“Don’t put all of your eggs in the same basket” is an old and trusted platitude that has served many-a-good follower. The world in all its experience and wisdom has broken one of its own cardinal rules by depending so completely on computers, the World Wide Web, the fast-paced, ever-changing development of new hard and software, and their false belief that they are safe and secure behind the firewalls they have constructed to ward off any and all threats. This is a pipe-dream with no solid foundation and it will soon cost them dearly.
The X Legion is a group of bored adolescent hackers, worldwide that have banned together in an attempt to entertain and excite themselves by flexing their cyber-hacking muscles and performing various clandestine attacks on personal, public, commercial and military databases; raising as much consternation and havoc to the person, company or governmental department. All for fun and bragging rights among their peers, making themselves virtual heroes.
A good rule of thumb is, what one man can create, another can break. In more exact terms any firewall, cyber-protector or anti-viral program can be hacked and passed; a sad and shocking truth. In an obsolete ordinance bunker complex at West Fort Hood, Texas the 401st Signal Detachment (Cyberknights) is billeted. The unit’s motto is: seek, strike, destroy and their one function is to seek out, identify, and destroy every and all threats to U.S. Government.
The world, including the United States, is constantly fighting unwinnable wars. These include The War on Drugs, The War on Terror, and The War on Cybercrime, none of these aforementioned wars will never be won but forever fought to keep us safe and free. The armed forces are never completely in peace and are owed a huge debt of gratitude for taking a tenacious position in waging these unwinnable wars.
