3.5 Stars. This was actually a pretty good book. It's a little atypical because the H and h fall for each other and start their relationship right away. No push and pull really, it was refreshing. Things stay interesting because there are still secrets to come out and discovering how to be in a relationship for both. Another unusual aspect is that Willow (the virgin) doesn't just give it up the first second she feels horny. She and Gabriel actually do all the things you might do to lead up to doing IT. So, he seduces her through pleasure pretty slowly and I found that unique.
What didn't work for me was Willow's EXTREME naiveté to sex and her own body. She is 18 years old, not from any kind of repressed community, and she's never touched herself in any way. Never masturbated, never watched porn. Never seen a cock. It's all too much for me to believe and I rolled my eyes at this stuff a lot. I also don't understand why she didn't have any friends in high school. There is nothing wrong or socially inept about her. She was a star athlete. Why doesn't she have any friends, not even a bestie? It's weird, too.
Gabriel really is an interesting character. He has his flaws, especially his belief in his entitlement and privilege. But... the title does say douchebag and well, that's sort of part of the package.
Finally, I would have given this more stars but frankly, the editing is absolute shit. This book needs to be professionally edited and proofread. The number of wrong words, words that don't mean what the author thinks they mean, and too many other issues to list was terribly distracting. This book has been published for 2 years already and the author hasn't fixed this. It's embarrassing for her and frustrating for readers.
As a duet, this is a cliffhanger so I'm moving onto the next book to see how we end up with or HEA.

Grifton Falls is the Ivy League Town home to the Alpha douchebags, a group of guys who exude confidence and have the powerful families to match. When Willow arrives she doesn’t know what to expect but Grifton Falls definitely throws her for a loop. She has many obstacles she never thought about before, especially when she catches the eye of Gabriel, the King of the Alpha Douchebags.
Part 1 reeled me in faster than I ever imagined. I haven’t felt this giddy about a story in a while. The dynamics between Gabriel and Willow built up the angst while giving out bits of sexy time that it was realistic and believable. I love that Willow isn’t just giving into an older attractive male, she is standing by her own thoughts and feelings. I can’t wait to see where part 2 takes us, cause I’m still hanging onto the edge with my heart in my throat finishing part 1!

This was my first book by this author and she just captured me from the start. Gotta love an alpha bad boy that falls hard. He obviously stumbles along the way and has chronic foot in the mouth disease but you can’t help but love him. Some family secrets start to get revealed. Written in both characters POV and a few side ones. If you start reading this and enjoy it STOP.....and by the next book so you don’t have to wait because there is a little cliffhanger at the end.
