Il sogno di Solomeo è quello di un contadino che, seguendo i valori umanistici scoperti nella vita rurale e nella fi losofi a, diventa un grande industriale. Un sogno in grado anche di mostrare che si può restituire vita ai centri antichi e nobiltà alle periferie. Brunello Cucinelli ripercorre il suo cammino personale ed evoca il senso dell’umano appreso dai Greci, che ogni giorno l’ha accompagnato nella ricerca della saggezza e della pratica virtuosa. Le sue guide sono la dignità morale e quella economica dell’uomo. I punti cardinali che orientano questo viaggio sono la bellezza, quando è unita alla custodia, e la vecchiezza, quando è amata dai giovani, la ricchezza, quando è unita al dono, e la semplicità delle cose davvero grandi. Nasce così il concetto di “lavoro giusto” come rispetto della natura, dell’uomo e della sua aspirazione al sogno: è questo il “capitalismo umanistico”. Dei maestri del passato si ritrova in queste pagine la ricerca del silenzio, del raccoglimento, e di quella luminosa solitudine popolata di ricordi e pensieri che è l’unica condizione per non essere soli.

Brunello Cucinelli is an Italian billionaire in the fashion industry. His current fall line includes a pair of jeans for $2,000, a $3,000 silk shirt, and a ribbed jersey t-shirt for $1,000. While Cucinelli's clothing line may be accessible to only the most wealthy in the world, he is a man who cares deeply about respecting the dignity and worth of all people. Cucinelli is known in Italy for his great generosity, humanitarianism, and for his patronage and support of the arts. In fact, his support of the arts is what led to our family meeting him, spending time with him, and being the recipients of his patronage. This book (I read the English translation) outlines his business philosophy which he calls "humanistic capitalism." His philosophy involves giving back, seeking justice for all, cultivating beauty in the workplace, seeing all humans as brothers and sisters, and acting as a guardian to Creation. I would recommend that any business owner should read this book and consider the principles that have not only made Cucinelli extremely successful but that have also helped thousands of employees, a village, and a region of Italy to thrive and find dignity and beauty in their daily lives. Un inno alla speranza di creare un mondo migliore, basato sulla dignità lavorativa e umana, il rispetto, il garbo, l’amore per l’essere umano. Un esempio da seguire, un orgoglio tutto italiano. Frequenti i richiami alla filosofia, quella filosofia che innalza l’uomo e lo rende degno di essere tale. Unica pecca - forse fin troppo breve, sarebbe stato bello continuare la lettura!

L'ho scoperto per la prima volta grazie alla newsletter di James Clear, pubblicata ogni giovedì (l'ultima il 7 settembre 2023). Intrigato dalla citazione, ho preso il libro e, ora che l'ho finito, desidero condividere le mie sensazioni. Chi è Brunello Cucinelli? Fondatore e gestore dell'omonima azienda da quasi quattro decenni, il suo marchio di moda italiano è celebre per la produzione di capi in cachemire tra i più pregiati al mondo. Tuttavia, è la sua filosofia aziendale a renderlo davvero interessante.
Nel libro, Cucinelli racconta la sua vita, partendo da umili origini, e descrive vari incontri significativi. L'ottimismo che trasmette verso la vita mi ha infuso molta speranza. Particolarmente affascinante è come riesce a conciliare filosofia e persino fede religiosa con la sua attività imprenditoriale, navigando tra la modernità e il progresso. (Maimonide sarebbe felice).
Il tema centrale del suo libro è la necessità di attenersi ai valori: l'umanesimo e la filosofia come strada da percorrere. Appassionato lettore dei classici, Cucinelli è un leader modesto che ha costruito un'azienda di successo, contribuendo a rendere eccezionale la sua città natale, Solomeo, una frazione del comune di Corciano nella provincia di Perugia.
La lettura è stata stimolante, e abbiamo bisogno di più imprenditori come lui. Non tutti sono noti, ma Cucinelli è un esempio luminoso di come sia possibile costruire e espandere un'azienda rimanendo umani. In Italia, a causa della regolamentazione, è una sfida ardua, ma lui si erge come faro tra gli imprenditori italiani. Bello, ho veramente imparato tanto ed ha acceso un’ispirazione positiva in me. Scritto un po’ troppo come da un sarcedote.
John Ruskin quando dice: "Con il comprendere l'arte della vita si troverà alla fine che tutte le cose belle sono anche necessarie"
Cuccinelli: Il mio sogno, chi avrà avuto la pazienza di leggere questo libro lo avrà capito, è quello di combinare insieme la bellezza del passato con la bellezza del futuro. Forse non è facile, ma che non si tratti di utopia lo dimostrano gli anni recenti di Solomeo: coniugare impresa e famiglia, innovazione e tradi-zione, profitto e dono, denaro e umanità.
Se sia sentimento piuttosto che ragionamento non so, però vorrei che la sua forza risiedesse nel cuore piuttosto che nella mente, perché mi piace di più, e perché il cuore ha sempre più forza della mente. Il sentimento riesce ad ottenere risultati che la matematica ti dimostrerebbe impossibili.

Brunello Cucinelli in questo libro trasmette al lettore quanto sia vitale abbracciare la bellezza nella vita di tutti i giorni,i sapienti dell'antichità possono aiutarci in questo se ascoltati. Il capitalismo umanistico,da lui appunto ideato, è una sorprendente maniera di accudire il mondo,in tutte le sue sfaccettature,perché solo dando dignità al lavoratore e al creato possiamo guardare al futuro con più speranza.

Il libro di Cucinelli potrebbe sembrare una bibliografia scritta in fretta e furia giusto per autoincensarsi del fatto e disfatto. Tutt'altro, l'imprenditore mostra la sua visione del mondo, le sue storie, il suo rapporto con la filosofia che lo legittimano in primis come uomo e poi come grande rappresentante del Made in Italy.
Strettamente consigliato a chi pensa che debbano esistere solo squali nel mondo dell'alta imprenditoria.

L’inizio e la fine del libro sono molto belli, in mezzo è un po�� un libro autocelebrativo, punteggiato da citazioni banali e concetti conosciuti a chiunque abbia una cultura appena sopra la media. Il progetto di Solomeo è molto interessante e di sicuro può ispirare imprenditori con buone intenzioni.

Non è, come sembra, la biografia di un imprenditore ma un romanzo storico e un saggio sull'etica. Da regalare a ogni datore di lavoro, invitandolo a mettere in pratica almeno uno degli stimoli che leggerà.

Cucinelli ha creato e diffuso il modello del capitalismo umano e di un’azienda che dia dignità all’essere umano in quanto tale.
Questo libro raccoglie molta della sua cultura, scommetterei che ci sarebbe tanto altro da scoprire, ed è un viaggio non solo in diversi pensieri filosofici, ma anche in altri continenti.
Pagine che chiunque dovrebbe leggere, da imprenditore, professionista, dipendente o essere umano che vive in un mondo in cui è più diffuso il capitalismo rispetto al capitalismo umano.
Dopo aver visitato Solomeo questo libro mi ha permesso di creare nella mia mente il percorso di rinascita del borgo che ora è un luogo di pace e serenità.
Un libro che consiglio a chiunque immagini un mondo migliore!
