Myra Cohn Livingston was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Her family moved to California when she was 12 years old. She studied the French horn from age 12 to age 20, becoming so good that the Los Angeles Philharmonic invited her to join them when she was 16 years old. She had other plans. She knew she wanted to write.

A. All of the poems vary in the type of poetry they are. There are haikus, free verse, limerick etc.
B. A lot of the poems contain rhyme which allows the reader to read the poem in their head easily as well as when they read it aloud.

I loved coming back to the classic poems as well as reading ones I'd never read before. Categorizing the poems according to musical instrument cleverly fits the bill for this rewarding read. I will be revisiting this book.
