A super light romance, where Keegan, a twenty-two-year-old student, gets a room at forty-year-old Jake, his father’s ‘straight’ best friends, house. A romance developed. It was sweet for sure but a bit awkward at times. A very shy inexperienced Keegan with a very dirty mouth. It didn’t click in my head or heart.

Jake and Doc are best friends since their childhood. So when Doc turns out to be a father, not that he is any good at it, but wants to follow his free spirit to travel the world, he asks Jake if his son can live with him. Keegan, a twenty-two year old, has been online home schooled, until his mother, who suffered medical episodes that went untreated, died of an overdose when Keegan was just seventeen. She couldn't be bothered with him, their relationship wasn't painted with love and warmth, so he developed issues being in crowds, with people and in places he felt uncomfortable with. He is shy to the outside world but inside him lives his sassy gay self. While living with his dad and grandfather, he is studying online trauma informed care. When his grandfather dies and his dad gets the travel bug he has only a few options, none of them sound great to him until Jake agrees to Doc's request and offers his guestroom to Keegan to finish his studies. Not knowing that both are similar in avoiding crowds and people, Jake, who lives in a big house in the middle of nowhere Indiana and teaches online at a nearby college but avoids his colleagues unless he has to go to a meeting, walks in on Keegan dancing dressed only in a pair of silky underwear. All of the sudden his body stands at attention, his brain goes hundred miles per hour and he questions his sanity and his sexuality. Keegan's his best friend's son, he is almost half his age and Jake isn't gay, or is he? This can't be happening.
I liked both characters and I found the story easier to follow once they both did actually start talking to each other. It turns out that even in bumf*** Indiana there are creepy, scary people. I enjoyed the little plot twists, who make sense in the end. It is age gap, which I love to read about, it is slow burn although in Keegan's mind sex is on the menu right from the start. Both Keegan and Jake take their time to get to know each other better, this leads to some adorable conversations. Keegan's character is quite compact and he has his quirks. Once Jake gets over his inhibitions he does his everything to help and protect Keegan and to become the man Keegan wants.

I’m going to have to go with 3 and 1/2 stars for this one. I loved the story, but became frustrated with the larger than normal amount of inner monologue. This is one of my pet peeves. A. D. Ellis can certainly weave a wonderful story involving an age gap relationship. However, the first 30 or 40 pages were nothing but inner monologue by the main characters.

I’m not really a big fan of men wearing lace panties or full face makeup, but I loved that right from the beginning Jake was perfectly comfortable with Keegan’s femininity. There is a sex scene towards the end of the book that might bother some readers, but I thought it was hot.

I am always excited for a new AD Ellis book and reading the blurb had me itching to get my hands on this one. Let Love in is a bit different and a bit kinkier than her usual offerings and I absolutely loved it. Keegan is the son of Jake's best friend and is staying with Jake while he finishes college. When Jake walks in on Keegan in a private moment he is stunned to find himself attracted to the younger man.
Jake is such a quiet and nurturing character and I love how accepting and supportive of Keegan he is.
However, even though he finally accepts their mutual attraction, Keegan is totally off limits. This book was such fun and a great, low angst read.

This was a very difficult review for me to write. I went back and forth on my star rating, 3 star was to low but it wasn't a 5 star read for me either. Couldn't decide if I should include my reason for my rating. You'll see why in a moment.

May/December romance is one of my favourite tropes. This is a slow burn, instant attraction with fantastic dialogue and an easy read that I enjoyed very much.

Keegan may be young, 22, but he is wise, very open about sex and he knows what he wants and goes for it. Whereas Jake is in his 40's, questioning his sexuality and is torn between loyalty to a friend and following his attraction. Their mutual attraction was instant but they took the time to get to know each other first. Their personalities and quirks made them very compatible. They are perfect together. I loved how excited Keegan got over the 'Fairy Garden'. I now want to incorporate that into my own garden.

I was given this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review so here comes the difficult part...I did not like the epilogue. Sorry folks and to you AD Ellis but I felt Jake would not have followed through with that particular fantasy. I know most will disagree with me but it is how I feel. I realize the author has written the book as to what her characters are saying to them and I respect that but for me it didn't ring true. There is no kink shaming here. However I did like the ending.

That been said it was a good, enjoyable 4 star read.

Gay for him .

The only reason this lost a star was the amount of inner monologue. I don’t mind it in small doses but I’d say it was 50/50 it got a bit much after a while. I did enjoy the story over all though. This was a new author for me and I would definitely go back for more.

Keegan ends up living with the father he never knew at 17 but having not had the greatest of upbringings he doesn’t like crowds or large cities he is quite content to be home. He is finishing he degree on line and that suits him just fine until his flighty father decides enough is enough he needs to travel again. Not being left with many options Keegan ends up living with his fathers best friend. What can happen with a man double his age single and straight not to mention his fathers best friend.

Good story easy to relate to the main characters and the epilogue was hot like seriously hot.

Good read would definitely recommend.

Let Love In is one hell of a steamy age gap romance by AD Ellis.

This is a tale of a man falling for his best friend's son, with lots of sweetness involved. With an 18 year age gap, it's falls just short of being a May to December read, but it never falls short of intense heat.

As roommates, the two get off to an eye opening start, twice. Oops. But soon they naturally gravitate towards one another. The attraction may be instant, but the relationship is a sweet slow burn one.

Their story is one of first times, a GFY sexual awakening, sexual exploration and plenty of kink. There's exhibitionism and voyeurism via a webcam show, sexy frottage, and a steamy cumdump scene. They are certainly hot together, but everything is about the emotions for these two.

I enjoyed this story a lot. Both men are complicated, with different aspects to their personalities. Both are socially awkward and tend to isolate. Their social anxiety is well written. It's beautiful the way they relate to one another and are able to understand the other's needs. I like the way the author approaches and illustrates this.

I love Keegan's layers. The poor young man is painful shy to the world, but on the inside he's a bright, bubbly personality. His's personality jumps off the pages, with him fully coming to life. His feminine side is well illustrated, with a love of lace and makeup. I absolutely love how accepting Jake is of Keegan, not caring at all that he's openly feminine. Of course, it's super steamy that Keegan's lace is a turn on for Jake. Squee.

This is a story that made me laugh, made me smile, and made me swoon. There was some short term, low angst that added to the tale, and overall it's super sweet.

As for the kink, wow, I can't get enough of the emotion behind their cum dump scene. It makes for a wonderful, emotional scene. If you're expecting just a hot scene, think again. The whole scene is about the love between Jake and Keegan.

Let Love In is an interesting read. As always, I enjoy AD Ellis's writing style. Everything always flows well and the characters continue to charm me. But it's the storylines that are sweet and keep me coming back for more. This book is definitely different than her usual stories, as there's kink, kink, and more kink. But, the emotions are still what help guide the tale.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Another Winner

I just love A.D. Ellis' books. Keegan and Jake had an instant attraction to each other after accidentally seeing each other in separate compromising situations. Jake had a bi-sexual awakening as the author puts it and Keegan decides he wants to pursue Jake and is persistent to the point of Jake giving in to his desires. The story flowed at a nice pace with just a small piece of angst thrown in that was resolved quickly. They both were home bodies which opened the door for continuous conversation which helped to avoid the typical misunderstandings that occur in a lot of age-gap books. Loved Doc and his quirky ways. Overall I just love the way the author tells a story and her books are unique, from the careers to the homes to the families of her characters. You don't come across them in other books. So I guess you call it non formulaic, which makes reading her books all the more fun. I highly recommend this and all of A.D. Ellis' books.

Jake is Keegan's dad's best friend and agrees to take him in so he can finish his schooling. Both men struggle with socialising and crowds so it seems a perfect arrangement until one night Jake walks in on Keegan and his hidden lingerie fantasy and starts questioning his atrraction to men. They dance around each other for a while and after a small betrayal of trust settle into a solution that is hot and kinky. Keegan is targeted by a peeping tom which drives him closer to Jake but the arrival of Keegan's dad threatens to spoil the cosy atmosphere that has been created. A fantasy is bought to light and is a filthy, sensual act that solidifies Jake and Keegan as one and proves they don't need anyone else to make them happy. Some sweet and heartening moments that balnce out the dirty (hot) side of it all.

Cute gay for you, dads best friend

First, let me say how lucky I was to get a free copy directly from the author, but also that it has not biased my review of the book/audio.

I liked the dynamics between Jake and Keegan; even though there is an age gap and a bi awakening, these two are good together and work.

I loved a scene in the book where Keegan expresses his fantasy. I won't spoil it for you, but what a great fantasy to have.

The narration by Bob Brill was very good. A new to me narrator, and I didn't need to speed him up like most other narrators.

Keegan Greer needs a safe place to live so he can finish school and so moves into his father's bests friend's house. I enjoyed this story with the fun-loving Keegan and Professor Jake who were both working from home while learning to live in the same house while getting to know each other. I loved the sparks that flew between them that was never going to be possible to resist. I loved their easy relationship and that they were able to (after some discussion) recognise that they were both adults. Easy to read and understand. This MM story contains mature content.

A beautiful bi-awakening

I loved how Keegan and Jake seemed to be so comfortable with each other even though they had a few awkward initial encounters. Keegan is a force to be reckoned with when he wants something, and Jake discovers he is powerless to say no to anything Keegan asks...mostly. The way Keegan teases Jake with his detailed thoughts was hilarious. The sexual tension between the two was magnificent. I enjoyed how open their discussions were and how consent was first and foremost in all their communication. The freedom to be who they were, without hiding anything, was refreshing. Their scenes were very steamy and Keegan was so sweet allowing Jake the freedom to do whatever he was comfortable with.

This is an incredibly sweet contemporary age-gap romance between two men who give each other the courage to be who they truly are. I adored both characters. Jake is so accepting of Keegan and never makes him feel ashamed or like he has to hide away. And Keegan, he is definitely a fiery ball of sass. Jake and Keegan were sweet and hot together when Jake finally gets his head on right and wants to give them a go. Although they miscommunicate at times, it is refreshing just how well they deal with the aftermath. If anything, there may be a little too much dialogue between them. Jake and Keegan have a light and fluffy story, with some good heat and kink, and a wholesome HEA.

Let Love In, by A.D. Ellis is a sweet age gap romance beetween Keegan and his father's best friend, Jacob. For all the life experiance Jacob's age has brought him, Keegan has his own life experiance that he brought to the relationship. There were funny parts, sweet parts, and super sexy parts. I will admit that Keegan had me laughing at places that, while I would love to list them all, I don't want to give any spoilers away. The ending though, had me surprised in a way that Jacob would go the route he did... But at the same time, it was in line with who he was wanting to make Keegan happy and take care of him.

A must read for anyone who loves MM romance, age gaps, and femme twinks.

I gave it 2 because it was a DNF for me. I still have it two stars because I did enjoy most of the the writing however ***spoilers*** I’m okay with different kinks do when I saw kink mentioned in the blurb I was excited. I didn’t know the kink would be a come dump scene. I stopped reading after Keegan described his fantasy because he only wants a scene like that when’s he’s in a committed relationship so I knew it was foreshadowing the Jake would set up that scene for Keegan. It was just awkward and I do not enjoy reading about sharing and scenes like that. If you enjoy scenes like that you will probably like this book. I wish the blurb had mentioned something about partner sharing.

an audio review

Let Love In is an age gap, forced proximity, dad's best friend story with a bit of kink about Keegan and Jake. Jake is Keegan's dad's best friend and has know Keegan all his life. When Keegan needs a place to stay and finish his schooling, Jake is more than whiling to have Keegan stay with him. Keegan isn't afraid to go after what, or in this case, who he wants. Jake's hesitant but can't get seeing Keegan dancing in lace out of his mind. I enjoyed watching Jake and Keegan figure out their feelings for each other. This is a sweet book and I recommend it.
Narrator Bob Brill is a new to me narrator and did a fabulous job.

This was a great read. I was drawn in from the first page.
The characters are fantastic. I loved it so much! The pacing was really good.
There was plenty of drama and chemistry, DEFINITE spice!

Jake and Keegan are similar in so many ways, but the age gap is keeping Jake from trying to proceed any further. However, Keegan is pretty persistent. There are some sweet moments and some tense moments, but in the end, it all works out for a happy ending.
Doc is pretty great too!

I am excited to see what is to come next in this series.

3.8 stars A great start with Jake having seen he can't forget about. I loved the scenes of Keegan in the beginning as i learnt more about him. Yah a few laughs along the way.. The metaphor in this was definitely different explained. Some of the scenes in this I had mixed thoughts about. Overall an good story what I liked.
• lace manties
• anxieties
• a naughty bird
• peeping Tom
• straight to new sexual awareness.
Jake 40 had a boarder his freinds son staying with him. Keegan 22 needed a place to stay while he finished collage.

Though there were emotional (and one creepy) scenes, most of this story was very sexy and fun. I loved how Jake made it clear to Keegan that he accepted and appreciated everything about him. The bond between the two men was strong, which made me fall for both of them. I enjoyed watching Keegan convince Jake that their age difference shouldn't matter, and I believed him, too. These two were well matched and made a wonderful couple. The epilogue was a sexy bonus, and I felt it was believable as a part of this couple's HEA.

Best friends son
Age gap
Forced proximity

This was a book that I couldn't stop listening to from start to finish. It's a fast paced, no angst and very little drama read. It is very high steam and one particular scene is hard-core. Tread carefully If you don't like kink. It is also a very light sweet read. I did really love all the characters and thought the 2 MCs were perfect together.

The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is due to the feelings and the relationship feeling rushed to me. Even though in terms of placement in the book it was well into the later half, it still felt abrupt and random to me for some reason. Perhaps more of a gradual build was needed. There were also a few different sub plots and I was expecting them to add a lot of drama so I got myself kinda ready for that mindset and like I said there is little to no drama so I think that also prevented that 5 star rating for me. I still I really enjoyed the story and would recommend it to anyone just wanting to read a light romance with some spice.

Narration = 3.5 stars

Jake has been friends with Doc forever. Jake is a homebody and Doc is more of a vagabond. He just can't seem to stay in one place for too long. When Doc gets the itch to take off this time, he needs a HUGE favor from Jake. Docs 22 year old son, Keegan, is finishing school and needs a place to stay while he does. Jake is happy to let him use the spare room.

Jake and Keegan both keep to themselves, neither one a fan of crowds or people. The 2 haven't even really interacted much with each other while Keegan has been staying there. That is until Jake accidentally walks in on Keegan dancing in his sexy undies. After that, you could say things got a bit awkward.

I love me a good age gap romance. Throw in some angst and make it a bit forbidden like A.d. did with this one and I'm hooked! I floved Keegan and Jake. I wanted them to be together, they were so cute and perfect for each other. There are several things standing in the way of these 2 and them potentially exploring what's between them. One of them being the fact that... ummm... Jake is NOT gay. Ooorrr maybe he is and he just needed the right man to show him that side of himself. I guess you will have to read on to find out for yourself what happens with these 2.

Wow....

So, I loved this story. From the very beginning, I was laughing. It is definitely entertaining. I'll admit that it was also a little frustrating for me. It took Jake so long to get over his issues and give in to temptation. Keegan being that temptation, obviously. Keegan is a great character. I fell in love with him from the first chapter!! Once Jake gives in, the chemistry is just fireworks!! I definitely recommend this story!!

I enjoyed this book. It was sweet even if I did want to shake Jake sometimes for being a fool sometimes.
I loved the start, where Jake walks in on Keegan dancing in his underwear and finds his chin on the floor as a result :D
Jake needs some time to progress his attraction to the much younger Keegan with the added worry what it would do to his friendship with Keegan's dad.
I'm not always a big fan of age gap romances but I enjoyed this one. These two just seemed to fit together so well. :)

I rate the book 3.5-4

Let love in is a best friends son, age gap, sexual awaking, slow burn story.

Keegan comes to live with Jake to finish college when Keegan’s dad leaves town. There is an instant attraction. As the men start to spend time and get to know each other they find they are not only attracted to each other but enjoy each other’s company and more alike than you would think.

With that said, Keegan is relentless in his pursuit. Jake keeps pushing him away due to his age and Keegan’s dad. Lol. They really are a perfect match for each other. I loved their banter, the gardening, how they find time for each other everyday (I found meal time special).

There was a little suspense thrown in there which I wished we saw more of The Who, The Why, etc.

This book was surly more kinky that what we are used to with AD. The epilogue just wasn’t something for me but it could be for others.

I absolutely loved this marvelous, sweet, charming, hilarious, engaging, grab-you-by-the-feels, tug-at-your-heartstrings, delightful, steamy, slightly kinky, adorable, lovely, and totally awesome twist on the age gap, dad's best friend, and forced proximity storylines. It had me hooked from beginning to end, and I would definitely recommend getting this gem for yourself.

This was a steamy, sweet and fun book.

Keegan and Jake were just wonderful characters to get to know and cheer for. The author didn't turn their doubts and insecurities into too much angst, and I really liked that. It was just the right amount to make watching their journey together a realistic, heartwarming and absolutely enjoyable reading experience.
