My Vampire Knight

Rate this book
Falling in love is a killer. Literally, for Siren Calliope Hart.

Any man she love will die—a curse courtesy of her father and the reason for her tragic past. She’s determined not to suffer like that ever again.

Then the heart-stopping-wipe-the-drool-from-your-mouth-sexy Godric Devereaux shows up. He’s a disowned vampire-djinn hybrid on a mission to save his niece and rejoin his family—if only he can prove he isn’t the monster everyone believes him to be.

Calliope sees right through the bad-boy persona and into the heart of the dark creature who only wants to belong. He’s determined to claim Calliope as his own. All she wants to do is protect him from her curse.

But war between supernatural forces brings with it a battle of trust and betrayal, and Calliope and Godric must discover if true love can break the spell—or if the curse will keep them apart forever.

My Vampire Knight is the sixth and heart stopping finale to the Sanctuary, Texas series by Krystal Shannan. I have loved this series from the start and have been waiting for the epic final showdown between the evil Xerxes and the supernaturals that live in Sanctuary. This did not disappoint. My heart’s strength was definitely tested. But at the same time, we got the romance we have come to expect from Krystal. There were some tears, and some sighs, but mostly gasps, as the epic confrontation approaches.

My Vampire Knight - Krystal Shannan:

Calliope Hart is a siren. We have gotten to know her in the previous books a little bit but we now get her story. She has been living in Sanctuary for centuries with a promise to Rose to remain as long as Rose is able to keep her hidden with an enchanted stone. But Rose is gone and the stone is no longer working. So Calliope knows that what she fears most, even more than the evil Xerxes, will find her. She must hurry and find a way to Russia to warn her sisters. Fate has a way of stepping in, though, and changing everything as it did when Godric Devereux came into Sanctuary.

castle covered in ice:

Godric is half vampire, half djinn, a hybrid. He’s been alive for thousands of years. His family threw him out when he was turned to a vampire. So why should he consider helping her when his sister approached him to help her rescue her daughter, Godric’s niece, Manda, who has been held captive for months by Xerxes. Godric cares for his niece, though, and even though he doesn’t realize it, Godric is good. He can’t turn his back on someone in need. If he does this, and rescues her, would his family take him back? Could he forgive them for turning him away?

flying phoenix:

Godric is sent to Sanctuary to get help from the residents there. When he gets into town, he feels something, is drawn to something, someone. He’s never felt this before. And then there she is and he knows, she is his fated mate.

Calliope is cursed. She can never love a man or he will die. When she sees Godric, she feels the same pull, the same undeniable magick. But she can’t let it happen. If she cares for Godric, she will not let this happen. But he needs her help with finding Manda and she needs his help to get to her sisters. So they become partners. The problem is, that the more they are in each other’s company, the stronger the bond is that is tying them together.

“Something about her pulled at a place so deeply hidden inside me it hadn’t seen the light of day in thousands of years – my soul.”

My Vampire Knight - Krystal Shannan:

So much happens in this book. I could barely function without needing to run back and pick it up to see what happens next. There are no slow spots. It’s non-stop. My love for this series has grown with each book. You really need to read them in order. Each book is about a different couple but the underlying story line is present throughout. It took me a little bit to pick up the thread again when I first started out but it all fell into place. If you haven’t started yet, now is the time with the entire series available. Krystal Shannan has outdone herself with this one. It’s amazing. If you enjoy paranormal romance with plenty of action and plenty of steam, this series is for you. I hope you’ll give it a try.

Not sure how to rate this book/series because Krystal Shannan is a phenomenal writer but I did not like the way she took the story:
Did the author write an emotional story that made me FEEL for everyone involved? Yes!
Did she create a world that I could sink into and visualize very easily? Yes!
Did she keep me reaching for the next book and devouring them as fast as I could? Yes... BUT, I feel like she betrayed her characters and completely destroyed the world and story line she spent so much time on. Because of this, I will not read this series again and I seriously doubt I will ever read anything else by this author.

WARNING...SPOILERS, PERSONAL OPINION AND RANT AHEAD...I would compare this series to someone taking years to create a beautiful masterpiece and then smashing it to tiny pieces with a hammer.

Loved the world and characters the author created and the first book started out strong with a lot of detail and the romance was wonderful. BUT in each consecutive book the romance became more second nature to the story line and each character was made to suffer more and more before they got their happy ever after (if they got it at all). THEN the biggest issue for me was in the last 2 books when the author started killing off main characters. Characters that she had written a whole book about them getting their HAE. Characters that were an integral part of the story line. Characters that had already suffered so much, she made suffer more.

I just could not enjoy the story after this. I did finish the series just because I wanted to see how it ended and see if she could redeem herself, and she did, a little. But by the end of the series I just felt sad and devastated for everyone involved and personally this is not how I want to feel at the end of a series.

The battle for Sanctuary has begun, and there is another enemy threatening the supernatural community besides the despicable Xerxes!

The supernaturals of Sanctuary have been through a lot: families have been decimated, friends and loved ones have perished or have gone missing, but those still standing are determined to succeed and claim back their home away from Veil and rid the universe of the revolting, nauseating, evilest of the evil: Xerxes. Told in alternate points of view from several characters, Ms. Shannan refreshes long-time readers’ memories, while we reminisce with our friends, and new readers will be able to get the gist of what has happened up until then and what is at stake for everyone. MY VAMPIRE KNIGHT is the culmination of the innovative Sanctuary, Texas series, and it could be subtitled “expect the unexpected”, because Ms. Shannan keeps us on our toes from beginning to end.

Krystal Shannan’s writing is at her finest: she paints such vivid descriptions of the fierce battles, of the awe-inspiring magick, of the heart-wrenching losses, of the all-encompassing love shared by the community and the spirit that unites the supernaturals of Sanctuary. MY VAMPIRE KNIGHT is not for the faint-hearted however, and if rape is a trigger for you, be prepared, because there is heavy stuff in there, however not in vain. Ms. Shannan has again put a fabulous twist on a legendary character: Calliope is a Siren, not a mermaid, and she is wonderful, as is brooding Godric who is not your ordinary vampire. Both Godric and Calliope are strong personalities, and they find it difficult to accept that they’re fated mates, because of the secrets they both have. There is not as much sex in MY VAMPIRE KNIGHT as some other books in this series, however there is much love, and much growth as well from several characters. When it comes to paranormals, I usually prefer vampires, but Krystal Shannan’s dragons and phoenixes are so spectacular, I just can’t get enough of them! I can hardly wait for what Ms. Shannan has in store for us next!

I can't believe we are coming to the end of this wonderful series full of a diversity of paranormal. The battle begins and there are many losses, but remember from devastation will arise a new beginning. In this wonderful conclusion, we find that there is a villain other than the most evil Xerxes.

Calliope the beautiful Siren has been hiding for thousands of years in Sanctuary knowing that she could never have a mate for fear of the consequences that will arise from the mating because of the curse imposed on her and her sisters by her father. When she meets Godric her desires and apprehension collide, he is her mate.

Godric is a Djinn/Vampire banished from his land by his family thousands of years ago, now living a life of feeding off and ridding the world of evil. He has no expectations of ever finding a mate until he is sent to Sanctuary in hopes of finding help to rescue his niece Djinn Manda and redeem himself with his family. When he comes upon Calliope he is taken aback when he realizes that his mate is this very mysterious Siren. He scents the desire in her, but is confused by her reluctance to mate. He will resist his urges and embark on his journey to rescue Manda from the clutches of Xerxes with Calliope, his sister Asa, the witch Hannah and Manda's life mate the Phoenix Jared. The sadness they are confronted with is overwhelming.

Lamassu Noram is rescued from the clutches of his brother Xerxes, the only being capable of defeating him now that Rose is gone. This rescue results in more sadness for the Dragon Queen Diana and her mate Miles. But Noram only has revenge on his mind for the death of his mate Rose at the hands of Xerxes and cares naught for of the consequences of his actions.

There is much loss in Sanctuary and it is devastated, but there are a lot of surprises in store for the readers. There is much violence and even rape scenes, it is not for the faint of heart, but there is much love.

I cried tears of anger, pain, sadness and even joy. Fabulous series Ms. Shannan, I am so saddened that it has ended, but I have a feeling we haven't heard the end of these paranormal from Sanctuary.

I think after reading the entire series, I had too high expectations for this finale! I didn't get the WOW that was great!! I got the oh ok that's it? Was expecting a lot more for a last in series sadly with many unanswered questions:-(( ~~>>> ps I paid for this book and DID NOT receive as an ARC or read to review ~ only my honest opinion. I can not rate a five with so many unanswered questions in a final book of series though there were many good stories going on within just felt incomplete in ending sadly.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Godrick Devereux and Calliope Hart. Calliope is a siren and not only that she is a cursed siren. She knows that any man she falls in love with will die courtesy of a curse put on her by her father. For this reason and many others Calliope keeps herself apart from other. No touching keeping her feelings to a minimum. But after the attack on Sanctuary she is having a hard time staying neutral. She knows she needs to find her sisters and protect them now that the protection ward is off her family. She knows others need her help but she feels like she needs to protect herself first. Then she sense the djinn she doesn't know what he is doing there and if he is there to hurt the others but she must confront him. However she wonders is he their executioner or is he their savior?

Godrick is already an outcast by his own kind because not only is he a djinn he is also a vampire. He wants nothing to do with the people who through him out of his home over nothing he did himself. So when his own sister comes calling all he wants is her away from him. She pulls on his heartstrings though and tells him this is not for her but for his niece that she needs his help. Plus the bonus if he helps her then he can come home all will be forgiven. So when he goes to Sanctuary to find the person who is to help him find his niece what he didn't expect to find was his mate. However there is something strange about her and he wonders is this the beginning for them or the end? Will he be able to get his mate to love and accept him or will he be dealt the biggest rejection to date?

This is the final story in this series. This book can be read as a stand alone, however to understand all the characters I recommend reading the entire series. This book has many twists and turns in it that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. I want to tell you how it all goes and who does what but I hate when people spoil books for other readers and I am not one of those people. I will say this is an amazing book that will help wrap up all the story-lines. It is an amazing ending to this series that I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

EEEEKKKKK one of my favourite series is ending - what will fill the hole??? But what a jam packed ending we have!

Sanctuaryhas been through a lot lately. Families have been devastated by loss, torture and abuse. The prophecy regarding the Guardians and the portal to the Veil and rid the universe of the are under attack and may never come to fruition. Xerxes is unrelenting in his attacks and with Djinn on his side, they can pop in anywhere!

Godric was a Djinn who was misled by a paramour and became a hybrid Vampire. Shunned by his family he has roamed the Earth. But when he learns of his niece's abuse at the hands of Xerxes he heads to Sanctuary to assist in getting her back.

Calliope was tied to Sanctuary through a deal with Rose to cloak her existence. But with Rose's death Calliope has a finite amount of time before her deplorable father seeks her out. If he finds her, she and her sisters will once more be under his abusive control. But when Godric appears before she feels the pull of the mate bond but can she deny the link? With the curse hanging over her head and Godric being part Djinn, it appears fate is once again being a fickle madam!!

This story is told from multiple POV and that is a great way to get around all the little straggly endings for your fave Sanctuary couples. There are sexual abuse triggers within the book which some may not want to read but there is nothing explicitly described. I think it made the characters themselves stronger for what they had endured. I loved the little epilogues which tied things up with a bow. However there was a little dangly hook and hint at what might be next....so I'm now salivating at the thought of what is coming next!!!

'I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.'

Oh no! This amazing series has come to an end. Calliope was one of my favorite characters throughout the series and I was so glad to see her get her own story. Not only does she find her mate we also learn that there is an enemy that is potentially much more dangerous than Xerxes.

I did not read the last book. Shame on me. So I missed something, however it was pretty easy to catch on. Sanctuary is in trouble. And so is Calliope. Her danger has nothing to do with Xerxes though. She has a different, more dangerous foe. She needs help. That is exactly what she finds in her mate , vampire, dijinn hybrid Godric.

This is the last book in an amazing series. I've been addicted to the residents of Sanctuary, Texas since the beginning. I absolutely loved it and I definitely recommend reading. I would highly recommend reading them in order if you are new to the series. You would be extremely lost if not.

Wow, this final installment of the Sanctuary series is a roller-coaster ride. I would suggest you read at least some of the other books in the series before you read this one so you know who some of the characters are and how they got there. If possible, read them all first.

Calliope is a familiar character in the Sanctuary series. She makes all those cool clothes that fit themselves to you and are self-cleaning. I want some of them. Calliope is a siren who made a deal with Rose to keep her and her sisters safe. Now that Rose is dead, her protection is gone and Calliope knows she does not have much time to save her sisters.

Godric is a hybrid djinn/vampire. He was banished from his home by his sister and her husband many years ago. When Asa comes to beg Godric to help her save her daughter, his niece, Mandy from Xerxes, his first thought is a resounding "Hell, no." But can he really allow his niece to be held by this monster?

When Godric blinks to Sanctuary he finds a broken town where his djinn ancestry will definitely NOT be a good thing. He also finds his mate. But Calliope seems determined to keep him at arms length, even though he can tell she feels the mate-bound too.

In a world where nothing is as is seems and magic is both a weapon and a curse, the citizens of Sanctuary must find a way to beat Xerxes and hope some of them survive. Many will be lost, some will be changed, the survivors will have to decide their futures.

I really hope we get to see some of these characters again in a new series.

Godric Devereaux was born a dijnn but when he was turned into a vampire his family exiled him. Now his sister has turned up begging for his help.
Calliope Hart is a siren. She has lived in Sanctuary for many years. The town is usually a haven for all supernatural beings. Unfortunately at the moment they are at war with a powerful dijinn who wants to rule the world.
Calliope has been shielded from harm by a spell, but the woman who set the spell has been killed in the fighting. Now Calliope must find her sisters before the one who wants to kill them. She dies not need the distraction of the sexy hybrid.
This is part of a series that is best read in order. That way you will know the enemy and mist if the characters you will find. The magical battles will have you ducking for cover and the sex scenes will melt your kindle. An action packed and emotional story. I loved it.

I have to give this one a 4.5 or 5... this book was one hell of a ride. So many things happened and you will be fustrated due to the turn. It wasn't all expected, it wasn't suppose to be like that with all the hard work from one to five.
And it wasn't suppose to leave like that. But when came war, another chapter would open, winner, losers, death, living and rebuilding so that was all about the book. But it was also about our mysterious siren and hybrid.
Focusing on the 2 of them, they were great characters with great plot and certainly with the story of sanctuary at the same time.
So this book was different and also the end of Sanctuary.

What a culmination to the Sanctuary Series. This was an intense, edge-of-your-seat story, with an epic battle! So much happening and there is sexy romance, loss and sorrow (have tissues ready) and plenty of magic!! This is also Calliope & Godric's story, who go through so much but do get their HEA. This is the 6th book in the series, but this one is sensational closure and can't be missed!! I so highly recommend this whole series and this author!

This is the best book in the Sanctuary series and it is only fitting it is the last book right.
I picked up the book and I could not put it down. This entire series is one that I would love to see as a series on SYFY and plan to tell them so in detail. This book only cements my desire at how good this would series would be on the live screen.

I can not begin to tell you how much is actual inside this book because there is SO MUCH that happens. You just need to get this book and allot time to set and read it from cover to cover. Krystal Shannan is an amazing author who does not leave us hanging at all. She covers all the bases and made me extremely happy with this book. This was paranormal at it's best!

Krystal Shannan has done a fantastic job of wrapping up her Sanctuary,Texas series. It has everything we could have dreamed of and so much more. She even included several epilogues at the end to wrap up several characters. There is so much in this book that I wasn't expecting. The action, characters, romance, love, heartache, fear, lust and the paranormal world is everything that the followers of this series could have wanted. I can't wait to see what happens next in Krystal's worlds. Thank you Krystal for the wonderful characters and themes that you have brought us. I received an ARC from the author. This book totally took my expectations and shattered them. Obliterated. Anything that I could have come up with in my mind is totally what DIDN'T happen.

The series started off in the way of hope and in the last 2 books we saw that this could end differently. It did. There is so much happening all at once you need to take time to breathe it in.

This book was supposed to be about Calliope and Godric and while we have their story, we also have everyone else's. There are different POV's happening that it can seem a bit scattered. But it's important to help wrap up the story. I would have liked more Godric and Calliope time, just to see their relationship blossom but I'll take what I can get.

I'm not sure I know how I truly feel about the ending but I can definitely say no punches were pulled. At all!

We finally get clothing store owner Calliope's story and oh my this story.

Enter one man by the name of Godric who doesn't give a rats tail about the issues Calliope may cause him all he knows is she is HIS.

But this story also brings all of the people living in Sanctuary together for one of the biggest battles they will ever face. Many will fall, Many will know heartache like no other, and Many may find a new beginning.
I have enjoyed this series and to see it end was heartbreaking for me. However, this story does the ending justice as we get so many we have loved throughout the series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Wow, what a fantastic end to this series! Everyone is back and still reeling from the Sanctuary being attacked and Rose's death. They know they don't have long until Xerxes is back to finish what he started. The bonus epilogues were so appreciated, glad to know that everyone that survived has finally found peace and happiness.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I really wanted to like this series. I did like the main heroes/heroines in each one of the stories and wanted them to get a HEA. I also liked many of the supporting characters who didn't get their own stories. However, this was just too dark for me. The amount of torture, abuse, and violence was over the top. The women had to deal with things repeatedly that no woman should have to go through. There were absolutely no redeeming qualities to the villain and even a couple of the "good guys" were pretty bad. I had hoped that since this was a supernatural story some of our beloved characters might get a second chance but no, that didn't happen and I left this series sad and depressed. The final left too many holes and unanswered questions. The epic ending battle fell terribly flat. I'm really going to think long and hard about traveling down a path with this author again. I'm sure there are probably plans to visit the retaking of the Veil, but I think I'll give it a pass. Now I'm off to find something with wit and humor to erase the memories of Sanctuary, Texas.

Banished by his brother-in-law, the king of the Djinn for being turned into half a vampire, Anushrowain or Godric Devereaux as he now prefers to be called had one mission – go to Sanctuary and find a way to help save his niece Mandana Farrok from Xerxes but what happened next could change everything. Calliope Hart was used to being alone, thanks to the curse her father’s placed on her, any man she loved would die, so when she first saw Godric and felt the Magick pull her towards him, she fought it with everything she had. As the pair grow closer, will Calliope be able to keep Godric safe from the curse? Or will it keep the Fated pair apart forever?

I was surprised how this series ended. I don't do spoilers, so you will have to get this book to see how it ends. Calliope Hart is a siren who happens to have a curse placed on her. She is doing her best to keep everyone together after the attack on Sanctuary, Texas by Xerves but she knows that they are likely no going to survive another attack.

Godric Devereaux is a disowned vampire-djinn hybrid who knows he is walking into danger by setting foot in Sanctuary but knows this may be the only way of getting his niece, Manda, back from Xerves.

The sexual tension between Godric and Calliope is high but with so much at stake will she allow herself to give in to love? Will the tension between he and the surviving members of Sanctuary cause more problems? And most importantly can the surviving people of Sanctuary survive another attack by Xerves?

Ok so I both loved and hated this book. When you are reading a series such as this you get so involved with all of the characters and I was so sad in this book when we lost so many characters which was my "hate" as I just wanted a magical happy ever after where everyone lived. Unfortunately the author is too good of a writer to make things easy on my heart which made me sad.

That being said I loved how she was able to truly get me to care about so many characters that I was devastated when any were lost. The writer has taken us through such a journey in this series and the last two books were definitely very emotional with many key characters dying. Yet she leaves us wanting so much more and I now need another book to show how the managed to pick up the pieces 10 years later.

I thought Calliope was a great character and I was super curious to know what that spell was on her. I loved how she and Godric knew they were meant to be the moment they met yet Calliope was holding back as much as she possibly could. I felt so bad that she knew Rose was gone but she tried to keep that hidden in order to try and keep the hope up for the remaining citizens of Sanctuary. She was such a strong individual and really tried to keep it together for the sake of everyone else. The twist with Calliope totally threw me - ok both did and I loved them!

Godric was interesting as he was doing what he could to rescue Manda yet when he became involved with Calliope he was doing things for Sanctuary too. He was so mad at his sister when she used certain people as bait in order to lure Calvin out and I was super mad about that. He wanted his love with Calliope and that was definitely on his mind, while trying to rescue Manda.

I loved the epilogue and what I learned from it but it's definitely not enough for me and I need more!!

What an absolutely fascinating and wonderful book this was and it has been a privilege to read it. It was very well-written and the story flowed effortlessly throughout. I was totally intrigued and mesmerised and I just didn’t want the story to end. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this book.

The light from Calliope’s soul stone has gone out, a stone that links her to her sisters. Without a Lamassu’s help, Calliope and her sisters were all in danger from Him and he would be that much closer to reclaiming his power. Calliope cannot tell the people of Sanctuary that Rose is dead; they would want to know how she knew. Everyone in Sanctuary had someone else to fight for, but not her; she had survived by being strong and has no love to give anyone but her sisters. The people of Sanctuary think Xerxes is the only bad thing out there, the only monster, but he isn’t.

Godric, once a Prince of the Djinn, had been banished from the only life he had ever known. His familial obligations had disappeared with his name and title; now he is half Djinn, half vampire. Godric has heard rumours of Sanctuary and of the creatures that called it home; they protected it at all costs. Godric’s sister, Asa, has a plan to rescue her daughter Manda from Xerxes, but needs Godric’s help and that means infiltrating Sanctuary. The lure of family, of belonging again, of taking his rightful place among the Djinn is enough to convince Godric to help Asa, but what surprises him even more is his feelings for Calliope; but can he overcome Calliope’s curse. But Manda is not the immediate concern. Xerxes has kept his brother, Naram, prisoner for years and it is time to set him free; it is the only way if they have any hope of destroying Xerxes. Naram has only one thought in mind, to wreak vengeance on Xerxes and nothing else matters, not even the safety of those in Sanctuary; but what of Manda? Meanwhile, Calliope and Godric are on their way to another battle; it is time to confront Calliope’s father once and for all. As I said above, this was a truly excellent story and one that didn’t disappoint. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

This is the last book in this series and i have to say that the author just blew me away!!!!
I can only imagine how hard it was to close up all those stories and do justice to all the characters but i can say that she did it!!!!!
Krystal Shannan managed to give us an amazing ending (no matter how sad we were to see the series end).
The so loved characters struggle to fight for their home and the final battle has begun in Sanctuary.
I won't say much cause i don't want to give out spoilers but this is a book you definetely have to read!
If you read and loved Sanctuary then this is something you do not want to miss and if you haven't started it then do!
The emotional rollercoster in this book was fenomenal!
I cried and i laughed and i was with my heart beating damn fast so many times i lost count.
I don't need to mention that once i started the book i just couldn't let it down.
I think my heart broke into pieces with each endind i read and i wanted to hug the book so tight and never let it go because truth be told i just can't imagine this series ending....
Krystal Shannan has outdone herself in this book and though we might not see again the amazing people of sanctuary i know this series and all its characters will forever have a special place in my heart.

What did I think? Well, the author does not know her target audience, that's what I think. This is the finale to Sanctuary, Texas and I have to say that the whole series disappointed me horribly, but none so much as the last two books. I take my romances very seriously and it's not just the "happily ever after" that matters, but the journey to that as well.

This final book left me unsettled and unhappy. I don't care what the epilogues show, it wasn't a happy ending. The author went against all the feel-good rules, spending the entire final two books ripping the heroes, heroines and their hope apart. With each new event, I shook my head, a small part of me hoping she was going to make it all right in the end. She didn't. She screwed the pooch, jumped the shark and just generally gave an extremely bad ending. There was not one part of this finale that deserved any praise.

If you, like me, believe that love conquers all and every romance (it's a joke calling this by that name!) has a happy ending, don't sink your time into this series. This entire series should not have been placed in this category. I'm going back to read some real romances; I need to cleanse myself of this abysmal excuse of one.

This was the last book in the authors Sanctuary, Texas series, and oh what an ending it is. The paranormal citizens that live in Sanctuary have been fighting for years to get back home to the Veil, the original home of paranormals. In this story we meet a new half-breed paranormal, Godric, who is on a quest to save his niece, who he has been told his in this town. Upon his arrival he runs into the towns Siren, Calliope, and almost immediately knows that she is his mate. You need to read this story to find out why, even though they both want each other, they cannot mate without causing the death of one of them. We discover things concerning Calliope that she has kept secret. I don't do spoilers, just know that this ending book is jam packed with excitement, surprises, sorrow and deaths, but keep hopes high for those that remain will find their happiness. I recommend this book, and actually the entire series, to all those who love reading paranormal filled with excitement, surprises, hate, madness and love.

This is the last book in the series and delivers quite an exciting ending. I have read many of the books in the series and was very interested in how it would end.

This last books focuses on an unlikely couple - a siren and a djinn/vampire hybrid.

Calliope is trying to protect her sisters so she stayed on at Sanctuary to keep her agreement but now everything has changed. The town is under attack and she needs to make some decisions. Godric comes to town to try to save his niece. He has been ignored by his people because of his being half vampire and not a true djinn. Calliope and Godric are both lonely and somewhat outcasts and are drawn together.

They have this very passionate chemistry but Calliope knows it is dangerous. There are some real surprises about her past and I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve. Godric is a man who was ostracized from his society but still feels loyalty. He is determined to win Calliope's heart regardless of the danger.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
