As the only girl born in the four generations of the Mo family – a prestigious and powerful family in Hua Xia – Mo Liu Gui has been adored since the day she was born. She is gorgeous, naive and intelligent. Behind her is the noble Mo family and by her side are countless excellent pursuers. Whether in career or relationships, she’s the heaven born life winner.
It’s a pity that Mo Di is not Mo Liu Gui but a tragic contrast of what one would call life winner.
He has been disliked by everyone in the Mo family since the day he was born. When he left the incubator, the whole family was competing for his sister but left him in the hospital corridor overnight. He never took a sip of his mother’s milk because it was just enough to feed one child. He has not been held by his father once because his father was extremely disgusted with the culprit who robbed his darling of nutrition in their mother’s womb. His five brothers never looked him in the eye. When he was six years old, they even ganged up to beat him till he had a fractured right leg which almost left him permanently disabled, all because he scored first place in his grade while his sister scored third, making Mo Liu Gui sad to the point of crying.
Countless scolding, neglect, double standard treatment, and even abuse in the name education have been habitually done to Mo Di. Finally one day, the Mo Di who has been soft and obedient for eighteen years turned black.
He was no longer a soft and sensible man but had become gloomy and aggressive. He ran away from home, started his own company and made new friends. Everything is booming but when his company was about to go public, he was found by the Mo family. During a struggle with Mo Liu Gui who was asking him to come home, she fell and almost had a miscarriage. This incited everyone’s anger and they forced him into a mental hospital.
The first life Mo Di (MC) and Mu Tian Heng (ML) were the main couple of a LGBTQ book. They had their HE. Of course they were homophobes that left bad reviews which triggered some sort of blackhole.
The second life Mo Liu Gui was one of the homophobes. She transmigrated into the book and decided to change the plotline. As a transmigrator, she had a system that allowed her to captivate everyone around her. However, the MC and ML were immune to it. Unfortunately, because of her interference, the plotline indeed changed in regard of both MC and ML.
The third life MC was reborn. He found out that his entire life was merely a story in a book. But, his knowledge was limited to only the second life. He decided to change his life and the moment he met with ML, both of them managed to convert the third life's plotline to a HE.
And that basically the rough outline of the story. If you're interested in the face-slapping moment, then proceed to read the book. It's fully translated and you can search for it on NU.
Always here for any danmei that has a ton of face slapping in it (probably my favorite theme when it comes to Chinese novels). One thing that I appreciated about RCFN is that even though Mo Di was finally given the opportunity to reverse his second life (after a past life that was depressing, dark and tortured af), it wasn't completely smooth sailing. He still had obstacle he had to topple due to the halo that surrounded the "MC"—Mo Liu Gui—who is the whitest of all white lotuses.
I also liked that the story didn't just revolve around Mo Di and his romance with Mu Tian Heng and them bringing down all their enemies. There was a recurring arc of Mo Di building his video game company and his school life that gives a glimpse as to who he is and how he works without his lover. He also seriously has the sweetest friends and it's difficult not to cheer for Mo Di and his gang's success. I enjoyed how the author ties all the past and present lives together, some twists and revelations (especially the ones in the latter part of the novel) were really surprising and that impressed me. I wouldn't complain if the author decides to expand the story and continue off with what happened at the end (or even just give them to us as extras), 126 chapters never felt so short before...
First of all, for those who are giving low grade because the antagonists behave like brainless idiots, well that is something that indicates sypnosis and from the first chapter the MC emphasizes that he does not understand the way his family acts which is too strange. They’re not stupid just because.
from the beginning the author suggests that the halo of the protagonist is affecting people and that it is not acting so freely. so at the end of the book, although a little hasty and almost like a deus ex machina, explains who is the protagonist and how it can affect people who comes into contact with her, as well because he hates Mo Di
This is a light novel where past life has weight as the story progresses, romance is sweet and everyone gets their good dose of slaps. From my point of view, there is also a criticism of the homophobic thinking that exists in China (Hua Xia is just another name for China)
It must be borne in mind that all the hatred of Mo Di’s sister is born from the fact, not only that he is gay, but also that in his original world people accept a book where the protagonist is gay and even make a series about him
The final explanations cut off the narrative, a good writing does not need the author to explain why and perhaps, although it does not become a Gary Stue, if it lacked a little more drama but taking into account the past suffering of MC and ML, they deserved that things went well for them.
I was left a very confused review, if you still got here, thanks! :)
This is the story of Mo Di. He had an awful life and died a miserable death only to find out that he's actually just a cannon fodder on a book.
After dying, he woke up and he got reincarnated back when he was just 17. He vowed to get revenge to all the people who have hurt him in his previous life.
This is a typical revenge plot. Mo Di's main enemy is actually his twin sister. This sister of hers is the main protagonist of the book. Her life is designed to be loved by everyone and Mo Di is her stepping stone.
There are lots of face slappings and reversals here that are quite entertaining and satisfying to read. The premise though that everyone is brain dead for Mo Di's sister is lame. Lol.😅
The plot is okay. A few secondary characters are decent. The romance is a bit weird for me. By the way, just a heads up that the main couple has an 11 year age gap in case you're not into that. I'm still glad that they ended up together though.
Rating: 4/5- I was close to having an aneurism with every passing chapter but I ended up making it through to the end.
With my blood pressure raising uncontrollably I managed to see the dumb head villains of this novel get their retribution which was really not even a tenth of what they deserved!
So I’m a huge fan of dog blood, melodramatic face-slapping novels. I consider them my guilty pleasures and I must say that this novel most certainly has quite a lot of face slapping that I enjoyed.
What the MC went through really broke my heart and I truly felt uncomfortable. I know that there really are people with unbiased dislike and inhumanity but the levels of child and human abuse and neglect described in this novel is quite nauseating.
There are definitely some weak points in this novel but if read for fun, I think it’s a decent book. I truly despised the 2D villains with their vile and disgusting behaviour. They nearly killed my brain cells with their behaviour. The white lotus was honestly the most sickening of the lot. And the blatant victimisation was just something I could never understand?
Overall I like the couple and I really liked the MC. I wish he could have been written to be more darker and manipulative as that would have been more in line with his character after being so deeply abused. However he was a good character.
The ML was awesome, really liked him. And of course the side characters were great.
I enjoyed this book. It was satisfying enough for me.
Don’t overthink the villain logic as it’s kinda explained towards the end- albeit not in the most satisfactory manner, but it does explain at least something.
I read one by mistake thinking it was a minor but a major spoiler. Even though the plot twist was already known to me I still read it entirely and enjoyed every moment.
I loved all the characters and the drama; the Mo and Qui families against Mu Tian Heng were incredible. I loved that the game aspect was described and depicted well in the book, it was not like they just randomly won a competition after making a vaguely described game. There were many interesting aspects of Mo Di's game, his work, his college and his love life. I absolutely enjoyed the revenge.
It is a slow burn and seeing the Mo family destroyed bit by bit was satisfying. It was through this book that I found the age gap justifiable (in this book). The plot follows Mo's college and a bit of high school, and Mu Tian Heng could not be very young considering all his capital and connections.
There were minor misunderstandings between the couple and that was surprising, even the smallest misunderstandings get resolved. The ML is a green flag, he does not force Mo Di into anything. My eyes were teary after reading about the black urn, they are literally soulmates. I recommend this book, it will be slow but very satisfying.
4.5 rounded up to 5
But I believe if the plot twist was not revealed by my foolish actions it would definitely be a 5. This book is a SLOW BURN in the aspects of revenge, but trust me all of them will PAY. I loved the ending. It was bitter-sweet but mostly very sweet and I really want a 2nd book, you can't just stop there at least give us some extra chapters!!!!!
I really liked this book, I had so much fun reading this, lots of face slapping. Our MC, Mo Di's born in a family that abuses him and treats him like trash, when he's 25 years old he dies and discovers that the world he lives in is in reality a book and he's a cannon fodder/villain in the book whose purpose is to make his sister, who's the heroine in this book, have a perfect life. Surprisingly Mo Di's reborn in the past and this time he's determined to get out of under his family and have a good life and make his sister and his family pay for what they did to him in the past. Luckily he meets Mu Tian Heng, our ML, who feels that everything that's happening to the MC is unfair and decides to help him.
Mo Di and Mu Tian Heng's relationship is so cute, but beware there's an age gap, Mu Tian Heng is 11 years older than Mo Di and when they meet Mo Di's 17 yo, even though things only happen between them when Mo Di's is 18.
I think Mo Di's revenge was well done and liked that he didn't get lost is his rage and anger only wanting revenge but decided that he deserves to have good things in life, like love, friendship, etc.
One thing that I really liked in this book's that the author explains why Mo Di got the chance to be reborn and change things, among other things, like why most of the bad guys where so brainless when it came to Mo Di's sister and why they did irrational things and acted irrational.
It’s was long and a lot of unnecessary chapters. The MC suffering and the torture that he was put through is unforgivable so you do want to see his revenge. The characters that supposed to be evil are just too dumb. Anyway it was a time killer and doesn’t require much thinking.
I’m not sure if it’s translation but the ML constantly referring to MC as “little one” feels strange and off to me. Only think kept me going was the fact that MC is actually older mentally due to remembering his previous life. The novel ending was also all over the place with the way things are clarified.
Honestly I’m going to forget I read this novel unless someone gives me the specific of what happened here.
This was a very simple, satisfying face slapping novel. The author loves explaining the back story and previous time lines. I do like how the main character doesn't just blindly get revenge on people who wronged him in a previous timeline. Most of the people have shown their malicious intent before he attacked. The ending was a very nice opened ending, and as one of the commenters said, it is satisfying to know they can have something not constrained by any predestined story.
Wow Most distorted three views ever. Like these people are delulu at it's finest. Brain dead fans were never so litteral. I been loving plots that are all about "the dark side" of novel's MCs with their golden fingers. I hate humans a bit more. I hate what they did to Mo Di and how money and power allowed it. As usual underage-ish "romance" is weird, but they were cute or whatever. I think I missed sum with my second leads? Like? Plot twist c122... Jaw dropping! Ending extra cute
Really really mid. It's not super bad or anything, but not outstanding in any way. Rebirthslop so to say. Mo Di was fine as a protagonist. It was nice watching him have good experiences for the first time and find joy and friends and love. Mu Tian Heng though. Most boring LI ever. He is soooo perfecr and rich and handsome and devoted and adoring and solves all of Mo Di's problems for him with no conflict whatsoever. Boring as hell.
This reads like bad fanfic 💀 I’ve probably (definitely) read better fanfic than this. But ok, I still finished it, so… if you like Mary-Sue’s/Gary-Stu’s, dogblood, face-slapping, white lotus gets their comeuppance, absolutely zero realism (like you need to suspend every and all disbelief)… I guess you could read this?????
This has so much unnecessary drama and dog blood but hey I live by gobbling this sht up. I might write a more detailed review later as I have no time rn but there are plenty of other reviews so I don't think it's necessary. Anyways I throughly enjoyed my time with this, it was so bad but that the same time so good (and addicting as hell, I finished it in 2-3 days lol).
It's a cliche transmigration book with a strong trust between the mc and ml so there will be no problems in the relationship. It's a simple book i wouldn't say it's great but i wouldn't say it's bad either. Enjoy reading 💜
First I gotta admit that I skimmed reading most of the books. And even I did that I still get almost every bit of the plot. Although I like the face-slapping novel but somehow I feel like Chinese novels often includes redundant scene and this is not exception. 2.5/5 for me
I liked this a lot , especially becouse there was some Friendship and Relationship building, not just revenge Plot. The coclusion was a bit convoluted and there where like three point the Happy Ending could have ended but still kept going.
holy crap this story was something. can't say to much because it would spoil it but overall I loved every moment. it took a while to read but I never lost the interest for it. the characters are good, the antagonist horrible people but it's also good face slapping in this story.
Uffff muchos momentos que me pusieron incomoda, me enoje con como lidearon con muchas de las sub tramas pero eh no voy a decir que fue terrible pero sin duda veo muchas cosas que podrian ser mejor
I love it. Oh my god, and the ending is so good, I’m just sitting and crying here. I hope they will have one more and even more good life’s together.
Here we have a good plot with drama, action, business and time progression. The plot is quite logical and the more you read, the closer it to the end, the more bombs are there from author. So good. Very enjoyable and light read for me personally. I will read it again, for sure.
The characters are good. I love the MC and ML. And supporting characters also nice and interesting.
Sometimes, there were a moments I was so worried for how it will be, but it never disappointed me. That’s also the point I love it for.
