I love love love mfm romances, so I was extremely excited for the Angel/Jax/Oakley story. However book three introduced us to chapters written with a bad flow. This book increases that flow exponentially! There were multiple times that I had to stop go back re-read to see if I had completely missed wth was happening only to realize nope, I hadn't! The story just jumped forward like time and the story had happened only we the readers weren't included. It's almost like books 1 & 2 were written by a different author than books 3 & 4. Very disappointed!! I feel like I was ripped off but so we're Angel, Jax and Oakley, because their story could have been EPIC!!!!😠😢 The potential depth and heat this book could have generated was just epically missed! So much potential, so little results. I'm so sad, disappointed and sad again! I'm hoping that the delay in Demons book( I've also been anticipating his book since the beginning) means a rewrite or review to make this last book in this series exactly what it has the potential of being...off the hook awesome! Come on Ashley Lance sink deep and pull the magic you have/had in books 1 & 2!✌️
I was excited to read Angel’s story as he has been a great side character in the other two books I’ve read from this series and I was interested in seeing how his romance with Jax would play out given that they were already in a relationship during the other books.
Truthfully there was no need for the female love interest. Angel and Jax have been on and off for years so they already had a strong bond and this could have worked as a second chance romance, as they are broken up at the start of the book.
But throwing in Oakley, the female love interest, kind of ruined the relationship between Jax and Angel. It felt very insta love and there wasn’t very much development of their three way relationship.
(4.5 stars) Maddox “Angel” Black & Jax Mendez have a “thing” going of sorts. When Jax tries to help a frightened girl named Oakley Anderson, he also asks for his buddies help to find out who she is. Oakley wears her scars on the outside as well and inside. Can these two tough men bring her back to life? This is a MMF biker romance and is the fourth book in the Heaven’s Guardian MC series. I loved the message in this that everyone should just be happy in their skin. A beautiful, touching story of acceptance and being yourself. Don’t worry, there is action too as it is still a biker romance that will heat up your e-reader! MM; MMF; Told in multiple POV
This book dealt with really heavy topics and complex character histories. 260 pages was just too short to cover these things and feel like it was done properly. Combine that with the fact that there were three MCs and a greater series subplot, it was all too much in too little time for me to really connect with the characters at all. Its been a minute since I read the previous books, so I'll likely read the last in the series and give this author another go. I enjoyed the writing, the banter, and the spicytimes over all, so hopefully the next one doesn't have as much going on with just 2 MCs.
There’s a special place in my heart for both MMF and bikers. This was a little rushed for my taste, like I would have enjoyed more throuple time but I still really enjoyed it. 4.5/5⭐️ 2/5🔥🌶
4.25/5 Angel has been a favorite from the beginning! I am glad we got to know Jax on a deeper level. Oakley was a huge surprise, but my favorite FMC out of this series. I loved the MMF!!
I have loved all of this author’s books in her Heaven’s Guardians series but hands down, Betrayed by Beauty is my favorite! This author has a unique way of drawing the reader in as she weaves together a tantalizing story that is emotional, gritty, and raw. My attention was captured right from the first page and I was completely enthralled until the very end. Betrayed by Beauty is an intense read that is full of engaging characters, suspense, and swoon worthy moments.
One of the things that I love about this author’s books is that the characters are always complex and flawed, but they are also remarkable with their inner strength and resilience. Her impeccable character development is evident in this novel. In the previous books, Angel seemed like the sweeter MC Guardian, but that man’s dark and trouble past have an unbreakable hold on him, thus pulling at my heart strings. I adored Jax as he is my favorite type of book boyfriend. He can be tough and commanding, but he also has a gentle soul and is a bit of a bleeding heart. Oakley is one tough cookie and I felt the she really evolved as the book progressed. At times, my heart really broke for her, but I also loved her spunky spirit. The three of them, separate, are all likable characters, but together they are truly something spectacular.
I am not usually a fan of menage stories as I always wonder how the trio can make things work, but the author did a splendid job with Angel, Jax, and Oakley’s relationship - both in the hotness factor but also emotionally. These three were everything I could hope for. True to this author’s other works, Betrayed by Beauty is full of intensity and suspense. The storyline was solid and the plot was well executed. This book is a part of the author’s Heaven’s Guardians MC series, but I do believe this could be read as a standalone. Overall, if you are looking for a well-written, fast paced novel with strong likable characters, steam, and action then you will definitely want to pick up this book!
I’m sad to say that betrayed by beauty is the only book in this series that I have not completed. I knew I wasn’t going to like this book when I saw the plot was MMF, I’m not a huge fan of more that 2 character romance so I only read 7% before I had enough. However I’m really looking forward to reading demons book.
Maddox "Angel" has been my favorite member of the Heaven's Guardian's MC. In the previous books, Angel was always the kind, caring, brother with the beautiful smile. As the saying goes, Beauty is sometimes skin deep. The angelic facade of this strikingly handsome man, hides a broken and battered soul, full of self-loathing and despair. His own "failures" isolate him from his club, his friends, his love and his own heart.
My heart hurt so much for Angel. Ashley's take on his history, confronting his own issues, is both painful and yet wonderful. She hides nothing - pulling us along as he struggles to confront his own internal demons keeping him from loving himself and others. The story is full of twists and turns, push and pull, heat and drama. I was emotionally wrecked in the best way possible at the end.
Ashley's words take you on a journey that shows you what happens behind these character's hearts. It is painful, it is haunting, thrilling, spicy and beautiful. Angel lives up to his name, even when in his darkest moments. The relationship between Jax and Angel broke me at times. I tell you Jax is the true savior in this book - his steadfast love enough to heal even the deepest hurts. The brokenness of the three characters piece together into a beautifully written story of love that was well written and satisfying.
This story is a continuation in the series, so please ensure you've read the previous books to appreciate the story to the fullest. Ashley knows how to tell a story. The main story from the beginning (origins and purpose of the MC) as well as individual character stories. You cannot help but become attached to the characters. I look forward to see where the main plot leads, as these men's purposes change focus from Heaven's Guardians to protectors of their loved ones. I'm especially intrigued how this will play out in the future as each man struggles with his commitments to the MC, his family and his brothers.
While this one definitely put me through a whole bunch of feels, my cheeks ended up hurting from all the cheesy grinning I was doing when it came to Angel, Jax and Oakley. They definitely hurt my heart a time or two, but I really liked all of them ~ separately and together.
So, obviously I loved Angel, Jax and Oakley. Angel is a charmer ~ which he uses as a mask to hide his pain. That pain heaps a whole lot of unnecessary self hatred on his broad shoulders. Jax is simply a sweetheart. This man is protective and when he pulls out his Alpha ~ it’s all over. Oakley has been through hell and then some, but she has an inner strength made of kevlar that has her wanting to live her life on her terms.
Their journey to their HEA was a fun one. It was filled with a few bumps in their journey and there was a bit of insta going on aka they all had that “feeling” towards each other, but it all worked for me in the end. They had a flow that had me wanting to spend time with them and the chemistry between them all was intense from the start and I’m real happy with how everything worked out for them.
This was a great addition to the series. There are triggers in this one so readers beware, but while there is a bunch of dark, there is just as much light and heart to balance it out. I will say here that I’m very picky when it comes to menage relationships, so I was a little wary of diving in, but the author made me very happy with how she handled it all. As for the rest of the Heaven’s Guardian’s. I loved catching up with all of them and seeing how each of their relationships have evolved and I cannot wait to get my hands on Demon’s book because that one will be all kinds of crazy!

Maddox aka Angel has a tough past. He loves Jax who works for him MC in their garage but he struggles with how much he can trust that love based on his past abuse.
Jax is all in with Maddox but it’s killing him every time Maddox pulls away. He is losing himself and can’t do it any longer.
Jax and Maddox have always been enough for each other but have enjoyed sharing a woman periodically. Oakley is different though. They both feel an overwhelming need to protect her even though they barely know her.
Oakley’s past is visible and it comes back for her. Jax and Maddox will do whatever it takes to her to prove they will always protect her and love her. She is a missing piece they never knew they were missing.
I loved the relationship between all 3 and would loved to see a novella in the future where Jax’s mom gets her wish of grandchildren. I would love to see both Jax and Maddox’s reaction to a child.
Maddox (Angel) and Jax have a relationship but Jax gets disheartened by Angel always pulling away from him. Maddox has an abusive past and so many inner demons he is trying to overcome. The men meet Oakley, a woman that has scars on the inside and out. They both feel a strong desire for her and to protect. They have shared women before but Oakley is the missing piece of their puzzle. This is a raw, gritty beautiful story of being comfortable with who you are and finding your inner strength and beauty. Looking forward to more books in this series.
This is an amazing 5 star page turner MMF story that had me reading non stop until the last page. I actually Beta read this story. It was perfect from the get go.
Angel and Jax have been on and off in a relationship for years. Oakley is down on her luck and seeks work at their club. This is their story.
It was an addicting and captivating story that kept my undivided attention from the first page to the last. From the first read it was point on and near perfect to my liking. I loved these emotional characters that made me feel so much. It does involve a few scorching hot scenes. Bottomline this is a must read.
This is the 4th book in the series but I think it could be read as a standalone. Told in a multiple POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
I had been waiting to read Angel's story and wow, what a troubled soul he is, he blames himself for things that were out of his control and definitely not his fault and that's why he pushes Jax away, all Jax wants is to love him but he can only take so much, a third party helps them and ......... Yeah, I'm not saying anymore, it would spoil it. Needless to say. I love Angel, I love Jax, I loved this book and i can't wait for Demon's story which is next.
I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion.
It doesn’t matter if you like threesome love stories or not. If you are an MC fan, if you are a Alpha Male fan, if you love the Heavens Guardians.... then you don’t wanna miss this must read. Ashely did amazing with this book. I was very impressed. I’m super proud of her and Develpment of these characters. They are amazing and strong. Such a great read! Now it’s tome for her to give me my Demon! Great writing Ash! Loved it!
This book was such a great read ! I’ve been dying for Angels story having him as my favorite out of the Heavens Guardian I was so thrilled when I found out we got his book and it’s a threesome love triangle and I absolutely love these kind of stories! This is a well written fast paced action filled novel full of steam and heartache and also a story about learning to accept who you are and being comfortable in your own skin . Definitely must read and definite 5 stars from me! Can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us!
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
Refreshing take on beauty is skin - deep & beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I truly enjoyed getting to know Jax, Angel better and their's and Oakley's story.
I liked the relationship between the characters. It was clear there was feelings for one another. Nothing much really happened. The last book in the series is in my opinion the most anticipated one. Hopefully the best one as well. Overall was this a good book.
okay so this was maybe my fav? idrk. i loved the beginning i was in it. but then it became a lot of smut and then after the big event i feel like the end was just convenient to write instead of shocking and great
The perfect addition to the Heaven's Guardians MC series! We got to revisit some of our favorites, while digging deep into Angel's personal life and his relationships. This story had the perfect balance of steamy and serious moments. I sped through this book in one sitting - definitely recommend!
Angel gets a call from his on/off boyfriend Jax, who needs help. He's found a woman in trouble, the kind the club takes care of. Jax knows she needs help. Angel waits a week before showing up. Jax breaks up with him, tired of the on/off bs that Angel keeps putting him through. Both their hearts are broken. Oakley is staying at a woman only shelter, but it's one you have to pay for, and she is out of time and money. Shelly talks her into reapplying at Corrupted and rents a room to her. Oakley likes both men. She's been out to coffee with Jax and shared a drink with Angel. Jax picks up on Angel's lust for her. But so does Malcolm, and he's a problem. When Jax and Angel find out who she really is, they realize Malcolm is only a small problem. Her past could kill them all.
Why the heck didn't Angel make the call for the vote for Malcolm after the tripping incident? After the "lightness" of the previous book, this one returns with a double dose of dark.
3.5 stars. I read this as a standalone with very few issues, if anyone just wants a good MFM mafia book without having to read all the others in the series.
I, on the surface, really liked this book. It took me just over an afternoon to read it, and it was fast paced and entertaining. All three characters are really sweet and easy to like, and the spice scenes are satisfying and equal opportunity. A really good MFM portrayal, with a bonus MM scene as well.
However, I had a few issues that didn't make it a full four stars for me. There are several plot lines (no spoilers) that just abruptly end, as if the author just got sick of writing about it. Also, this was noted in several other reviews, some of the other pacing is WEIRD. There is a fade to black scene at a critical moment, meaning we see the characters as flirty acquaintances who overnight are living together and saying they'll be each others forevers. I had to page backwards and make sure I didn't miss a whole chapter. Also, it's 100% insta-love, so if that annoys you, just be aware.
This is the only book I've read from the series. And I won't be reading another.
From what I've read it wasn't a terrible book, but it's not one I'd reread either. I really wanted to give it 2.5 stars but that's not an option so I rounded down. It was short and sweet. Because of that it was a bit more fast paced and usually I don't mind. However the way Oakley got with them and just shared her secret happened at an alarming rate. There wasn't any actual build up. All three of them just kinda got together all of a sudden.
Not bad, but definitely not good either. I get why people could love this book tho in my opinion it doesn't deserve more than 2⭐. Some love the insta love, I love a good slow burn but that didn't even felt like an insta love. Everything happens in what feels like not even 2 weeks. And how their love progress is just unbelievable. I wasn't waiting or expecting anything with this book but I was still disappointed.
This has the potential to be a good storyline but I didn’t get much character development between them. There were also a few places in the book where I felt there was missing pieces and other parts of the book where I felt like I was reading a completely different book. I think with some editing this could be a good book but not work the $5.
I think that the premise of this book was a lot better than the actual execution. The idea that a woman could start working at a bar, meet a man and fall in love with him and his boyfriend was exciting. The story felt rushed and unrealistic. I had high hopes for this book but in the end, I was disappointed. I would not recommend it!
No no no no no no NO. Simply no. I’m done with this series, I’m not reading demons book. This was the first MC series I read at the beginning of my trip and it’s also the worst series I’ve read if I’m being honest.
