Daily Guideposts, America's bestselling annual devotional, is a 365-day devotional from the Editors of Guideposts that will help readers grow in their faith every day of the year.
Daily Guideposts 2021 centers on the theme "Faithful in Prayer," based on Romans 12:12, and is filled with brand-new devotions from fifty writers. Each day readers will enjoy a Scripture verse, a true first-person story told in an informal, conversational style, which shares the ways God speaks to us in the ordinary events of life, and a brief prayer to help focus the reader to apply the day's message. For those who wish for more, "Digging Deeper" provides additional Bible references that relate to the day's reading.
Enjoy favorite writers like Debbie Macomber, Edward Grinnan, Elizabeth Sherrill, Patricia Lorenz, Julia Attaway, Karen Valentin, Sabra Ciancanelli, Mark Collins, and Rick Hamlin.
In just five minutes a day, Daily Guideposts helps readers find the spiritual richness in their own lives and welcomes them into a remarkable family of over one million people brought together by a desire to grow every day of the year.
Reading Daily Guideposts is a thoughtful way to begin the day. It allows me to take pause and reflect before delving into the day's activities, challenges, and obligations. It also encourages me to practice gratitude each day.
I've been reading the yearly Daily Guidepost books, now, for many years. For anyone who is not familiar with them, each day has a verse of Scripture followed by a page-long devotional reading. The writers come from many different occupations and walks of life. Some of the devotions touch me deeply, and a handful of them don't touch me at all.
There are always a couple of additional verses at the end of the reading, along with a prayer written, I assume, by the person who wrote the devotion for the day. Most of them come from life experiences of the person writing them. There are frequently themes that reoccur throughout the volume. For example, this year, Patricia Lorenz wrote a series titled "becoming Just Me Again," in which she discusses losing her husband to melanoma last year.
As a matter of fact, losing family members seems to have been a common them, this year. Erika Bentsen wrote a series called "Going Home," in which she spoke of days leading up to her father's passing.
Patty Kirk wrote a series on "Struggling to Pray." This year's Easter series was by Marci Alborghetti, called "Joy Comes in the Morning."
A couple of my other favorite writers are Logan and Shawnelle Eliason, a mother and son who both write for the publication.
For the most part, the daily readings are not super deep. On the other hand, there are some days when they hit me as hard as anything by Eugene Peterson. You never know how God is going to use these resources in your life.
Most of the devotional in this were good. Some, did not really seem to reach me in the same manner as others, but overall, decent. I went ahead and bought next years. One of the things I like about this, it is does put on the holidays, specific themed snippets that help the reader have a better connection. Recommend.
These Daily Guideposts books are wonderful. Nice short devotionals help me focus my day. I've come to know and love the writers and look forward to the news of the year at the back of each book. Each day begins with a bible verse, then a short story and a couple of verses to look up. I find looking these up often leads me to something special. I'm grateful to have these books in my life.
Daily Guideposts never fails to help me through each challenging day. The devotions are so relatable to my unique circumstances. This book has been a daily routine in my life for years and I hope to continue this practice for years to come. I also really enjoy the bios of the contributors, which enhances my experiences with these devotions.
My yearly Christmas gift to myself; one year of daily readings, each one filled with inspiration, joy, meaning, wisdom, touching thoughts and insights. 2022 is already in my Kindle 😊 Happy Daily reading!
This is a great devotional for bedtimes or early mornings. The variety of writers have become quite familiar over the years and I look forward to their stories of their lives' journeys. Simply a great way to start or end each day.
I have been reading this as a daily devotional since Guideposts started publishing it. Still love the daily inspiration it provides.
I have noticed in reading the writers bios that more and more are promoting their books or other media and it is losing the people like me feel sometimes.
This devotional book is so inspirational! I look forward to reading each day. The writers have, in a way, become friends, as they share what God is doing in their lives, or how they are learning and growing in their faith. Everyone would benefit from reading this devotional.
Guideposts is a good daily devotional. I like that most in this book gave additional related scriptures for those individuals who want to go a little deeper on that days topic.
