Rule Number One: Never fall in love with a patient.
When a darkly handsome man walks into her office for massage therapy, Iz Amato knows she’s in trouble. Not only does her body want to cross every line of the therapist/patient relationship, but her heart has rebellious plans of its own.
Iz would never breach the ethics rules about dating a patient. But when Sebastian—a doctor still suffering from injuries sustained in a car accident—assists with her sister’s mysterious illness, her attraction catapults into dangerous territory. He awakens her desire to heal someone again and kindles more than passion for her career.
Then life deals Iz a devastating blow, and the tables are turned. Sebastian’s love is the healing balm she needs…but he’s the one thing she can’t have.
A Beautiful Touch is the second book in the Love at Lincolnfield series, heart-warming, hot page turners about the love lives of men and women who work at a Chicago hospital. All books in the series can be read as stand alone novels.
A two-time Golden Heart award finalist, Colette worked for a hospital for twenty years while dreaming up love story plots and now writes (steamy) books about the healing power of love. Whether in modern times or bygone eras, her heart-mending romances feature intelligent heroines and the men who can’t live without them. She loves to drink tea, cuddle with her rescue pup, and sun herself every chance she can get to survive the Midwest winter.
A wonderfully swoony and heartwarming romance. Iz is adorably sweet and a tad timid, while confident and strong-willed as well. Sebastian is ridiculously delicious. That is all.
Dixon promises to be an author to watch for. Put her on your TBR. You won't regret it.
Absolutely heartwarming, beautiful and sweet. I love romances where people struggle with falling in love and the realistic touch to this book made me attached to it. Colette is surprisingly such a GOOD AUTHOR. The writing was splendid!!!!
Strong and compelling plotline along with polished characters makes this a medical must read. Will make readers fall head over heels time and time again. 5/5 stars
I did not expect this story to hit my feels so hard. That climax was so unexpected and I’ve got to say it literally left me shook to the core (sorry for the use of fangirl language here). I came in here looking for the contemporary NA novel but what I got was definitely more. Ms Dixon managed to catch us from our heartstrings in a manner that wouldn’t leave us totally broken but still bare to the world. I loved how healing the story was without dwelling on the sorrow. Yes a loss like that would kill you but still the manner in which Sebastian made sure Iz got over it was sweet. His whole family was sweet. Like I mentioned before the manner in which the sorrow was dealt was healthy which gives the reader the option that not everything should be a blabbering dramaland mess. Beautiful story with beautiful characters. I will definitely keep my eye for the rest of this authors books for sure.

As soon as I read the little tease of A Beautiful Touch at the end of A Beautiful Risk I knew I had to get my hands on the book and I wasn’t disappointed. While this book was all kinds of sweet, smexy and frustrating (in a good way) it also has a good dose of drama and heartache, which I definitely wasn’t expecting, that gave the story a lot of depth and heart.
I loved Sebastian and Iz. Sebastian is sweet, charming and determined and a little sneaky, which I thoroughly approved of and made it easy to fall for him. Iz is sweet and compassionate and definitely knows her own mind. She isn’t afraid to put herself out there and try new things, but she also knows when to draw the line in the sand.
Their journey to their HEA was definitely fraught with a good dose of frustration, but through all of it, it did give them the time to really get to know one another and see just what made them tick. I loved their bantering and how they seemed to just get each other. The smexy, once it happened, was HOT and I loved how they became more to each other than either expected.
This was, overall, a sweet read chock full of characters that were easy to like and root for. The bit of drama in it wasn’t expected, but as I said, did give depth to the story as well as Sebastian and Iz’s characters. I enjoyed the first person POV, and normally don’t have an issue when the entire story is told from one POV, but considering all that went on in the story I do wish that we’d gotten a couple of chapters from Sebastian’s POV. The secondary characters in this one were very well written and I really wished I could have spent more time with all of them ~ especially Sebastian’s family. So, if you are looking for a sweet read with a dash of drama then this one you should check out!
Note: This can definitely be read as a true stand-alone as no characters from A Beautiful Risk make an appearance.

A beautiful read A Beautiful Touch was both a beautiful and touching story! I loved how the romance between Sebastian and Iz slowly developed and found the plot engaging and authentic. Another interesting factor was how it was set in both Chicago and Romania and the descriptions were superb. This is the second book I have read by this talented author and I look forward to reading many more! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this book for my honest review. This is one of the books that came out of left field for me. I loved the characters in this book. I loved their chemistry though out the book. I felt the rise in their relationship and how it didn't start oh I love you right off the bat. It was a slow growth through the whole book. I cried, I laughed, and I shouted through out this book. This book messed with my emotions and I felt for the characters throughout. This book for sure i will read again and again.
I loved Iz and Sebastian together, both of them were written incredibly well making this gem of a romance perfect. Iz the empathic massage therapist and Sebastian her patient who comes for therapy after a serious car accident changes in life as he knows it. The two are immediately drawn and their journey is one of mutual healing and heavy on the romance. I needed a change from the typical romance stories and Ms Dixon delivered. Definitely worth the read!
This was a good read. Iz is a physical therapist and Sebastian is her new client. She is helping him recover from an accident. Of course they are not supposed to have relationship due to him being her patient. However, the heart wants what it wants. Unfortunately, Iz is dealt a tough blow but thankfully he was there to help her get through. Which led them to their HEA.
Based on the cover, I was expecting a light, romantic story, but this book has a surprising amount of depth and drama. I think I've watched too many Dateline stories, because I was half-expecting the mysterious illness to be caused by poisoning!
Based on the description of this book, I really thought it would be something I loved. Sadly I didn't, and I really think it was just because too many things kept pulling me out of the story; at the end of the day I couldn't get emotionally invested.
The premise of the book is good! Iz, a massage therapist, has a patient referred to her who is recovering from a car accident (Sebastian). As it turns out, Iz's sister is suffering from an unknown medical condition, and Sebastian is a medical doctor. Through everything, they work on healing each other while maintaining (or at least trying to) professional boundaries. There's tension, some laughs and sweet gestures, loss, and a trip to Romania! While the book was really slow to start, the ending was as sweet as all the cakes mentioned in the story.
All this to say, other people may absolutely love it! I think just because of my (educational/professional) background, this didn't read for me like most books do (e.x. an escape, something happy, something to take my mind off of the work of the day, etc.). I don't necessarily want to detract others from reading it, but the writing style and story was not for me, and therefore not something I would likely recommend.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s always a beautiful thing to come across a good guy hero who from the get go has his lady love’s best interest at heart. Sebastian seemed to fall for Iz, the heroine, at first sight. He was kind, extremely patient, and genuinely seemed to care for her almost immediately. Learning about her past and present situation only endeared her even more to him. He was everything a girl could ask for, folks.
Iz felt the zing of hot chemistry when Sebastian first walked through her massage therapy clinic front door. He was gorgeous, romantic, and a gentleman to boot. I get the professional dilemma she found herself, but not so much how she handled things. She needed to take the advice everyone else logically kept pointing out to her. Honestly, it would have solved their problem. Her constant hand wringing and pushing him away took up most of the story line. At 70%, they still weren’t what I would consider a real couple. Not contacting him immediately when a very shocking and devastating event happened completely dumbfounded me. I thought it would be the wake up call she needed. I was surprised he didn’t take major offense afterwards and write off their non-existent relationship altogether. Instead the opposite happened. This very compassionate, forgiving, understanding man pulled her closer into his world.
Unfortunately, that’s when the writing took a turn that did not work for me. Mechanical, sappy, and just plain off are words that come to mind, which is a shame because before that the writing flowed. At 75%, Iz finally decided to get smexy with Sebastian. He sure was happy about it, naturally, but I just was no longer in the mood, folks. I felt like an uncomfortable spectator when introductions to his family commenced.
So here’s to hoping others love this entire book. I wish this author continued writing success. The first half held my interest as I leisurely strolled along with them. I just found myself rather exhausted, frustrated, then turned off starting around the 70% point. By then it was mostly the writing itself. I find myself wondering now if the problem was a well thought out endgame was missing.
Title: A Beautiful Touch, Series: Love at Lincolnfield (Book 2), Author: Colette Dixon, Pages: 270, stand-alone but part of a series, slow burn, very slow paced, extremely patient good guy hero, instant attraction/love at first sight, not smexy until 75%, hand wringing heroine, writing lost its appeal, lots of massage therapy terminology. Rating: 3 stars
Book 1 - A Beautiful Risk Book 2 - A Beautiful Touch Book 3 - A Beautiful Match

A Beautiful Touch tells the story of Iz and Sebastian. Sebastian is a doctor who is completing his residency when he is in a pretty significant accident that has left him trying to recover from a severe concussion that has caused stuttering and a leg injury. Iz is a massage therapist that Sebastian goes to for help in his recovery. Neither one of them realized how big the impact their meeting would have on their lives.
This is Colette Dixon’s second novel, it is also the second book in the Love at Lincolnfield series. Each novel could be read as a stand alone, the commonality is the hospital not the characters. The series will continue with A Beautiful Match releasing October 8 and A Beautiful Fire releasing in November.
Iz is a twin and her sister is very ill, they are unsure of what is causing her illness so she is very frustrated with not being able to help her twin. Meeting Sebastian was a surprise not only because of her attraction to him but also because he also takes an interest in her sister’s case. Iz is well aware of his affect on her but she literally fights it FOREVER, it is a little irritating how afraid she is that someone will find out and report her to the board for being involved with a patient. I mean, Sebastian is hot and he is willing to wait but you can bend the rules a little bit. Bless him and his patience.
Sebastian begins seeing Iz for his issues stemming from the accident, alongside treating him Iz is also influential in him returning to medicine. Sebastian is less of a stickler for rules when it comes to being with Iz but bless him, he is SO patient with her. Iz goes through something horrible and he is there for her. He sticks by her even when Iz is a mess, the way he cares about her is really beautiful.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I did get annoyed with how long it was taking for them to get together, I mean I respect Iz’s professional but girl, COME ON. I think I liked the first book a bit more, we got to hear from both perspectives in the first book which is one of my favorite styles of writing. This book was only told from Iz’s perspective, I would have loved to get inside Sebastian’s brain for a bit. It was a good read but I don’t think I would ever reread this one.
A Beautiful Touch is the second book in the Love at Lincolnfield series. I had read the first book in the series, A Beautiful Risk, and really liked so I was really hoping for the same when I was reading this book. I was proven right and I really adored the story of Iz and Sebastian. She is a specialized massage therapist who is also dealing with her sister being sick. He is a doctor that was injured in a car accident a few years ago and must have treatment in order to be able to practice medicine again. Sebastian seeks treatment from Iz and the sparks fly between them. But they are doctor/patient so it is not ethical to become involved. But tell that to your heart, head and libido when Iz is putting her hands all over the handsome and built Sebastian. Their story is filled with a lot of sweet goodness, but with a dash of drama and some bumps and twists along the road to their HEA. This book can be read as a stand-alone in the series.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This was a story of an empathetic massage therapist and her patient, a doctor who was badly injured in a motor vehicle accident. He had all but lost hope in getting back to a state where he was capable of being a competent doctor again. She was feeling emotionally wrung out from dealing with the chronic sickness of her twin sister. Sebastian was just the patient she needed to renew her passion for healing through massage therapy. Her healing therapy gave Sebastian hope that he could be whole again. There was a spark between them that Iz had to ignore since Sebastian was technically her patient. He waits for her to be ready, even though being apart is driving them both insane. This is a wonderful story about finding yourself again, finding love, and finding your way back to the light after being swallowed by darkness in heartache and loss. This was a beautiful story. I did receive this free arc from Hidden Gems and this is my honest review.
Disclaimer: I work for the same publisher as this book, but I requested an ARC of my own accord, and the views in my review are all my own.
Having read the first book in Colette Dixon's Love at Lincolnfield series, I was eager to read book two, and this did not disappoint.
The sexiness, funniness and depth of emotion I've come to know from Colette was present in book two, as Colette not only weaves a thrilling forbidden romance, but balances it with the type of struggles many people have to deal with. I think that's what I love most about Colette's books. Yes, the romance is heart-pounding and sexy as hell, but the character and their true-to-life emotions is where her writing really shines.
This was another book that kept me hooked from beginning to end, and once again reading into the early hours of the morning. Colette is now a firm favourite of mine in the romance genre, and I cannot wait for more of her fantastic stories!
This book was everything that a great story should be. I laughed, I cried and I fell in love right along with the characters in the book. Iz and Sebastian show the reader how important the human touch can be in the process of healing. A car crash, a devastating diagnosis, loss of a loved one and a trip abroad bring these two healers full circle from broken to whole by the hands of the other. My only regret for this book was that it wasn't longer. I seriously felt like I could have kept reading about their love story for forever. Colette Dixon has an amazing way with words and pulling the reader in. And although there were some definite steamy scenes in the book, that was not the focus of the story, the love between the two and what they were willing to endure to be together with the real pull for the reader.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy from the publisher, but can wholeheartedly say I would pay for it ten fold. Such a well told story.
Beautiful yet tragic Iz was a certified massage therapist who specialized in severe injury cases. Sebastian was a physician who had been sidelined by serious injuries sustained in a horseback riding accident. They were almost obsessively attracted to each other from the very beginning, but did nothing about it. As soon as his therapy was over they started dating. Iz revealed to him that her sister was suffering from a genetic disease that they had been unable to get under control. Make sure to have some tissues close by as they’ll probably be needed. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Rule Number One: Never fall in love with a patient. Too bad her body and her heart want to break the rules.
When a darkly handsome man walks into her office for massage therapy, Iz Amato knows she’s in trouble. Not only does her body want to cross every line of the therapist/patient relationship, but her heart has rebellious plans of its own.
An entertaining read if you are in the mood for something lighthearted and easy to follow! An enjoyable read to pass a sunday afteroon. Many thanks to netgalley for an arc in return for my opinion.
, I read the first book in the series a Beautiful Risk so I wanted to check the next one out. I was a little disappointed that there really wasn't a connection between the two books, no overlapping characters. That's where the disappointment ended. This book started off slow, not in a bad way just a slow build-up, then took off like crazy. I stayed up way too late to finish because I needed to see how it ended. It really was beautiful. I enjoyed this book more than the first.
A new to me author and what a surprise i had when i started reading and the main character is a Roumanian doctor which is very rare in romance books.
It's a beautiful love story, slow burn you may say, told only in Iz point of view, full of many angsty moments and building up a beautiful love story, this was a book that i would recommend to all my friends that love a slow burn romance.
Another cute book by Collette. I didnt like it as much as the first one but still worth the read. It did start slow for me but picked up later. I liked the characters but the first book was better.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Heartwarming, sweet and swoony are some of the things you'll think when reading this book. The writing is concise, through and compelling. I'm voluntarily reviewing this after receiving from Hidden Arcs.
A Beautiful Touch is a well written book. The plot flows well and is fast paced. I throughly enjoyed this book. My thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
3.5 Stars. I didn’t understand the whole empathy pain. This feels like an episode of House MD. I’m so annoyed with this heroine. She’s a mess. This book is almost an ad for some of these TV shows , I got tired of hearing about Revelations. Talk about slow burn! I wish the language had been translated. I the reader don’t read or understand the language. It’s a sweet and frustrating read. Loved the hero.
