Decent story

I felt like there was no purpose to this book. There was no real conflict and several things were brought up but then swept under the rug or addressed very quickly and then glossed over, like Ranger's anger issues or lexi?'s mom being human. There's also the added threat of the grandfather but it didn't really address anything beyond that. A bit of a disappointing end to a great series.

What did I just read? No really… can someone tell me what happened because I know events took place but they all just happened so half-hazardly that I literally couldn’t tell you but two things that happened this book. And it wasn’t like there wasn’t a story like some RHs do sometimes… this had a story but I guess it was truly that forgettable. Yikes. I’m sorry.

Don't read this if you don't want to know spoilers.

I am extremely disappointed with this book. There was nothing happening. One teeny tiny conflict was added into the book (which I felt was more fake than anything else) and then one of the main side characters goes against the pack and picks up the 'enemy chic' for the prom, even though he knew that she had hurt the girl he was interested in. And nothing was resolved. Ada cried and that was it.

I actually thought that the grandfather would make a play for Lexie - all the signs were pointing towards a dramatic experience: he was evil, her aunt send her a stone that would connect her to the aunt in case she needed protection, her father didn't want to use too much of his own powers so that the grandfather wouldn't track him to Lexie....it was all set up beautifully and yet nothing happened. No visits from the grandfather. No drama from the aunt. No issues with the father and no one discovered why Lexie's mum suddenly turned human.

The whole book was such a waste of time - nothing happened...great they had sex. Whop-de-do. I had expected some kind of epiphany or dramatic explosion...something....but nope. Nothing was explained or explored or added to the dimension.

Oh and the blurb for the book mentioned if she could cure the curse of the wolves...wouldn't have a clue. The topic was never even discussed or came up with any of Lexie's mates.

Crap

I have no idea what has happened to this series but this book was a load of rubbish! The entire book was about there feelings and the main caracter has turned into an annoying person. I kept waiting for action to kick in but nothing happend. I will not be continuing this series

Disappointing

I loved the first two books in this series, but this one was a let down for me
Nothing happened! All of the action completely died out and the story lost all momentum
It was also really poorly edited with sentences regularly switching from past tense to presemt or vice verse throughout
There were many misspelled or just completely wrong words, and sentence structure was very confusing
I don’t know what happened but it really was a very flat and weak ending to what started as a great series.

Okay so the grammar was better in this book.

And you would think that that would fix the four stars right? Well actually I have one small complaint, nothing too big but I will mark this as a spoiler.

Each of the guys got one-on-one time with her. Lexi. However I find that Mavericks time with her is just assumed. Because there was no scene. We didn't get to read about it. We just have to assume that's what happened. I kind of feel cheated.

Now that being said, I absolutely love this series. And I'm going to read the next part of the series, which is the spin-off full moon, and I'm sure I will enjoy it.

I just really wish that Maverick had his scene in the book with her. That one-on-one time that we all wanted. We didn't get to see it. Or read it lol.

***I laughed, I cried***
I was on edged expecting the Lexi and her men to be in some kind of danger again after what they went through book 2 but I was honestly surprised that no danger came and oh I was like thank the goddess, they don't need any more heart breaks they've all been through so much. The finally of this series is not explosive like book 2 was but it is sublime and heart achingly beautiful. The relationship between Lexi and her men grows and evolved. Also Lexi has to get to know her Angel dad who can read all their minds. Thank you Belle for trusting me to be one of your ARC readers and I promised to do my best to give my honest opinion of all the books that you trust me with.

4 stars for Rising Sun by Belle Harper this is the third and finale book in the New Moon series. Ok so I enjoyed the ending and how everything played out. I will say I was left with questions and I do not like that. I felt like there was so much more I wanted. With that in mind I did enjoy everything that happened. We continue the journey with Lexi and her men. We also learn more about Lexi and her dad. This group/ harem will do anything for each other, and I like that is a book. They are family. I just felt like I wanted more. It is still worth reading .

In this book we still don’t get any expel about the scars of fallen or how her powers work/ how she came to be. Why nobody found her before if her smell is so impossible to miss for wolves that a magic was needed to disguise it. And why is she flirting whit the guy that wears purple?

The rest of the book focuses more on her best friend that has a sort of love triangle with three other wolves (one from a different pack) and her sister got married.

In the end they did some underaged drinking and where light weights. This book was easy to read, but more because it did not contain any new info than that it was good.

The serie new moon started really strong but went down hill. A lot a good opportunities where mist in de story. I would not recommend this book.

It's not a bad book by any means I'm also not a huge RH reader. I listen to this as an audiobook and it was good and just interesting enough for me to listen to it while I went about my daily routine or did cleaning or cooking. Didn't really take a lot of mental focus or energy. If you're looking for something extreme in the world building and character development in all of that this is not the book/series for you. The whole series is just very low key background vibes which you need sometimes.

Hmmm

Can't say I'm not a bit disappointed, nothing much happens in book 3. Almost like a make your own ending sort of thing. Her powers are not delved into, we didn't even get her blood results... Does she turn vampires human or not? What are Lexis other powers? How long will she live? Does she get an angel mate? Can she have shifter babies?

It was different to see how she bonded with her mates but mehhh ... I was more interested in the supernatural side. So no mating bites just words. A different take on shifters and vampire mating but okay went with it. It just left an empty feeling that made the series more human than supernatural.

The book could also do with a re-edit. The salad wrap thing was over done, with her eating so much I was almost sure her shifter side would make an appearance. Alas no...

Not sure what happened with this book but I felt it really ran out of steam. Some interesting storylines that started and ended up going no where. Editing was a bit all over the place with having to guess what the actual word should been there in place of the incorrect word (like the word sleeping instead if stilling?). The point of views also changed mid character chapter which was also confusing. A disappointing end to what started as an interesting series.

Was expecting more

I am in love with the first two books in the series, but this one let me down. I was expecting something to happen, anything to happen, but nothing did. Maybe the book was rushed and it wasn’t planned out properly.

There is no plot, not build up to anything. I was expecting more with Tobias and Lexy, or maybe her grandad finding out about her and wanting her.

I kinda think maybe this book was more to do with introducing the spin off series coming out with Ada and Aunt Cate. I am disappointed and probably won’t read this series again because of how disappointing this book is.

I still plan on reading the spin off series.

I loved the first two books, this one though I feel added nothing to the series. There was no conflict (aside from petty jealousy) there was a teeny bit of steam with everyone but Maverick. (Aside from one scene) she had one on one with each of them and it showed you an another side of each one of the guys, so why didn't we get more of that from Maverick when it was just them no Galen?
I think this book was supposed to be the "happy ever after", but it just didn't make sense. Book two was full of chaos and drama, so much lead up to future conflict but nothing happened in this book.
The build up for her being this big important supernatural who has this death angel grandpa and super strong dad and her blood could cure vampirism, was too big since Nothing came of any of those points.
That said, I loved their relationship. I loved the growth of all the guys. But this book was extremely anticlimactic.

I'm going to read the other characters books because I really enjoyed them especially Ada and her guys.

What an absolute shit book and series. The entire plot and storyline suck, and there is very limited smut. Even though the potential is there with a MM relationship and a reverse harem setup. It’s like the author meant to write a YA book but forgot and still mentioned cocks and clits. The summary of the story reads “Lexi has discovered her new powers and with them comes a great deal of responsibility. With the help of her father, Tobias, and all the wolf packs, can Lexi help heal the curse that has been placed on the shifters? Or does her power only go so far?” None of that happened. The whole book was just a pointlessly complex explanation of what they all do day to day and how they talk endlessly about their emotions.
Lexi’s powers are discussed again after the initial conversation with her dad about them and we don’t really get into any of her angel heritage either. It’s entirely glossed over.
Do yourself a favor and don’t bother reading this book. I wasted my time so you don’t have to. Ugh.

Yikes

This book was just fluff, hinted-at plot lines and loose ends! There was so much that was never explained from Galen’s past to Lexi’s powers. We never really learn too much regarding her mother or father. We don’t know what is going on with her newest ability or her super-quick healing. The last 20% of the story is rushed. Oh, and no overarching plot line at all. It just jumps from event to event.
Galen’s 1 on 1 scene felt rushed and we never even got Mav’s 1 on 1 scene.
Overall, this was a very disappointing ending and I honestly could have done without it since I felt it just didn’t go much of anywhere. I loved the first book and the second was good too, but this one just felt forced and rushed.

So I really enjoyed books 1 and 2 of this series. I thought they were well paced, had great back and forth with the characters, had amazing side characters that will set up for a great shared world amongst the ladies and their men. Book 3 for me was great but then kinda stalled and more than half of it felt like an epilogue, if that makes sense? I wished some of the things worked out in the middle to end of the book was done before the real plot was finished. The story climaxed very early and then there wasn’t plot but just relationship building and finally doing the deed, like it was an after thought. Don’t get me wrong I did like it but it felt off in the order and it didnt hold my attention as well as the other two. I like a good mix of sexy scenes, relationship building, and story/driving plot and this one wasn’t balanced in my opinion.

I did like how things progressed with Lexi and her guys (except the barely mentioned of one of the guys sealing the deal with her, he being one of my favs so I was like NOOOOO). I loved her bff and her guy problems haha (cannot wait to get back to her series - I accidentally started hers first). The alpha grew on me, I hated him in the previous books but he did redeem himself somewhat in this one. I am intrigued by Lexi’s family member, we didn't get to truly explore things with him and her powers, not sure if there will be mentions in the next books to help bring that to a close. Overall this was a solid 4 stars to me, not my favorite of the trilogy but it was good and I liked there is an open ending that definitely will have some fun times with all the tensions and reconciliation some of the guys have to do haha.

Narration was done well again, I enjoy these 2 narrators and have a lot of their audiobooks already in my library. They did a great job with dealing with Ranger’s anger problems, the naivety with some of the characters as they grew up and became more adults, the back and forth between learning what was going on with Lexi’s blood and the confusion, anger, hurt, etc. with finding out what really happened to her parents. And oh my goodness I couldnt stop laughing and smiling with Josh and his adoption and how the guys all saw him like a bother. I emotions filled with Lexi coming to terms who her family is (the true ones not by blood) juxtaposed with Raff’s horrible upbringing and cruelty he endured. Done really well ❤️

Where to start?

I am sad to report that I have the same opinions of this book as most who have reviewed it. There's just a lot of nothing. The storyline has no highs or lows. Let's start with the good.

All four boys have really defined personalities and Ranger even had me laughing out loud a couple of times! I liked that they all seemed like real boys. The relationship between Lexi and her foster dads was nice and I was glad to see that kind of come full circle with her being told, again, that she was their girl and she would be considered theirs with or without paperwork. Another relationship that I was happy to see and feel is so important in all YA books was a good female friendship. We often see females at each other throats and so seeing a healthy friendship among girls is so important. I loved our sweet Ada!

Now the not so good.

There's no story. Nothing. At first I thought maybe this is the "happily ever after" book where we see how life goes after the Blood Moon fight, and while yes you can consider that as the basis for this book and may even like that. I would have, had there not been 10 other storylines that got thrown in and no real problem or solution came of them. Lexi and her biological father, Tobias, bland, dull and extremely emotionless storyline. Disappointing. Lexi and Olivia, no real solution nor do we ever find out what came of Olivia's outburst at Lexi's prom/mating party. Noah, Saint, Ada, Nash, Clare, Ada's sister, Lexi's Aunt, all characters that are tied to our main character and her storyline, but they have no storyline. It made no sense. Some the characters were even new and they are mentioned, for almost no reason. Why mention it if they have no real role. The dialog is absolutely horrendous and was so distracting for me when there were large conversations with multiple characters.

Unfortunately, this whole series was a flop for me. Overall the series gets ⭐⭐⭐.

⭐ I finished the book and series.

⭐⭐ It had a unique premise that held my interests.

⭐⭐⭐ I would only recommend to select readers.

I'm going to use the same review to cover all three books in this series.
This last month I was really on a paranormal & shifter RH romance kick - I read a LOT of paranormal earlier in the year and needed a break from it, and was ready to dive back in this month.
That being said, because so many of these books use similar tropes, plot devices, and mythical creatures, it becomes easy to see which books come out on top.

This series ends up lacking for me.
NOW - It was by NO MEANS the worst that I read because trust me... Some of the books I picked up? Abhorrent in both writing and exposition.

The writing and overall story feel juvenile, which is to be expected because the main characters are seniors in high school. I've said this before and I'll say it again from my soapbox; I am NOT a fan of explicit RH stories taking place with high schoolers. I'm well aware that high schoolers are sexually active, but books like these are written for adults to consume, so it's weird to have the main characters be in high school and to read about high school teens engaging in group sex (which is usually what happens in an RH). In almost all cases, I find that the story would achieve the same goals if it was just in a college/university setting. In the case of this series, the FMC being a foster kid plays an initial role in the setup for the series, so it gets a bit of a pass. However, it's still weird to read about high school kids engaging in orgies, and I stand by that.

Anyway, this series achieves what it sets out to do. I'd give this a 2.5/5 because I wasn't a fan and could honestly have gone without reading this.

WTF? ...
This was a stupid series. I don't mean stupid as in it sucked but stupid like the TV show Game of Thrones. What happened????
1st off NOTHING HAPPENS its basically a reverse harem love story with other random stuff thrown in there to make it a trilogy instead of a single book.
Seriously if you cut out all the worthless information that never plays any part in the books and the repetitiveness it could be a single novel (mind you like 500 pages).
2nd what kind of ending is that???? The second book has all these sex scenes and hot moments that make you crave more and more with her other men as you only see it with a few if them. Instead it basically skips over them giving very little information or making their "first time" last 5 sentences. I kid you not. It was less than a paragraph.
3rd there were a lot of loose ends and characters that didn't need to be there. You never hear of Ada's story finishing. There is basically a prologue (chapter 60) that's 6 weeks later and is less than 2 pages. No information given that we didn't already know...
I started as this book is a 2 star whereas the other ones were 3 stars (I kept reading the series) but nope. Editing it to 1 star. So disappointed. Like game of thrones never touching this series again.

Book: Rising Sun
Read By: Ebook and Audio

My feelings:

Is there a book 4? I feel like we are missing out on information….

“I nuzzled my face into her neck, breathing in her scent, my wolf marking her as mine, letting Tobias know that Lex was mine. She was never going to be out of my sight. I would keep her safe.”

Or dose it just end without an ending.

“Maverick called you, didn’t he?” I looked around, my hand going to my chest in mock hurt. I’d promised him I wouldn’t tell her about his freak out. “Pft, no…” Her eyes narrowed on me. “Yes,” I squeaked out. Oh fuck, I could see what Maverick was saying. Girls were scary.”

I didnt mind this book, but I felt there wasn’t any action or ending.

“So, turns out being mad at your mates ends up with a lot of chocolate, a bubble bath in my room back in the main house, and whatever movie I wanted to watch. I picked Frozen. Pretty sure the guys were internally screaming as they plastered on smiles and we watched all together in the movie room.”

Liked it a lot but...

I'm not going to lie, I was a bit disappointed about this third and last book in the series but I still enjoyed reading it a lot!

I feel like there are so many things that were kind of left unaswered or were resolved too quickly:
- Lexi and her guys didn't really talked about what she did in the previous book to save everyone;
- Ranger's issues were put aside and we got a tiny resolution towards the end;
- Raff is my favorite of the guys and he wasn't much present in this book in my opinion;
- We never got real answers about Lexi's mother, and as for her father Tobias, he wasn't much helpful about Lexi's powers;
- Speaking of Lexi's powers: what are they exactly? What is that new power she seemed to have where she opens a connection with the guys and share their feelings? Or did I miss something?

There weren't much action as well. Everything happened in book one and two. There was so much potential when Tobias mentionned his power-hungry father, I was truly waiting for something to happen and when I got to the last chapters of the book I got disappointed...

Overall I really enjoyed this series and will probably read about Ada's.
