When the Second Seal breaks, the war to end all wars will finally begin."The Second Seal" is book 2 of an apocalyptic horror series recounting the final days of human civilisation.
The various story lines and characters introduced in book one start to pull together in this installment. Characters from all walk of life around the world all playing their part knowingly, or unknowingly as events march towards the coming cataclysm. From inquistors and demons, to teachers and children, to sleeper cells and detectives, to a skeptical author roped into writing a book and playing a role in events he never conceived of. Each piece building to a terrifying picture.
This is horror - and the book includes torture, violence, murder, sacrifice and demonic ritual - truly ghastly acts BUT it is not the hack slash variety. Most of the truly gruesome happens off stage in the reader's imagination. The detached, almost clinical narrative voice is at times almost more disturbing for the lack of emotion. The absolute cold bloodedness with which events transpire is the stuff nightmares are made of. It increases the plausibility of such events transpiring today.
This is book 2 in the Apocalypse Prophesies series. Much of the world building and character development is done in book 1, read that first as book 2 just jumps in where book 1 left off. Beware, it will creep into your nightmares, and you'll never be able to thin about nightmares the same way again.
A powerful look at what revelations is going to be like. I think that this is barely the tip of the horror to come. Full of demons, priests and Inquisitors. Each character has a prudent role throughout the books. Some are so vile and some you don't think can exist. Once you start this fast twisting and turning rollercoaster ride you can not put it down. Fearfully and wonderfully written. Still have goosebumps all over. If you are a believer and believe in revelations then take the time to read this terrifyingly good book. Received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Not as good as the first book but still it was enough to hold my attention. I do wish he could spend a tiny bit more time on some of the characters and maybe cut a few out as some stories that seem important don't really get enough screen time and others that feel like 'filler' just waste space. I like the plot, the pacing is quick but he leaves a lot to the readers imagination instead of actually telling us the story. Oh and for God's sake stop using the world Whilst every time!
I was raised in a very religious family and I am very knowledgeable about the book of Revelation. Although no one knows what hell is like and what it will look like but Sean's idea of it I think comes very close. The end days is not something I look forward to. Well written and a great cast of characters. I recommend reading this because it is a great story.
This is a continuation of the first seal. I found the book very interesting for the also with the same trigger warning that there is violence, torture, and death. The left is still in the picture along with the other inquisitors. I recommend this book to all, who like a different version of the book of Revelation
This book is one of my favorites! It has everything you could want in a great read.It has good vs evil to the max. Both book one and two in this series were very hard to set aside for even awhile. I can not wait until the next one comes out!!!!!!!
The second in the Apocalypse Prophecies Series, starts right off where book 1 ends with Stone writing Horn’s story as the Inquisitors seek out demons. Definite shades of Dante’s Inferno, darkness that catches and hooks you from the start.
I burned through the book in two days as it is one of those novels that you say to yourself "well ok, i will just read one more chapter". Well written with a totally gripping storyline, I can highly recommend. Just started the 2nd book in the series.
This such a vivid storyline! It's a thriller, a harsh and horrific view into the lives of various characters; so many threads deftly tied together, presenting an enthralling tale.
An awe inspiring account of the coming apocalypse. It is obvious that the author has done his research. I like the characters and found them very believable. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.
Well researched and written. At first I thought there were too many characters for me to follow, but now it's as if I were in the author's head. Definitely making me think and rethink own devotion.
It continues the story of Giles Horn, the Antichrist, as he works to bring about the end of the world. The breaking of the Second Seal unleashes chaos, with the Middle East in flames and the war to end all wars beginning. The book explores themes of survival, corruption, and the battle between good and evil while introducing new challenges for characters like Lilith and Emily Ralph. It's a gripping continuation of the series, diving deeper into the horrors of the apocalypse.
Each book in this series is a terrifying roller coaster page after page. The author has really grasped the genre and made it so real while you are reading it that you have to look up and around you to make sure which world you are really living in. A really good book. I
