It's my only shot. The only problem is I have no idea how to stay on the run. Growing up the way I did prevented me from learning any real survival skills. The best I can do is keep my head down and resist the urge to call my family. They can't know where I am. Because if they know, he'll find out. When he finds me, there isn't a damn thing I'll be able to do to stop him from killing me. Xavier Violet needs to keep running. If she stops, even just to rest her eyes for a bit, the other Shade and I will catch up with her, and she'll be doomed. We both will be. I have to find her. Then I have to get her the hell away from The Shades. That means I have to earn her trust. But why would she ever trust me? I held a gun to her head last night. I nearly killed her. Some moments, I think I should have. It would have been easier than this. She wouldn't have had to suffer all this fear. She would be free. But I didn't pull the trigger. And now, Devon and I are right on her tail, and there's no telling what kinds of wicked things he'll do to Violet if—no, when—he gets his hands on her. She won't stand a chance. I'm the only thing standing between her and a grisly death, and I refuse to let the mistakes of her father destroy her. I'll fight for her until the end.

Nicole York is a woman that loves the thrill of suspense. Whether that be flipping upside down on a roller coaster or sitting on the edge of her seat watching the latest thriller movie, she’s all in. If you see the sports car on the freeway flying by you, take a pic, because you probably just saw her!!

She is the one that always figures out the plot in the movie and comes up with the ending that no one else ever saw coming. It just serves her right that now in the books she writes sometimes the characters take the book a direction the author had not planned on.

Second Book...Violet and Xavier

Violet is now on the run for her life and everyone she loves. With no survival skills the only thing she can do is put one foot in front of the other and give it her best shot. She finds her saving grace at a run down motel also on the run. Confused and scared, Violet knows one thing... the one man she trusted is coming after her. The Shades won't let Xavier mess this job up and it's not just Violets life on the line now but his too. Forced to track her down to finish the job with his sadistic Shade brother opens a whole other can of worms...especially when they find Violet. Bullets fly, blood shed, death but more Shades oh the way when it's just Xavier and Violet on the run now. Violet learns why they are after her and how Xavier became an assassin... Thank You daddy dearest!!! As Xavier and Violet run they become closer and they each see another side of the other and will fight to protect what is theirs. What happens with more Shades after them and they get separated and how bad are Xavier's injuries?? Can they just catch a breath??! Love watching their characters change with each page!! Again, I love this series. This book is filled with suspense, action, unexpected drama - love it. This story picks up where the cliff left off in book 1 Dark Dream. The story starts out fast with Violet on the run for her life. She doesn’t have a clue how to protect herself all she can do is run. She stops at a run down motel to rest. She is confused, dazed and her trust shattered as the one man she did trust is coming after her to kill her. The Shades will make sure Xavier does this job if he doesn’t want to loose his life. Xavier had no choice, If he wants to live, but to finish the job - the contract, he agreed to. Now one of the Shade brothers is with him and he’s a sadistic son of a …. When they find her, bullets are fired and now Xavier and Violet on the run now together. Edge of your seat story

DARK INTENT Sins of the Night Book 2 by Nicole York
This is the 2nd book in this addictive, impossible to put down series. Xavier couldn't kill Violet, and told her to RUN. He was placed with another Shade to oversee him do the job. The problem is, he no longer can stand thinking of her dead. He will do whatever he needs to do to protect her in spite of her having lost trust in him. He also has to try to stay alive himself since he is on the hit list of the Shades since he failed on his mission. I can't wait until the next one! This is 5 stars.

loved this

This is book two in this series, told in dual first person POV and leaves you on a cliffhanger. Things are definitely getting interesting for Xavier and Violet. I love how Violet is finding her true self throughout this nightmare. I love how Xavier is finally realizing there is someone he has to live for and can possibly be happy if he can only get them out of this dangerous situation.

Nothing and no one are quite what Violet’s expecting in this book. Is Xavier just the deadly assassin or still her midnight lover? Much more than that and I’ll be giving away all the best parts of the plot. Now, I’m a little desperate to find out if there’s more behind the contract on Violet. As with the previous book, now that I’ve reached the end of this one, I NEED to know the rest of the story and I NEED to know it NOW!

The chase is on. The story carries on from Book 1 in the same gripping style. Xavier is troubled and Violet is on the run.
It’s a bit heart wrenching when Xavier is faced with killing Devon in order to let Violet live. There are some touching moments when Xavier explains what Violet’s father is really like. There are also some tense moments in the story that had me trying to read faster. Looking forward to the third book.

This is book two in The Sins of The Night Trilogy and it continues Violet and Xavier’s story. Violet is now on the run but realised that to stay alive she will have to keep going and try to not let him find her because she knows that this time she will not survive but now trust has become a issue so she is on her own for the first time in her life. Xavier is determined to get to Violet to try and gain her trust so that he can save her but he knows that it will not be easy but he will have to try because she doesn’t deserve to die for the sins of her father and then you get another explosive cliff hanger. Omg I couldn’t put this book down as it was so addictive and I can’t wait to read the final book to see what the out come will be for them all.

This is the 2nd book in this trilogy. Violet is now on the run, and atarts with Xavier and Devon chading her. But what happens when Xavier solitifies trying to save her, will she trust him again? I can not wait to start book 3 and find out what happens to these two. We are left with another cliffhanger and I am sitting on the edge of my seat...

Heart throbbing excitement. You can’t put it down. It’s like you were on the run with them. On the run, trying not to be caught, Violet and Xavier are running for their lives, literally. Trying to stay ahead of the other shades, how will they ever make it to safety? And will they make it alive? You will grit your teeth so hard that you might even break one. What an awesome, shoot ‘em up, romantic, emotional story.

This second instalment continues Violet and Xavier's story so make sure you've read Dark Dream before starting this one. On the run fearing for her life with bullets flying and monsters on her heels, how can their relationship survive? Their chemistry is so palpable and hot that might have a lot to do with it. But as the truth comes out and the plot thickens things get even more exciting. On to book three next after that cliffhanger.

Xavier knows that he will do anything to help keep Violet alive so he knows that he needs to stay alive himself.
So much drama and suspense with plenty of danger att every turn.

Things intensify between Violet and Xavier in this dark romance. They're on the run for her life. Is he still the assassin or her lover? What a great series and we're left with a cliffhanger that will be solved in the third and final book. A great series that just got better. I read an arc copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is the second book in the series. It is just as fast paced as the first book. Violet managed to survive and on the run for her life. She can't trust a soul. She has to keep her head down and stay under the radar. He is looking for her along with a partner. He needs to find her first and get her trust. What will happen if finds her?

Violet is on the run from everyone and she doesn’t know who she can trust will she be able to trust Xavier or will he do what he was hired to do. Violet realizes that Xavier and his shade brother are hot on her tail to track her down and finish the job. She finds a hide out at a rundown motel but they catch up. Bullets blood and injuries ensue but they become closer until they’re separated and have to fight to get back to eachother before it’s too late.

Oh my goodness!! This is an amazing action packed story with a little romance on the side. Cannot wait to see how this ends!
