“Don’t come any closer,” I warned, my FBI badge useless in the face of this fanged monster. “I’ll scratch and bite.”

“You’ll crawl and beg too.” Phantom promised as he strode closer, a glint of desire danced in his eyes. “And that Special Agent…will only be the start of it.”

The Costello’s were mine.
Mine to corner. Mine to hunt. Mine to bring to their knees.

I’ve hunted Ruth for years now. Sat outside her house. Tracked every shady deal she’d ever done. She’s my ticket to her family, and the entire cesspool they play in. The Costello’s are lower than low…they are liars…they are mobsters.

They are Mafia.

This is more than a case for me. This was personal. The last bullet in my father’s ruined policing career. He’s a drunk now and alone…and I’m his only visitor—pathetic huh?

Only a war erupted. A war which I’m now part of…a war between the beasts that roam west of my city and the powerful Immortals they answer to.

I replayed that night in slow motion. Fangs. Blood…and Phantom. The Alpha of the Wolves. The one I saved from a rogue Vampire.

And the one who saved me.

I carry his bite mark on my shoulder…and the memory of his pack.

He might think he has a handle on me…

He might think this is more than what it was…

He’s about to find out how wrong he is.

It was a quick and easy read. Slow burn. But very alpha male. I did'nt like Carina much in the first books. But now that you get to see more of her, i understand her more. She had a sad past but she came out stronger. She's very fierce and know what she wants and is not affraid to go after it. When she meet Alpha Phantom things get hoooot. And trow his pack with it and thing are on fire. It was a good book with a great cliffhanger and i can't wait for the next book!

So I have mixed feelings. The storyline was good. I loved how the supernatural world mingled in with the human world but it still has its own place in the world. To be honest it looks like I’ve started to read this book out of sync. But it didn’t actually matter. I am not sure if anyone who has read the series would disagree with me.

This book centres around FBI special agent Carina Chase. Her fight to find out the truth of what happened to her father all those years ago. While tracking down a lead, she ends up in the middle of a war between vampires and wolves.

I love a good shapeshifter story and the wolves did not disappoint.

It’s the first time I couldn’t really get invested with the characters (most likely it was just a me thing) The story is really good, there is no doubt about that, and just the right amount of Smut.

Everything is not what it seems
This book is the middle of a overarching storyline, and they probably should be read in order. But I didn’t feel lost, the author gave enough background information that I could slowly fill in the gaps. Although it did feel a little like getting dropped in the middle of the deep end at first. And then I was sucked into the story, where the characters were phenomenal full of depth and emotion. I just didn’t want to put it down, especially when the action and danger really heated up. That was until the end when I’m innocently reading along, the excitement is building and building, and bam! Cue the commercial, this story is to be continued. And I absolutely can’t wait to read the next installment!

I have enjoyed books from Faulk before and I love a good PNR romance that offers something different from the run of the mill story. This definitely met the brief with the heroine being agent of FBI who has no clue what she got herself into .
The Mafia aren’t the just the guys who rule the town . They have other powers and the heroine has gotten caught up in the war. Carina really gets to shine in this book. After sitting in the background and doing her job. It’s nice to learn more about her and understand what makes her tick. This was an interesting addition and the next book will be a painful wait.

Note: I received this book via Booksprout and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.

Wolf's Bite is the fifth book in the Mafia Monsters and it was fire! I cannot express how much I love this series, each book just draws me deeper into this world filled with blood, violence, and hot supernaturals.

The first three books in the series are Ruth Costellos' arc. Ruth's arc was amazing and I hated saying goodbye to the characters (although I'm hoping there will be more) and I loved Ruth, she wasn't perfect but she was brave and strong in a world that didn't want her to be.

FBI Agent Carina Chase was first in Ruth's arc, she was trying to take down the Costellos and I will admit, Ruth is my girl and I didn't like Carina. Wolf's Bite is the beginning of Carina's arc in the Mafia Monsters series and I am sorry to say that I still don't like her. She has had some bad shakes and her life is a little sad but the woman is annoying. Carina has some great qualities, she is strong, determined, knows how to defend herself (unlike Ruth), and is devoted to her job but her negative qualities kill me.

Carina has zeroed in on a clue that points to the Costellos, which it really isn't any kinda clue and she focuses on Ruth, calling her names, making snide comments and is determined to take her down but after reading Ruth's story and then Wolf's Bite it is blatantly obvious that she doesn't have any clue to what's going on and is pinning all her anger on the wrong person. She also would have a breakthrough but then she'd take two steps back and while the people she trusts treat her like crap and the ones who care for her she fights and treat like crap and that just gets under my skin.

I do have hope of Carina, that the wolves will change her for the better because let me tell you the wolves are something else and if she doesn't want them I sure as hell do. Who am I kidding I want all the (decent) supernaturals in this series because they are a little swoony. They have that bad boy vibe, the butt who treats his girl right but is powerful as F and will destroy those around them if pushed and that makes me swoon. I don't want to give anything away I just have to say that I love how phantom is with Carina, he is caring and determined even if Carina point of view is skewed and she can't really see it.

The storyline is amazing, Wolf's Bite was popping from the start. The story picks up where Vampire's Promise left off, in the middle of an immortal war. Things are crazy and fast, this book is filled with supernatural politics, trust issues, steamy scenes, blood, and violence, and I loved every single second of it. I am so addicted to this series. I love how Ruth's arc is entangling with Carina's and I can't wait to see Carina get the answers she doesn't expect and with the theories and questions I have, I've created a whole outcome for this arc. I also think that an important character got introduced and I wanna know if I'm right.

Wolf's Bite was everything. Things were fast, heavy, and explosive. So much has happened and with they crazy cliffhanger that was the end of Wolf's Bite, I am dying for Wolf's Hunger because I gotta know what's gonna happen next.

I wish i could give this book more than 5 stars because its worth much more than that

FMI Agent Carina Chase (FMC) has popped up throughout this series and now she gets her own book. Which gives you more of an insight into Carina's background and what motivates her to set her sights on bringing the Costellos (mainly Ruth) down. A loner with a prickly, no-nonsense attitude shes not exactly a people person. So when she meets Alpha Phantom they clash in more than one way. More so in the bedroom and its hot as hell to read!! In fact the whole pack - Arran, Vitold and Church steamed up my kindle so flaming much!! I enjoyed this book as much as the others in this series and that cliffhanger ending im dying for the next book now. This one was so bloody good

I read this as part of a compilation with I Don't Kneel For Monsters, also by Atlas Rose. I will grant that this book was significantly better than that one. But that's a long way from saying it's good. It could be a heck of a lot closer though, if Rose hired an editor...or even just enlisted a friend to beta read and keep track of the inconsistencies. About halfway through this book, I posted a whole Tiktok suggesting some authors need a beta service geared solely toward keeping track of a character's clothes so that they don't take bras off twice, etc. And though I didn't name her, Rose was who I was talking about.

I'm generally pretty patient about editing. But Rose's editing is so consistently shoddy in this department that I started to lose my will to continue, after a while. Oddly, it's not even typos and the normal sloppy editing. Rose just can't seem to keep track of the elements of her plot. A wolf approaching someone who is already leaning on him, for example. Clothes that get taken off or ripped up more than once, etc.

Outside of the editing issue, I'm torn. I did like the characters. I especially liked how desperate Phantom and his pack were and how we got to see his POV, even if he showed an alpha a-hole face to the world. I'm interested to know what happens next (if I can tolerate more of the inconsistencies).

I wasn't aware that this is a spin-off series. And there were definitely some elements that made no sense to me. Characters were named that were not in the book, a whole war raged for reasons I didn't know about, etc. So, I would not recommend reading this without reading Rose's other series (despite being labeled book one). And it ends on a cliffhanger. I am SO tired of books that don't end!

All in all, I think I'd continue the series if I came across a free copy. But I don't think I'd buy another book so poorly edited.

Book 4 in the Mafia Monster Series. After being spelled at the warehouse fight by an unseelie, FBI Special Agent Carina Chase had desire pulsating through her unwilling body and had no choice but to accept help from the Wolf, Phantom. She had saved his life so he was going to save hers, even if it meant mating with her. It wasnt just desire that flared but Phantoms beast claiming that tore through Carina's body but she had a job to do and that was to bring down the Costellos like her father had tried so desperately to do but only ended in ruining himself and her uncle Lenny. Back at work Carina thought she gave her boss the big break they needed but he only paired her up with Murphy the man who had harassed her with phone calls. Woth the desire building up inside her Carina reluctantly goes back to Phantom for release only to realise she was bonded to him and what belonged to the Alpha belongs to the Pack aswell; Church, Vitold and Arran, all of them. With more twists and turns in the story of the late Costello empire, will Carina ever get the evidence she needs to save her fathers reputation? And will she be able to accept the bond with the wolfs and give in to their wanting desires. Well written with a gripping story line and chemistry bursting characters you cant help fall in love with! With suspense, desire, lust, action and mystery! Cant wait for more!

dazed and confused

Ok. So let me start off by saying this book caught my attention with just the blurb. Sounded awesome and was right down my alley. Although I read this in a day, it was a very painful read. I hardly ever not finish a book, even if it sucks. This book did not suck. Interesting plot with the FMC being an FBI agent and sexy alphas. Sexy time scenes were hot. Now here is where the problems start. I made sure to check that this was book 1 because who wants to read books out of order right…….. 🙄 well guess what friends.. it is not in fact book 1, although that is how it’s labeled. This is not a standalone series. This is a CONTINUATION of the Vampire Mafia monsters series. Which means that if you start here (like I did) you’re going to feel like that person who is always on the outs of the inside joke. I was SO CONFUSED. There was so much story being talked about and characters mentioned that I was lost 80% of the time. Which is annoying. I pushed through because I wanted to see what would happen between the FMC and her men. I’m conflicted if I even want to go back and read 1-3 and honestly I’m not sure if I’m going to continue on to 5. This needs to be relabeled as 4 or there at least needs to be a note saying the order it should be read in. I feel like if I had started at 1 and then continued with this part of the series I would definitely continue the rest of the series.

Wolf’s Bite is the 4th in the Mafia Monsters Series and I have to say that it starts of with an explosive action from start to finish. Wolf’s Bite is best read as a series. I tried to read just Wolf’s Bite and I could read it alone but feel that to understand certain references (I am hoping) it would be better to read as a series. This is the first time I have read a book for Kim Faulks and Alta Rose and I have to say this will not be the last. I intend to go back and read from the first book in this series. Wolf’s Bite has lots of action and I love reading about the world that Mafia Monsters inhabits. Reading about Special Agent Carina Chase and Phantom. Their story is one with lots of steam but they both fight it. Well, Phantom’s wolf wants Carina but Phantom did not which the wolf side I believe won out. Carina and Phantom are both used to being in control and they have a lot of problems especially when Carina tried to run from Phantom when she overheard Phantom and Mojin talking and she panicked. Anyway, don’t want to give too much away. But if you want to find out what happens between Carina and Phantom you will have to read the book. Warning…the end has a big cliffhanger and will definitely make you want to read the next book in the Mafia Monsters Series. I highly recommend Wolf’s Bite actually the whole series. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Special Agent Carina Chase of the FBI has been trying to uncover the truth about what actually happened to cause her father to be fired from the force. Almost to the exclusion of everything else. It has led her to several things several times until now she found herself right in the middle of a war with Vampires, Wolves, and Unseelie. As she's literally fighting for her life she ultimately saves the life of Phantom, Alpha of the wolf pack, from a Vampire. Then when an Unseelie has ahold of Carina, Phantom saves her life. Unfortunately, it wasn't before the Unseelie implanted Dark Fae Magic into Carina. If you've been keeping up with the "Mafia Monsters" series, then you know the exhilaration you're about to come face to face with. If you haven't and this is the first book you're about to read, then be forewarned. I guess technically, you could read this as a standalone, but you'd be coming into the middle of the over-all story and then face the cliffhanger. These are addictive, compelling, nail-biting, sitting on the edge of your seat while your emotions are taken for a ride with these characters and their scenarios. I can't wait for the next one.

What an introduction to the wolves!!
The story starts with a blast, almost quite literally.

We meet Special Agent Carina Chase, the one who's determined to find the mystery behind her father's downfall, who's ready to risk herself, who has a tough as nails personality, a loner but yearns for love and family.
Phantom is the alpha of the wolves pack who saves Carina, helps her in dealing with the dark fae magic and eventually wants her for his pack.

There's complicated politics, secrets, desires, a possible upcoming fight and a lot more going on than said!!

As soon as the 4 wolves convince Carina to give them a chance, there's a new problem rising. This book ends on a cliffhanger & I'm so very excited for the next book!

You can still read this book even if you haven't read the previous books of the Mafia Monster Series. Initially it'll take time for you to understand some characters, but you'll catch on easily.

Terrific Read

The story was good, action was awesome , strong and badass but tooo much horny of a fmc (liked her more than Ruth).

The only thing that kept irritating me and made me wanted to throw the Kindle at times was the ill timing of the fmc turning horny or just simply daydreaming and going into a panic/anxiety attack. Like yeah I know why she started to behave like a b*tch in heat at times but most of the time it occurred when she was in the middle of something important, like why couldn't the author make her suffer from the bouts of lust when she was at home or driving, like why always in the middle of investigation, meeting with seniors, etc, also the way she always went back in the past and kept freaking out like an amateur and not like a seasoned FBI agent made me feel like pulling my hairs. The MCs were all awesome and brilliant I want me some Phantom ❤️

I loved Carina more than Ruth, hell I started warming up to her only in midst of book 2 , but Carina yeah I liked her from the beginning , her strength, resilience and badassery were a total win(even though her freak outs and horniness at wrong times did irritate me)

★ “The hunter staked his claim.” ★

—>>> Finding herself in the middle of a supernatural mobster war was worth everything to Special Agent Carina Chase, anything to bring down her nemesis, Ruth Costello. But one thing leads to another in matter of split seconds, and the next thing she knew, Carina was at the mercy of the sexual throes of her own body, and there was only one male around who could appease her need, Alpha Phantom. The next thing she knew, she had his bite on her shoulder.

This next set of stories of Mafia Monsters opens up with a screaming start as we get a clear view into Carina’s vengeance for her family, as she is the only one who has been trying for the last several year to right the wrongs. As usual, the politics in the town are what rule these powerful immortals on their side of the river, but supposedly not more than the secretive Inner Circle. Now, there are four wolves willing to fight beside her to keep her safe, and she is not sure if there is any room for one, let alone four. I cannot wait for what comes next!

Wolf's bite by Atlas Rose and Kim Faulks is the fourth book in the Mafia monsters series. You don't have to read the previous books, but they are recommended as you will understand what's happening better. There new and different main characters in this book than in the last ones. Wolf's bite will pick up from where the last book left us, and it starts with a bang.

This book has an amazing storyline. It's fast-paced and has plenty of action and mysteries. Wolf's bite has plenty of steamy scenes, blood, violence and hot men. There is a crazy cliffhanger at the end, and I can't wait for more. I need answers and more of the men.

Carina is not a perfect heroine. She has her flaws, and at times I didn't like her, but at other times I could relate to her. Made her seem more human and real. The men were hot and sexy.

I would totally recommend this series, and I'll continue reading it.

GAHHH HOLY CRAP. FORWARNING IT ENDS ON A CLIFFY AND I WASNT READY.

I fully rate how good a book is on whether or not I know a cliffy is coming. And I was so wrapped up in this book that I turned the page and it was over and I was left gaping like a fish.

This is the fourth book in the Mafia Monsters series and it was So. Damn. Good.

We first met Special Agent Carina Chase in the first three books of this series and tbh I hated her... BUT within the first chapter I was sold. It’s pretty hard to hate a bad ass bitch who can take on anyone. Enter our lovely Alpha Phantom and his pack of wolves and it was a done deal. Arran, Church, and Vitold are mouth watering. It’s amazing to get to read and explore more of their personalities since they were first introduced to us.

Chemistry is straight 🔥🔥🔥. I highly recommend starting this series [even though it’s on a cliffy] because it’s an action packed, intense, J/P, paranormal series that’s straight up 🔥🤯🤤😏

GO READ IT NOW. I NEED NUMBER 5 ASAP.

Shizballs, this book was killing me. This starts off with a literal bang. LOL! So we have Carina who is an FBI agent and she runs in the middle of things with one mind set and does not think of the consequences until it is too late. In this case, that is what happens. Only now the only way she can be saved is by the wolves. The turmoil she goes through internally is a battle of will. Then you have Phantom, Arran, Church, and Vitold who realize fate is cruel but putting her path in front of them. Then you get thrown in the vipers den, I mean FBI and will she finally see that not all is what it seems. Who can she trust? She was looking to take down Ruth but it looks like there may be something that becomes more important. Gah, this is hot, intense and so much mystery. I can't wait to see what will happen next.

PHANTOM!
.
I have been wanting more Phantom since we were introduced to him in the beginning. Everyone who knows me, knows I love a good wolfie book and this was no exception.
.
I love Phantoms intensity. Some people may not but I loved it. Took me awhile to connect with Carina but she turned out to have more to her than just a score to settle with the Costello’s. She intrigued me on some level. I can’t put my finger on it but she does. That twist ending had me shook. This book had a whole different side to the first 3 and I loved it.
.
Getting to explore a different side was eye opening. I’d love to see more. The characters were great. Gotta say, justice was my number one but Phantom is a close second. He has so much hidden depths and mixed with his animal side it was a treat to dive into.
.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series. There is still so much to learn and explore with this world I don’t want it to end!

I loved the first three books in this series. The MC in this book is FBI Special Agent Carina Chase. This book picks up right at the end of book three but in her point of view. Carina is gunning for Ruth the mc of the first three books. They are almost like both sides of a coin. We get to know more about Carina and her quest for vengeance but that's just the tip of the iceberg. The mortals are on one side and the immortals on the other side of the city. She saves Phantom the alpha of the wolves and then he saves her. That changes everything. Now shes being pulled into the immortal side of the city. Everything is not as it seems there are lies, deceit, and betrayals everywhere and some are even in her workplace. Luckily shes got four hot wolves looking out for her. Wolves that want to be with her if she will stop fighting and let them. I reccomend you read the first three books before this one so you can better understand the characters and the world they live in.

There is a lot going on in this story, which is a continuation of the Mafia Monsters Series. The Immortals war continues and the mortal female who is front and center is FBI Special Agent Carina Chase. Her goal is still to get justice for her father and uncle by taking down the Costello family and to try and bring an end of the war before it spills over to the mortals side of the city. This is book 4 and the start of the wolves story. It is full of danger, violence and Carina trying to come to terms with the feelings she has for four wolves, Phantom, Arran, Vitold and Church. The story is well written and grabs your attention. There is a cliffhanger that will continue for a few more stories before it is fully answered. This is a great read and I would highly recommend it.

Man, this book is action packed.. and there’s so much going on-the immortal war and all the politics do continue in this book..
Carina is alittle annoying.. set in her ways and trying to prove herself at her job.. I hope the wolves will help her because they are something else.. super hot
There are steamy scenes and enough bad boy alphas to drive you crazy .
It picked right up where vampires promises left off and it has everything you need in an immortal book.
Although I didn’t care much for Carina.. I get that she is dedicated to her job.. I can’t wait to see what will happen in wolfs hunger because I have a feeling the wolves are going to change my mind about Carina..
That cliffhanger ... I recommend this series to anyone who loves vampires and wolves.. it’s an excellent read and it’s so fast paced I couldn’t believe it was over .

Wolf’s Bite is the 4th installment in the Mafia Monsters Series, and let me just say I want my own Phantom. Man, oh man, did he surprise me in the best of ways! I was curious about him ever since Vampire’s Kiss with his wolfy hotness. The wolves have just had me so intrigued and I loved reading about them in this book, especially Arran, Vitold, and Church (yumm). I seriously can’t wait for Wolf’s Hunger, because that cliffhanger made my heart stop!

Carina is an interesting heroine and there were times where I wanted to smack her. However throughout the book I did get to see character growth, and just hope that the next book she really comes more into her own. The storyline is awesome, the steam factor scorching, and I really love the tie in from Ruth’s trilogy. Bring on the war, blood, sexy times, and more supernaturals to fall in love with!

A female FBI agent has been implanted by some type of jewel that drives her to need sex or die. An Alpha wolf realizes what has been done to her, rescue her telling her what is wrong and offers her himself.Their town is divided on one side of the river is human and the other is the beast or other paranormals but now she will be caught between them. There are many secrets in this place but if it's good or bad she just wants to find out the truth then they can all just deal with it. But they're are those that don't want secrets to get out and they are ready to kill for it. Should she trust the wolves or the cops? This was a good story as you follow her path of discovery as she tries to deal with the fact she finds, the physical pains and the mental stress as she learns each new thing.

The fourth book in this powerful Mafia Monsters Series. FBI Agent Carina Chase has been on the hunt to bring down Ruth Costello and her family for years. She was not counting on saving or be saved by the Alpha Wolf Phantom. Caught up in the middle of a war among immortals was not the plan but it got her the proof she was looking for plus so much more. The question is who are the real monsters...that’s for you to read and decide. Violence, power, sex, action, lust and love all these elements that keep you on the edge...and I so love the edge. Amazing writing...awesome book...addictive series!! If I could give this series more stars I most definitely would!

This is the fourth book in the series and I picked up this book cause I wanted to diversify my reading and, well I wasn't disappointed...

The story begins with a bang and it just gets more interesting as it proceeds...
Carina being an FBI officer has no fear whatsoever in walking into situations without any backup...
She meets Phantom when is in midst of taking down a criminal, and there is instant chemistry between the two of them...
Things get interesting when Carina can't get enough of Phantom but tries her best to stay away from him...But the bond between them is so strong that she always finds a way back to him...

A really great book which I enjoyed reading, kinda bummed that it ended on a cliffhanger, and now I can't wait to see what happens...

I loved the monster Mafia series with Ruth Costello and her gang of vamps. BUT I've always been a wolf girl (Taylor Launter anyone?), so when I saw the next one in the series is all about WOLVES yes please... I didn't really like special agent Carina Chase, for me she was just downright annoying but that's because she was stuck on a one way road to revenge. the sex scenes with her and Phantom (The alpha) were hot but not HOT. I'm expecting this to heat up in the next book... Overall the book is 4 stars for me mainly due to it being the first book in Carina Chases story. I know I will grow to love her eventually.

Wow! That about covers it. There is something sinister going on and it looks like it's going to get a whole lot worse before it starts getting better. The first three books were great. This one is to. I love the different groups of immortals and it's killer watching the relationships develop. There's no way to get bored. It is full of action its not just sex. Finding out who the wolves and Carina really are is fun. I

This book is a sexy, action packed, paranormal RH read that is difficult to put down. These characters are exciting and this storyline is addictive. Carina is a tough, feisty and stubborn FBI agent determined to put an end to the crime consuming her town. She finds herself in the middle of a war while fighting her all consuming desire for a possessive alpha male leader of a local wolf pack. She soon finds herself drawn to all four males in the pack. She is torn between her life as an FBI agent and her desire to belong to this pack. This is a great story and I highly recommend it.
