twists in Rebel that will keep the pages turning and the suspense building it had me hooked and my adrenaline pumping.

I can’t believe how Jade was betrayed I never ever saw that one coming would never have guessed it in a million years. My mouth fell to the floor when I read it.I love this world that the author has created for her weres.

Sons of the Alpha is one of the best series that I have ever read and I can’t wait to read more in this world. The more I read in this series the better it gets. I have every book in this series so far. I’ve read Beauty and Her Beast the prequel to Knight, the first book Knight, the second book Heir and the third book Rebel all four books are very engrossing and enthralling reads that I highly recommend to everyone who loves the paranormal and shifters.

I was thinking that the Rebel would not be so fast-paced as the Heir (the Cinderella story). Boy, was I delightfully mistaken. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book!!! The Rebel (Romeo and Juliet) is such an amazing book that grips you and would not let go till the very end. For the people that are not happy that there is not enough sex scenes... Patricia Briggs, one of the industry giants, does NOT put in those steamy sex scenes either, but a LOT of people LOVE her stories - because they are GREAT - so are the stories that Addison Carmichael keeps gifting us with!!! I have become a HUGE fan within a very short time, and am looking very much forward for more!

I enjoyed this book. The story line is entertaining. She does need to beef up her beta readers I found several errors. I’m able to get around them and not let it ruin the experience but it is distracting.

Between the contrived taboo of intimate relationships between different were-animals (they compared it to be as bad as cannibalism or necrophilia) and the repeated glaring annoying typos (Berkley instead of Berkeley, Tai instead of Thai, parish instead of perish), I was too irritated to enjoy most of the book. It's one thing to consider inter-species relations to be highly discouraged but another to put it on par to seriously gross concepts. Additionally, similar to the previous books in the series, the ending was still an over-the-top cheesy all peace and harmony HEA. The MCs Luke and Jade were self-exiled, and they made this whole big deal of being unable to contact their families for fear of judgement from the council and repercussions for the rest of the family still in the Pride and Pack, but it was quickly brushed over to have a mass reconciliation for the conclusion.

For those readers that don't think the above plot holes and typos are a serious issue, the book was an otherwise a fun action-packed drama-filled read, but I was just too bothered by the base premises to rate the book any higher.

Love Luke!!!

After years of living with so much control it would be fair to call it abusive, Luke is at his wit's end. He knows his breaking point is coming, and when he witnesses a wrong go unpunished for the final time he leaves home for the neutral territory.

Jade is torn between her duty to her clan and he resentment that they feel no duty to her. When they finally ask too much of her, she runs.

But the neutral territory is a dangerous place for both and never more so than when Jade grabs they attention of rogues searching for females.

Great characters, though Luke is a little too noble to be real, he makes up for it by being a touch self absorbed.

Cougar princess Jade Lamarche and 33year old wolf prince Luke Bryant stifled by the expectations and rules of their prides and packs. Jade’s sister’s an outcast for not mating her parent’s choice which is Jade’s face unless she chooses outcast. Luke contemplates outcast status while grieving his friend’s suicide over punishment for sex with a different species. This reader cared not at all for either lead or critical pieces that weren’t an issue in the previous outing (coyote hybrid).
