Perform at this bachelor party, they said. No one you know will be there, they said...

Parties typically aren’t a big deal, dance, flirt, then go home at the end of the night. My name’s Hollis Moore, burlesque dancer and a whole lot of woman that doesn’t have time for people who look down on the job I love. Thank goodness for my three besties who let me vent at girls’ night. That is until one bachelor party has an… interesting twist.

Perform for my childhood best friends.

What could it hurt? I’ve had crushes on them for years, and everyone knows a night of dancing and booze doesn’t equal love. After an unforgettable night, Grant, Beckett, and Carter all try to convince me to rewrite that equation.. Against all odds, I’m somehow starting to believe them.

How will my bestie feel about me hooking up with her brother, and will my own brothers ever accept me falling for three guys?

Book 3 of the Besties & Booze shared universe

The Besties & Booze Series is a WhyChoose/Reverse Harem shared universe meaning the female main character in the story doesn't have to choose between her love interests. There also is MM in this book. Each book ends in a HEA and can be read separately, but it is recommended to read in order.

Performed by Suki Williams

I Give this Book a 3.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.

Relationship Type: Reverse Harem > RH >MMFM, has a MM relationship within later. Female Focused, MM Lite.

HEA(?): Yes.
Romance: 3.5-4ish/5
Heat: 3/5, there is a bit of heat.
The heat scenes for me were not as spicy as I was eagerly anticipating.
From the way Hollis was talking I was really expecting ‘out there’ or kinkier scenes that is hard to find in RH books especially...
But in that area, Hollis was mainly just voicing out the sexual appetites instead.
I personally would’ve liked original or more creative scenes.
Rather then the ones I had a feeling were going to happen in the book, I really need to be surprised.
Suspense: 3-3.5/5
Drama: For me there was way to many thing to focus on, this is a much more drama based plot. 4-4.5/5
*I did get a little overwhelmed on remembering all the characters.
Pacing: it is a bit slow at first and then it picks up to a Mid Pace.
It is fast paced in the wrong areas for me, and I can’t really get a sense of days passed though either.
Overall it does have a Fast Paced Feel.
Dark(?): Not at all :)

This is pretty much a: starting a harem, then getting used to it & working it out as relationship based Harem.
I do feel like the wrong things were focused on in some areas, everything outside the harem especially side characters felt much more important.
The actual focus on the Relationship itself between Hollis, Carter, Grant & Beckett, it does feel a little bit muted and takes a backseat.
It felt more compacted near the end, not quite a stamped HEA but almost.

This book is definitely for readers who prefer more drama focused RH reads.

Hollis is so many things that I see in myself:
✓ Regards feelings as though they should come with a warning label
✓ Has an unabashed appreciation for food and true crime shows
✓ Sass for days and no urge to muzzle herself to make anyone else happy
✓ Can enjoy love when she gives in to it but doesn't NEED it to make her happy

I read a lot, so I've definitely gotten a taste of the whole gamut of leading ladies that run amok in the RH universe: the damsel, the quirky influencer, the princess, the hardcore b*tch, the kick*ss and take names girl, and more. Now, Hollis has little bits and pieces of all those greater puzzles, but to me, she's refreshingly normal. I loved the chance to see myself in Williams' story, including the fact that, as a curvier girl myself, I feel like we don't always get to be the one the romance is shaped around. Supporting cast? Sure. Sass machine for comedic relief? Absolutely.

But a curvy girl with a fiery spirit getting the chance to be worshipped and shown that she's worth it? That's not something I can just casually find. No, I have to go hunting for that.

If you've read the other Besties & Booze books, then you've gotten a taste of who Hollis is on the surface, and what Williams does is what every good author should do; when it's Hollis' time to shine, she goes beyond just being typecast. She has OTHER traits, imagine that, than what we've seen in Audrey & Lanie's books, and there are real feelings, some baggage, and a relatable girl underneath that surface hype.

Along with Hollis, we get the chance to see more of Carter, Beck, and Grant. Each of Hollis' men is someone who's been a fixture in her life, so Performed has the best of that friends to lovers trope going on here, even if it's not 100% smooth sailing. Despite there being some bumps in the road, because again, feelings should come with a warning label, we have a nice balance of the cutesy moments that we read romance for, some s*xy playtime, and those down to Earth moments that are cozy and comfortable like that blanket you curl up in when you're watching someone getting chopped to pieces on Criminal Minds.

Overall, the plot and character arcs read smoothly, there was enough s*x and chemistry to keep my eyes close on that page, and I now have a newfound respect for carrying giant purses. Who knew you could fit a d*ldo collection in there? Aside from now knowing I've been living my life utterly WRONG, I couldn't be happier to have taken a trip into Hollis' journey.

This is a series that will keep you wanting more. Once you meet one member of the Sugar Squad, you want to meet the rest of the gang. This group of women are so hilarious, supportive, and down to earth. I started this series with Hollis' story in Performed, and thank goodness these books are standalones so I don't need the others to have an understandable storyline, although that will not stop me from diving into the other books as well. Focusing on Hollis and her story, what I loved the most were the positive messages it gave about escaping abusive relationships, sexual orientation, and body positivity. There are so many relatable situations that readers can connect to in this book, instantly pulling you into the real-life and believable situations presented and keeping you at the edge of your seat to see what will happen next. If you're a fan of friends-to-lovers romances, this will be a triple treat for you. It really shows that even though a friend knows the real you and can predict your reactions to certain scenarios, it doesn't guarantee a perfect relationship. Oftentimes friends hide issues from each other to save the others from dealing with pain, guilt, or anger about what happened in the past. Behind that well known smile and sarcastic humor can be some serious trauma. This book showed both how to and how not to react to finding out news about your significant other. Expect sweet moments, heartbreaking arguments, jokes that will make you crack up, and so much more.

Amazing story, Ending not what I'd expect.

It was a great book and I really did enjoy it, the story was well written and intriguing, the only thing that really ruined it for me was the ending and unfortunately I'd say it's not as good as the first two.

They went from talking and understanding eachother to completely ignoring eachother and hurting eachother which was all wrapped up and forgiven in no time at all, honestly I was annoyed with Hollis and her men's behaviour it was so immature and after everything they did and went through in their relationship I felt like this was just not like them at all.

Also it made her brother's out to be absent where as in the other books she's always talking about how she'll call her brother's, her brother's will help and then in her book her brother's where absent as a child and they're not really there for her emotionally but that doesn't seem like her brother's either.

It made me cry more than it made me laugh honestly and the ending just didn't feel like enough, even though they technically got their HEA I was still left sad.

This book was such a treat to read. It is on the lighter side, although there is some drama in it. Hollis was an amazing character. She is so down to earth and not ashamed of who she is. While she did have some issues to work through due to a previous relationship, her self-confidence was an inspiration to see. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Even though it might take her a little bit to do so, she does go after it. She is human and knows she has flaws. But she is open to working through them. I loved how the guys were there for her and knew those things about her. They were accepting of them even when they had their own things to work through. They were always willing to get through things together and that was important. You can see how much the friends and their SO support each of the main squad. And the Hollis’ brothers were such good brothers. No matter what they were there for Hollis. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a sweet with a little heat read.

Performed-- I did not know what to think when I read the title. Let me say that this book is amazing. So I was drawn into the book at the very beginning because I love a character who is carefree and funny. That is Hollis. She loves to dance and hang around people she cares about. Although she may not have had the best choices in her previous relationships with men. She still carries on. She also has her own insecurities that she battles. This is where Carter, Beck and Grant come in. These men have know Hollis since they were kids. They all want to be with her and care for her. However there is history with a couple of the guys. It is quite interesting. So this is going to be a bit challenging. I love the banter between all the characters. Some of it is funny and some is sad. I was in tears at one point so you may need tissues on hand. Overall this was a great book to read.

Curvy, bodacious, full of life! Hollis brings it to the table! This book had me doubling over in laughter quite often and it is was completely unexpected from Williams. If I could, I would read this again. Although, it should have come with a towel warning. Like... you will need one. Hollis had such a WONDERFUL character growth. I was able to relate to her and while it hurt to see myself in Hollis, it made me more emphatic to the story. I think that the ships with her men will also call to a lot of hearts out there and how they shouldn't hide who they are. <3 This book was amazing guys! Must read!

In the nicest way possible, I think this was all just a bit too bland for me. I don't read a lot of contemporary, small town reverse harem so it could be that this isn't my genre.

I liked the burlesque element and the friends-to-lovers element, but the chemistry (sexual and otherwise) between the FMC and her guys wasn't really there in my opinion.

If you're not going to have character conflict or relationship drama, then at least the spice should be on point and I don't think it was.

That said, it was well written, just probably not for me.

Amazing!

I loved this book. Throughout it there is always the theme of loving yourself. Hollis has always faced comments about how she looks but she has always loved who she is. She does have the thoughts here and there that she isn’t good enough or something os wrong with her. This makes her relatable because we all have gone through those type of thoughts. I loved how the guys are always there for her and take a chance on things.
Must read!!

Moar standalones!!!!

This was just perfect! RH romcom standalone in a shared world with other RH authors. This just hit the spot. In a world of waiting on series to be released, these rapid release standalones are excellent to fill the gaps. Gorgeous curvy burlesque dancer AND three hot guys? What could be better? Oh! I know! How ‘bout if two of those guys play ever so nicely together?!?! Heck. Yes. Can’t wait for book 4! 💜

Go Hollis

Go Hollis, I'm her number one fan! I love this book for different reasons than the first 2 books, Hollis got so much struggles to get trough before she even could think of her happy ending and I love that her story was written this way, don't we all have some kind of Dillon in our life who should be gone before the introductions were done.

5 star read and a perfect fit to the first 2! On to the last one :(

Overall a good read

I liked the overall story, but Hollis' continued issue with labels and relationships got to be too repetitive. Just work on it and stop being so over the top. The guys were likeable, but also could have helped her more instead of not reaching out after she did.

I liked that she was a burlesque dancer and embraced her body. Very cool. This is my first book of this series and may read more. I would recommend this book.

Hollis, Grant, Beckett, and Carter are amazing. Their story was sweet. Everything Hollis was going through hit me. I love how they worked through everything. This book has some m/m in it. This is part of the Besties & Booze shared universe and can be read separately but is recommended to be read in order.

I absolutely adored this book. Hollis is an incredible character who makes you want to be her friend. She might even be my favorite of the besties! It was nice to read about relationships that flow at a more natural rate due to their histories. Between the steam, the drama of ex boyfriends, and of course the relationships between Hollis and her girls Performed is an all around good read!

Really good RH story. Friends to lovers. SW creates a world that draws you in and makes you feel right at home. She makes you want to get to know the characters she creates. So much so, the reader wants to be friends with them or even become the characters. This book was very enjoyable and I will read the other books in the series because of it. Contains M/M.

Good

This missed the mark for me. It started out well with Hollis taking no nonsense and being independent. However she began to make me uncomfortable with how much she relied on alcohol (yes I know it's besties and booze) and not the besties. The finale made me annoyed with everyone especially Hollis, who was completely at fault and overreacted.

Superb!

Hollis is a mess and I love her for it. She is a feisty curvy woman with tons of sass and she is so relatable! I love the guys and their complex relationships. I love that this wasn’t easy insta-love. They had to work and it’s fantastic. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down.

Great book

Yet another great book in this series. I loved the main character, strong curvy women, with grit and holds her own.
3 interesting, hot men that are all very different but have secretly had a thing for her since high school.
It’s well written, with great twists and turns along the way. Overall a great read, will definitely read Played next.

Hollis is a hot mess that you can help but love lol and the guys, phew. It was nice to read a book where at least one guy is shorter than the MFC and not all 6ft or taller and "greek god" or "Adonis" built. Also, Beck and Grant were just the cutest once they got over their bs

Totally fun read with lots of hot guys and so much booze. Dancing to their own beat Hollis and her men maneuver the chaotic poly life with all the growing pains of a budding relationship. Don't miss out on this sweet treat of a story.

Love love love

I adored Hollis and her guys! Each of them complimented each other so well and the character depth that Suki was able to pull off in a stand-alone is commendable. The humor was on point and the steam was soooo good. You don’t want to miss this one.

Great read!

This is the third book in Bestie and Booze series, featuring Hollis. I enjoyed reading Hollis and her crushes finally come together. I pictured Hollis different after reading the first two books. Plus, we got less of the sugar squad.

Wow

As a big girl myself, I love it when a man can appreciate a woman with curves. I'm glad they completely support her lifestyle. Hollis confidence is inspirational. Looking forward to Bay's story!

We get snip bits of the past(very small amount) that the characters had with each other and how they fell in love but because it’s all tell and no show it makes it hard to connect with them and see the chemistry. Even with m/m which I love, it didn’t make the sexy time sexy.

Maybe it’s just me.
