She won't risk reliving the past.

He won't stop trying to remember his.

Kaylee lives a safe life, and that's the way she likes it. The past and its danger should stay buried where it can't trap her. As soon as she hands off her brother's package to the right person, things can go back to normal.
If she manages to live that long.

Stuart's mind hasn't been right since he was captured by the enemy. He won't let revenge go, not when the betrayal cost him so much. Just as soon as he can remember what happened--and Kaylee's part in it--he'll be free.

When the threat reaches Kaylee's doorstep, Stuart is her only hope of staying alive--once they discover they can trust each other. Friends show their true colors, secrets are revealed and the town goes all-in to save one of their own from the biggest threat they've faced yet.

Really liked the two main characters in Expired Hero. What's not to love about a book loving heroine?

The story line got rather twisted and borderline unrealistic toward the end. Overall, a good suspense novel and I'll continue with the series.

I’m enjoying the stories in this series but whoever was in charge of editing has failed terribly. The names are mixed up at least twice. At one point Stuart is referred to as Patrick. Another has Kaylee as Kayla. And in the next book, which I am reading now, Kaylee is called Keeley. The stories are great but it’s frustrating that the editing is so poor.

I like this series and this book continues with quality storytelling. IMHO the author has some trouble with continuity within the story, in that I find it hard to know if we've transitioned to the next moment, day, week or month, but that doesn't take much away from the building suspense. Stuart made a huge jump in his faith with no explanation as to how his heart and mind changed, which was surprising. Nonstop action, sweet romance, Last Chance characters included in the action and a satisfying ending. Looking forward to the next book!

AMAZING!!!!!

This author has a very vivid imagination. This book was a hard read for me. I think it may have been because there was so much "busyness" in the story that it was hard for me to get into the rhythm of of the story. It might not happen like that for anyone else; that's just my opinion. But I did enjoy the book and I look forward to the rest of the books in this series.

WOW!!! What an adventure!

WOW, wow, WOW!! This book was intense and amazing and almost impossible to put down!! Definitely one of the best romantic/suspense books I've read in a long time! Would recommend that you read the previous books in the series so you understand the characters better (especially the end!!), but it could also be read as a stand alone

Very clipped and choppy writing. It’s very difficult to follow the dialogue in the story. The premise of the story is great and the protagonist is well-characterized but the writing is very disorganized and appears disjointed with incomplete sentence structure. I just couldn’t follow the storyline, as the entire dialogue was poorly written and nearly impossible to follow.

Wow. This was not the story I was expecting but it was far above and beyond. Sooo much. Former “agents” and family ties and suspense and intrigue and danger and enemies and wow. This was an intense book. This was a different take on the brother’s best friend trope. Protector. Redemption. I can’t wait to see where this series takes us next.

A Roller Coaster Ride

Be prepared for non stop action and suspense as Lisa Phillips takes you on a wild ride of action and suspense. I loved reading it. I couldn't wait to read what happened next, but I was sad when I came to the end of the book.

Good book

As always, Lisa Phillips come through again. Keeping you in suspense, with a little romance. Good clean Christian writing without the language, sex, and any gruesome details.

Wow!

Each book keeps getting better and better. This is a great series. I love all the characters. They are so real. Flawed, human but trying to be all God wants them to be. I can't wait to read the next book!

“There were two people in the diner with the potential to kill him.”

Expired Hero is totally awesome! From the fantastic first line to the awesome cliffhanger, this story captures your attention and leaves you wanting to read more. I think this is the best book in the series so far.

Too dark for me

This book has wonderful characters and I love the Christian message sprinkled throughout the book. But for me some of it was too dark and it was just too long and twisty.

Complicated Storyline

This 4th book is fast paced and full of surprises, yet it leaves many questions unanswered. Lots of bloodshed and "bad" guys were a bit too much, and references to prayer too scarce.

#4 of the series is the best so far

The first 2 were ok enough to want to see what would happen next. This one, though far fetched at times was an exciting and intriguing mystery with many surprising turns!

Kaylee just wants to live a quiet, unassuming life in Last Chance. Kaylee recognizes PTSD in Stuart and helps in different situations. Her brother has thrown her into a dangerous situation. She and Stuart must work together to find answers and safety.

The best of the series so far. Excellent twists and action. Phillips does a great job developing the characters through the series and showing the messy part of life. This is an exciting standalone, but even richer if you are able to read the whole series.

Action packed with lots of character detail. Kaylee has something that a lot of people want to get their hands on. Stuart is trying to look out for Kaylee. Brad was his special Op's partner and he's Kaylee's brother.
This one will keep you turning the pages!

Wonderful series with characters you want on your side, if for no other reason than to keep their nemesis looking at them and not you.
