But this hunt soon becomes painfully personal. Fighting through the secrets and lies swirling all around, Bridget fears her unknown enemy has set their sights on her family and friends. Facing off against her formidable foe yet, can Bridget find a way to protect the people she loves most?
Or will this case demand a sacrifice that will tear her world apart? Readers can't get enough of the Phantoms ★★★★★ Wow, the suspense and action kept building and never got boring. Really exciting, young adult or old adult read. A new favorite author! ★★★★★ The series keeps getting better! I love how Bridget is maturing as she grows in to her ability, and the hint of romance. I can't wait for the next one! ★★★★★ She has such heart and so much compassion that she seems like a real person. If you are a lover of things paranormal, don't miss this series!
This series is fantastic and I thought Phantom Scars was amped up in the freaky ghost department! All the books have kept me on edge, but never have I been more scared for Bridget and her family then with this book. So much good happens too! We find out more about Kale and Bridget finally takes more control of her life. These books have so much heart and emotion and I can't wait to continue on to the next book!
Bridget is still investigating ghosts and trying to help them. But there are 'sensitives' who are not so altruistic and want to use spirits for their own gain. Apparently the penultimate story in this excellent series, we see Bridget learn and mature, while still being a typical teenager. Kale is here, and Michael and Emily and Sal. Thrilling again. Wonderful
I have enjoyed this series. I feel invested in Bridget's life. She has so much to deal with. She's trying to be a normal teen while also dealing with the supernatural world. There are so many changes in her world. I was shocked by the behavior of one of the characters. I can't wait to see how the series ends!
I beyond adore this series. This book is a fantastic addition and things are ramped up in the spirit department. Bridget is a champ and she stays true to self while trying to keep safe as all her loved ones, both corporeal and non-corporeal would like her to do. She continues to struggle to maintain balance between being a sensitive and being a normal teenagers - my heart aches for her in so many instances! But this books sees Bridget finally catch a break of sorts. I love this series and will be opening up book 5 post-haste!!!!
If it wasn’t for the fact that the first book got me into this series the starting chapters of these other series would have had me tbr them for a while
The plot line was crazy and I’m glad the cats out of the bag and the mom finally knows. I’m curious how the next book will layout with people now in the know.
This books drama went fast and I sort of wish that there was more that the antagonist could have faced for all the issues she caused. We got to know more about kale which was nice and more about the organization Marcus is a part of; as well as the speakers. While informational this book was the toughest read, I feel like I need a break from the series but only have one book left in it. I do wonder will Bridget desperation be too much and will she fall into that group. What’s to come from the speakers?
As for miss Nina I was questioning her integrity since she was introduced in the last book. While she came off callous and cold I don’t the character was developed enough or ever indicated this need for power. But i suppose it makes sense that after her ordeal she would feel helpless.
In regards to the ending they mentioned the serial killer for a hot minute through out the book I have a strong feeling he may place a part in the next book. Stronger feeling that it will be as a ghost.
As in the usual Jessica Hawke style, we get a wonderfully written ghost whisperer story about Bridget who heads straight into another dangerous battle with evil ghosts and the evil designs of a powerful ‘sensitive’ also known as one who sees and speaks with ghosts. Bridget’s fight this time is for her guardian angel, Kale, who is in the throes of torture by the evil Christine. It’s with Bridget’s help that Kale survives but not without having to relive his brutal death centuries ago with Bridget witnessing it. I love how this experience brought Kale and Bridget closer. The scenes Ms Hawke painted were very vivid. Her characters were well developed and I could see myself acquainted with a few of them. I believe this story would be popular with not only the YA crowd but older folks as well. If you are familiar with and liked watching the TV program Ghost Whisperer as I did then you will be sure to love this series.
I'm obsessed with Jessica Hawke's Phantoms series. Book 4 is intense. So much happened, including something I've been wanting to happen since book 1. Things are changing in Bridget's world, almost faster than she can keep up. I had feelings about a couple of the characters from previous books but figured I was wrong when things went a different way. As we're getting ready for the final book in the series, people are showing their true colors. I thought my heart would break at one point. I can only imagine what is coming and I can't wait!
I just can’t put down this series. I have read many books across different genres and I have really enjoyed the depth of characters while also staying true to the YA genre & audience. The sarcastic comebacks and wit between characters is right on the mark.
I’ve binged the entire series in 4 days. The author is amazing and always gets a couple of tears out of me. If I could go over and re read these for the first time, I totally would.
This story is so close to being the end I am so not ready for this to end. Bridget is such a strong character I have loved watching Hong het grow from the beginning
