When a Middleton causes a scandal, it's never by half measures...
This was certainly the case with Willow Middleton, who had thrown every bit of care to the mid-May breeze and... married the imperious duke her sister abandoned at the altar moments ago.
But how is a bride to win over her bossy husband?
• Disobeying his every rule probably won’t help. • Perhaps some kissing is in order? • Maybe even some seduction? • Unearthing his every secret is definitely recommended. • Falling in love... completely out of her control.
Tanya Wilde developed a passion for reading when she had nothing better to do than lurk in the library during her lunch breaks. Her love affair with pen and paper followed soon after she had devoured all of the library’s historical romance books!
In 2020, she won the Romance Writers Organization of South Africa (ROSA) Imbali Award for Excellence in Romance Writing for Not Quite a Rogue.
When she’s not meddling in the lives of her characters or drinking copious amounts of coffee, she’s off on adventures with her partner in crime.
Wilde lives in a town at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, South Africa.
I really am enjoying this Historical series, this book focuses on Willow and Ambrose who we meet in book one of the series and happens during the same timeframe of the wedding until Holly and Brahm's wedding.
We see behind the mask that Ambrose has created and the reason why it is there, we also see more of Willow's backbone and the way that she worms her way under her husbands resolve and mask to get to the real man beneath whilst still being the same strong woman.
Both characters grow, especially Ambrose and i enjoyed seeing more of Poppy and i really hope that she gets a book of her own along with Ambrose's brother Lord Jonathan.
I really am enjoying this series & love the Middleton sisters.......the 2nd book in the series is based around Willow & what a strong willed, pretty, mettlesome young lady was. Her unplanned marriage to Ambrose Brandon Jonathan Griffin, 8th Duke of Ives was to cover for her sister Holly who was supposed to marry him. He is a brooding, serious, list making, handsome Duke and Willow hopes he will go through with the marriage. The journey to their HEA has many twists, turns, humor, romance and finally love. I enjoyed the main characters and felt the really fit together well and the secondary characters were great! I highly recommend this book and the series!
Four stars because I loved Ambrose and Willow. She had enough backbone for a man that stubborn. When he let go of his control boy he let go! Story was well told and fun to read. My only problem was a few times words or phrases were used that didn’t seem to fit in the timeline of the regency era. Liked it better than the first in the series. I hope the third is also a good read.
tanya wilde is a new fave yeah! she writes snarky, dry humour so well, my preferred kind of humour. ambrose was never 'icy, broody, stoic', that facade lasted for a whole of two seconds, thank goodess. he was funny when his world got turned upside down. the side characters aka their siblings were entertaining too. they felt real and natural. i thought poppy would end up with jonathan but upon research, she doesn't. i might read her book next because she was sharp and sarcastic as hell
I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Ms Wilde and look forward to possibly reading a story about the third sister, Poppy, in this fun group of Middleton family characters. I'd love to see a story devoted to Willie's brother in law, Lord Jonathan. He seemed like a another interesting guy! I also look forward to reading more of this authors work.
Mischievous sisters and up swapping places during a wedding. One becomes a success the other goes on the run. Who would figure that the success would love her duke? Who would figure her duke would love her back?
Tanya Wilde is a fun read. I love going from book to book, continuing with old friends as picking up new ones. I am hopeful that the next story will be about the middle sister or the Dukes brother. Can’t wait to read what happens next.
Sweet ,Hilarious and hot! I loved Ambrose and Willow's antics so much!!!! Aww, I can't wait for them to have little angels running around. Amazing epilogue and hats off to Ambrose's drool worthy cunning and person ;)
I liked both the stories in this series. Enjoyed the way her characters interact and witty dialogue. Can not wait to see a story about Poppy too. The middletons are loads of fun. Give this series a try. Also check out the misadventures series too! Highly reccommended.
