Stalking His Bride

Rate this book
One glance was all it took for her to steal my heart. That brief moment had changed the path of my life. I didn’t know anything about Carly, but I got this feeling. An undeniable one and I knew then and there she was mine.

But I can’t let her know, not when her mother has all these plans for her. I’m finding I too am trying to plan out her life but one that includes me.

I slip into her life helping her check off her list of dreams one by one. Keeping her close to me but trying to hide my growing obsession that might send her running.

I knew in an instant that there was no living without her, but keeping her will be a fight--one I’m prepared to win, no matter her mother’s future plans for her.

The only bride Carly will be is mine.

Fast pace and some steamyish moments.

Carly is excited for her friend getting married to her dream guy and shes hanging around Reeds cousin James, who she thinks is cute and has a crush on him. But deep down doesn't think he would want for many reasons plus her mother is planning to make her "marry someone" on her check list. But that doesn't sit well with James he's already planning to make Carly his, she's his and now hes going to show her how good they are together. Starting with her Bucket list. He even buys her a dog!! ❤❤❤

James is a true sweetheart and all the things he does is so cute. I do wish Carly stuck up more for herself when it came to her mom. Like girl your a grown ass adult stand up for yourself.

No ow/om drama, no cheating , Slight secondary charas, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

"Stalking His Bride" is the story of Carly and James.

In this sweet romance, the hero meets the heroine and falls head over heels for her. He then goes and makes all her wishes come true, slowly makes her fall for him, they make love and the book ends in a HEA.

Enjoyed it.

Not much to this and pretty silly- talk about insta-love. I had an hour to kill and didn’t want to start anything new, but I think I wasted that hour with this.

James and Carly

I think we all fell a little bit in love with these two in the last book. Carly has parents that are a challenge. James does everything he can to let her see he is not like them. James is so sweet and strong. I enjoyed their journey. HEA.

Carly and James were super cute together. Watching James snap like that at the wedding was awesome and I was glad he finally made his feelings clear.

Side note, I really liked James' mom. I really like it when authors write the mother in law in such a positive way, that's just my own weird quirk.

I absolutely loved these stalker cousins. First Reed and now James.
This is such a sweet story about a man that will stop at nothing to have the woman he fell head over heels for.

So. Much. SWOON!!

This was another steamy sweet winner from Lucy darling.

Carly is the best friend of the woman marrying his cousin. And when James sees her, he plunges head first into obsession and devotion. He’s determined not to freak her out tho with his ardor. So he tries to keep a tight leash on his passion as he works to make her dreams come true and get her to fall in love with him.

This is a safe book, there’s no cheating, no other woman, and only one scene where the heroines mom introduces the h to a guy she has picked out for her, but there’s no interest from the heroine or any sexual contact. Heroes past isn’t mentioned and the h is a virgin❤️ there’s an HEA with an epilogue a few years out

A love at first sight read with an alphas obsession knowing no bounds. James knew the minute he spotted Carly she was his forever. Now our lead male will do whatever it takes to steal this innocent beauty for himself.

Carly is our heroine she’s super sweet, innocent and sheltered. Finally out from under her mother’s control she’s trying to experience life before she’s summoned back home. The perfect trophy wife for whatever man her mother deems worthy.

But Carly knows what she wants. Her best friend Tinsley has it with her soulmate Reed and she wants that.

A super quick read that’s swoon worthy in the extreme. No drama! No cheating! A yes yes from me.

Great little Novella. If you like stalker romances this is for you. James is a loving but possessive alpha trying to make an inexperienced girl he fell insta in love with, love him back. The stalking really isn’t even super heavy in this book so if your not a fan of dark stalking you don’t have to worry about it in this story. Has a sweet HEA. Will most definitely read this author again.

I enjoyed this story because the romance is sweet and the passion is hot. The male character is baffled by his own obsession for a young woman. He'd made fun of his friend for that very reason, the irony, and now he's planning a wedding and babies.

First, though, he must court the lady! I loved how seriously he takes his job of wooing her. She's been groomed for a loveless marriage by an overbearing mother, and believes she cannot have a man like him.

Luckily, that means he is especially thoughtful in his courtship. Lots of juicy moments, a besotted man, a cute pet, and a final outburst of lust from a man who can no longer deny his desire and love. Yay.

For some reason just couldn’t get into this one. I think it was the characters James and Carly as I just wasn’t feeling their relationship and I found the other characters from the first book Reed and Tinsley randomly popping in kind of annoying too

Immature h

The first half was ok. The h seemed so naive. The H is showing his interest, they're getting intimate, spending all their time together. And then, at 80%, she's apparently still unsure of what they're doing. So, she doesn't introduce H to her parents. And when they bring a guy to meet her, she doesn't shut it down. In fact, when H becomes bossy and jealous, she gets irritated and at the same time excited. I mean, yeah he was a bit of an ass. But imo she was more of an ass than him. It felt like she was just using him until her mom tells her who to date next.

Now, the h did mention she wanted freedom and to become independent. But I dont think her reasons justified her actions. She seemed like a vapid, selfish child who didn't know what she really wanted. Sigh. I didn't finish the book even if there was only 20% left. She just got on my nerves so much. I wish the H had found someone else.

I love Lucy Darling’s sweet romances, and I’ve come to accept the sweet young virgin h‘s she always writes. It’s a bit of pure spun sugar, something we can all indulge in occasionally. My only beef with this story was I really wish Carly had stood up for herself, innocent and young doesn’t mean doormat and Carly came frightfully close to that.

Stalking His Bride, a sort of sequel to "Stalking His Claim", was about James Weston and Carly Becks. Carly was the BFF to Tinsley from the other book, and James was Reed's cousin.
This story picked up a week after "Stalking His Claim" ended. Reed and Tinsley from that book were preparing for their wedding. James was set to be the best man and Carly was to be the maid of honor. From the first moment he had seen her, James had been captivated by Tinsley's BFF, to the point he felt he was becoming like his cousin in the stalking business. He couldn't get her out of his head. The one thing that he couldn't find an answer to was whether or not the beauty was pregnant. When he eventually learned the truth (she wasn't preggers. In fact, she still had her v-card), it made him even more excited to get to know her better.
The author used a lot of short, staccato sentences when writing this that broke up the flow of the reading (i.e. "He pulls out my chair. I sit. I take the menu." "He offers me his hand. I take it..." Ugh!).
Side Note: Once again the author didn't state the ages of her main characters. However, at least it wasn't far into the story before the MMC mentioned that the FMC was "over 18", and the FMC mentioned that she thought that the MMC was around ten years older than her. Then she stated later that "He’s in his late twenties". So that also put her around the 19-20 mark if he was 10 years older than her.
When James learned that Carly had a "bucket list" of things she wanted to do before her mother married her off, he was determined to assist her with as many as possible. But then again, he was also planning on her not marrying anyone but him.
The further this reader got into the story, the more pissed off I got at just how controlling of a mother this girl had. I wanted to reach into the book, find the woman, and beat her silly. But I loved how James helped Carly gain in the area of her self-esteem and to take control of her own destiny.
This story had more push/pull than the first one, but it also had more angst, drama, and a touch of heartache that the other lacked. The heartache stemmed from the imagined pushing away by each of the characters at various times throughout the story. There weren't a lot of twists and turns in the plot, so it was more of a straightforward reading.
The characters were well-developed, if a bit stiff. Carly's character acted more like a young teenager than an adult for most of the story, but that was probably because of how controlling her mother had been all of her life. It was nice to see her mature and grow as the book progressed. James' character started out stiff and ended up more relaxed, although not in how he protected Carly at all times. It was a cute story that merited a four-star rating.

This is Carly and James story, the two meet for the first time when James follows Tinsley (from Stalking his Claim) to the drug store. He sees Carly holding a pregnancy test and asks her if it’s hers. He is instantly struck by her and can’t stop thinking of her. Carly has finally gotten free of her overbearing mother and has a bucket list of things she wants to do before her mother makes her return home and get married. James tells her he will help her with her bucket list. He slowly over a weeks time makes sure he is all of Carly’s firsts. They do everything but consummate the relationship, which has Carly fearing he is losing interest. He’s afraid that he is coming on to strong and not letting her spread her wings like she wants and needs. All misconceptions get cleared up after Tinsley and Reed’s wedding. They declare their love, put her mom in her place and have their hea! Cute epilogue with lots of loving and babies.

We were introduced to Carly and James in the previous book, Stalking His Claim.

James is Reed’s cousin and Carly is Tinsley’s BFF. James saw Carly in a drugstore while with Tinsley and the moment he saw her, he was basically obsessed. He starts coming around while Carly is visiting Tinsley, using the excuse that he’s “checking up on Reed.” They start spending time together and goes from there. The whole book takes place over a week or 2, so definitely an insta-love sorta thing.

I like that James is the obsessive type even though he tries to hide it. He’s all about Carly but she has her own issues with her parents. They didn’t really end up being that much of an issue like the book kept making it out to be.

There was a nice epilogue with an HEA. I enjoyed it but not as much as Reed and Tinsley’s book. 3⭐️ for me.

The good kind of stalking...

Who would've thought there was a good kind of stalking. Well in this story there is, so if a super sweet and thoughtful, yet dominating and domineering type of guy is not your cup of tea, then steer clear of this story.

If you want to know more about how these two met, then you should definitely read the story prior to this one which features a different couple (her best friend and his cousin), but it's not necessary to read the first story. What I liked best was how the story got straight to the point of it all and didn't waste time with useless details. That was exactly what I was in the mood to read. What I didn't like was how fast the ending came and went. Always want a happily ever after to drag on just a little bit more 😁 If you like Alexa Riley stories then you'll enjoy this one.

Awesomesauce

Another amazing book from Lucy Darling. She has the he'll is possessed male down and continues to write a story line that far, far from boring or dragnet. Her stories are never rushed and they have some amusing parts, especially when it comes to having the H stay away from the h. James is back and he has become his cousin's counterpart in the love department. Good thing Carly is Tinsley's best friend. Just a reason for James to spend more time with his cousin Reed. A girl trying to break free from her mother's hold and a man willing to do anything to hold her just as tight.

This is a great follow up book after reading Stalking His Claim. We get a new couple to read about while still seeing more of Tinsley and Reed’s story.

Carly and James are so adorable. Their story is so similar to Tinsley and Reed’s but in ways so different. The one thing that’s true is how obsessed the men are with their women. James is full speed ahead with Carly. But of course they have the same miscommunication as our previous couple. James is trying his best to let Carly learn how to spread her wings and be her own person and Carly starts to feel like she’s done something to contribute to Jame’s reserved behavior.

It’s an instalove story with a HEA.

James is completely obsessed!!!

When James met Carly he was instantly infatuated. He kept showing up where she would be just to be near her. Carly has a bucket list of things she wants to do before her mom tries to marry her off to some man she deems suitable. Then she meets James and she really likes him, but she figures whatever they could have would be short lived cause her mom would never let her choose her own husband. But James is determined to get what he wants and he wants Carly, forever!!! This is a sweet read and I highly recommend it!

Okay I’m all for the possessive jealous hero who relentless pursues the heroine- I mean I live for that trope- but where is the dilemma??? Where is the conflict? I think it just falls short in that area. But that’s not why this book has 2 measly stars from me. It’s because the author made a grave mistake in my book- she said Carly had soft brown eyes in chapter 1, then she had the bluest eyes a few chapters later. I mean come on, it was her physical appearance that hooked James in the first place, all that “innocent beauty” look, and now she fluked that up?

No. Just no.

Another short and steamy read, following up on Reed & Tinsley's story.

Tinsley's best friend has moved to the city to get away from her over bearing mother and the pressures that are forced on her. Carly doesn't have long before her mom comes barking orders at her and marrying her off to the first eligible man she finds. But James has other plans, from the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew that she would be his. James is on a mission to make Carly fall in love with her and he'll go to whatever means necessary.

it's possible i just wasn't in the right mood for this kind of sweet, feel-good novella. maybe i'd feel differently about it on another day but right now im not interested in the story or the characters. and this might just be me but when a romance has the word "stalking" in the title i tend to expect... some actual stalking? or at least for the hero to have a dark side. maybe i'll give it another try on a day when i want to read a sweet, cutesy romance.
