Short, taut story
“Objects at Rest” by Michelle Spadafore, is a mystery that starts from the first page, is told in a fairly simple style, and contains a modicum of characters and information. Probably the MC duties could be pretty evenly split between the dog, Samson, and the first person, Jean. It begins with a mugging and ends with the report of a murder. I quickly became engrossed in the story and read it in two days in spite of reading other books, computer games, and just plain farting around, which is something old people have a tendency to do. Anyway, getting back to the story, I found it quite enjoyable reading. No sexual content, and violence while detailed well, is nonetheless not grossly exaggerated or graphically explained. Give it a try. I’m going to look for other material written by Spadadore.

good book

I enjoyed this little novella. I’ve found myself thinking about it a time or two since finishing it a few months ago. I wouldn’t hesitate to read something else by the author.
