4.5, Would be a solid 5 stars if it had one or two more chapters on meal planning, plus added pictures. Overall I love the concept, and I am an absolute beginner when it comes to meal planning, although I am a seasoned vegetarian. This book makes the idea of both simple, and not intimidating, especially for a newbie.

As a dietitian, I am always seeking easy and effective ways to get people into the kitchen to help prevent, address, and heal from chronic health issues often driven by inflammation. This book is a fantastic resource. Not only does the author, Ginger Hultin (a dietitian, hooray!) break down the effects of inflammation in a way that's easy to understand and backed by solid scientific evidence, but she provides tons of helpful tips on meal prepping and planning to help enable the journey into the kitchen a little less treacherous for those who may be less familiar with the territory. Plus, the anti-inflammatory recipes, all of which come with handy dandy shopping & equipment lists, are pretty divine! Bring on the Southwestern Style Stuffed Sweet Potato, Ginger Turmeric Carrot Soup and Chickpea Salad with Creamy Avocado Dressing. I was thrilled to see so many great tempeh recipes. And can I please eat the Cherry Quinoa Cocoa Breakfast Bowl EVERY day? She makes the "break up with processed foods" easy and do-able with very little heartbreak. In fact, I bet she will help folks create a bevy of new love affairs!

Weirdly, this book went against almost everything I've read related to anti-inflammatory diets and contained things like soy, lectins and grains. So I'm just confused over here. Also, honestly, not many of the recipes appealed to me flavor and texture-wise.

Loved it! This may be a diet meal prep book but the advantages of eating anti inflammatory foods will definitely benefit you. Not only does the author do all the work for you but gives great tips and tricks to cook a recipe that is amazing.

What did I like? This book has some fabulous recipes that look and sound amazing. From hummus to fish tacos there are some yumminess in your future. Book has its own schedule and meal prep with only anti inflammatory ingredients which make this a lovely book to have if you need to reduce inflammation in your body. A natural remedy to boost your immune system.

Would I recommend or buy? This was an amazing book with a serious purpose if your looking to help your immune system through foods. I would love a copy since I have an autoimmune disease. Fantastic recipes although I would love more pictures.

I received a complimentary copy to read. Four stars and a useful book.

Don’t skip this part of the title “6 weekly plans and 80 recipes” OMG the best recipes I’ve seen in a LONG time. Okay let me tell you a little about the book before I get into the recipes.
The book has 10 chapters and you don’t even notice because the chapters are short and chapters 3 – 10 are filled with delicious food. The author is a registered dietitian nutritionist, I LOVE the fact that this book was written after Hultin help with clients dealing with pain, fatigue and autoimmune diseases. The one chapter in the book that blessed me was “Understanding Inflammation.” I never knew inflammation in my body could be the cause of my elevated blood pressure, wow. I also learned the focus of this read is knowing the food we eat everyday can fuel or calm inflammation. This is exactly why it is my plan to incorporate MORE fruit, vegetables, whole grains and beans and adding more of these spices into my diet ginger, turmeric, and garlic.

Anti-Inflammatory Diet Meal Prep is an extremely handy cookbook that I will be referring to frequently. The introduction presents a scientific, yet concise easy to understand explanation of Inflammation and the role of diet in controlling it. I loved the meal plan presented that allows meals to be prepared ahead and saved for use as needed. The recipes are practical and sound delicious. When I look through a cookbook for new recipes, I do so with a shopping list in hand. I hardly had anything written while perusing these recipes as most of the ingredients are things already on my shopping list or in my pantry. Nutritionist Ginger Huntington has made it easy to plan and prepare healthy meals to aid I. Preventing and controlling Inflammatory Diseases.

There has never been a better or more important time for this brilliant book - not only does it walk the reader through the basics of how to implement an anti-inflammatory diet, with clear explanations about why this type of eating pattern is so effective and healthful, but it also helps one to understand how to properly meal prep - one of the most essential life skills. Hultin is a thought leader in her field and one of the premier experts on this topic. Do yourself a favor and get this book now, plus an extra copy as a gift for your loved ones - there is nothing better than the gift of health and this is as close as you can get! BONUS: the images in the book are mouthwatering and beautiful, and if nothing else, will inspire you to get cooking!

Great start into an anti-inflammatory diet!

I enjoyed this book and the recipes, I've tried a few and was not disappointed! The book starts with the basics of the diet, how to start meal prepping and then has a 6 week meal plan and ends with extra recipes at the end. I like that the meal prep starts with only three recipes the first two weeks and builds up the next few so it has you easing into prepping and gives detailed step by step instructions on the weeks prep. I have another prep cookbook that just did a weeks worth of meals and I was just overwhelmed and never did it again but this plan seems to ease you in. I have and would recommend!

I really like how the book is laid out, but there isn't enough variety for the meals. I have no problem eating the same thing each day through the week. In fact, like most people with digestive issues I prefer to do that once I have found something that won't make me sick. Unfortunately, the author only gives you one choice of recipes for the meal plan week and I couldn't eat most of the stuff that was listed the first few weeks (oats, soy, fish). A lot of the recipes are made with oat and soy so that made this book pointless for me.
If you don't have any food sensitives though, this book may be perfect for you.

I actually liked this as a book about understanding how to lower your inflammation in your body. It gives a lot of no-nonsense, study-backed research as to what you can do to make your diet naturally lower in things likely to exacerbate symptoms of your chronic illness. I would read the theory and ditch the meal plan; the meal plan adds unnecessary steps. Keep in mind that across the board, most of these books tout whole foods - so the theory found in the beginning of the book was really helpful, but I didn't try any of the recipes!

Picked this up after a youtuber raved about it, only to be left wondering WHY.

Going in expecting fun recipes that help with inflammation and i received a semi informative book on inflammation, alot of bean recipe's, and repeat ingredient recipes. Of the book ive made two recipes: blueberry oatmeal bake and lasagna roll up. Was hoping for more but they didn't sound yummy to me or my family (we are not big bean people but we are a try anything once family.)

Its overall not bad just not for my family so off to the donation bin it goes.

Soon to be one of my all-time favorite cookbooks! Highly recommend the work of this fantastic author – both a chef and an expert registered dietitian who skillfully breaks down the science behind anti-inflammatory foods into digestible bites and then serves it up in mouthwatering, practical recipes. Hultin’s work is beautiful to look at and accessible enough to become your collection of go-to cornerstone meals. Healthy, science-based, and unbelievably delicious!

This is EVERYTHING I want in a diet cookbook. To begin with I battle with IBS and was interested in this to see if it would help my problems. The beginning is a quick background before Ginger jumps right into the beautiful layout. She took the stress out of planning, shopping and cooking. She gave us everything in this book. Just flip to your week, cook the assigned foods on prep day and your week is solved. She even gave us that weeks shopping list for your ingredients. How wonderful is that?!

Very happy with results

I was put on medication and was swelling up like a balloon. I have always watched my diet and was exercising, but the weight was still coming on. I researched and discovered this book. My average cost for ingredients each week is $50.00. I love the step-by-step instructions. The first week alone, I've lost 3 pounds and can wear my wedding ring again.

Delicious sums it up

I love the recipes, they are simple and delicious not to mention healthy and advantageous for you. I believe anyone could benefit from this book , it gave me many ideas and I tweeked a few recipes and shared with several of my friends. The multi spice is awesome on everything !!!! A few Discrepancies and I feel there should be more of these delicious recipes are the reasons for my rating. Nothing is perfect.

The average anti-inflammatory cook book

This is nice with many great recipes. However none of these kinds of books deal with people who have allergies. Many people with chronic health issues have allergies. I would like to see some cookbooks with meat, no nuts, no coconut, no milk.

I really wanted this to be a 5-star book. And it wasn't a bad book. There just weren't any recipes in it that my family would enjoy. We're "real" food, "no frills" eaters. Meat and three. I'm the only one in my family that had even heard of tempeh. So, unfortunately, this just wasn't a very helpful read.

Great recipes that I would actually make and eat.

I look forward to doing this. Good recipes with normal ingredients. The step by step make the meals for the next week will be so helpful to not make an unhealthy choice because I got home late and no time to cook. I appreciate all the healthy whole food ingredients.

Good information and recipes

Of the anti-inflammatory diet meal prep books, this one has both good information and a variety of recipes from which to choose.
I plan to try several of them, at least the ones that aren't too spicy.

This book is well organized and well written. However, it does not take into account food allergies. Since it doesn’t do that, it does not offer substitutions.
