So you think you know all there is to know about SEX, well I have been well schooled. This 260-pager will make you think differently about all things sex and sexual and sensuality. From consent to relationshipping differently to introducing new things, making a banging sex video, booty calling especially in these social distancing times, BDSM, threesomes or more somes, snacking (food for the soul and body😋), polyamory, and my best chapter so far, Relationship Anarchy.
I had so much happiness in my belly reading this. I especially enjoyed the chapter on the art of sending nudes and how to make a sex video. More than them being total crackers, they were educational. I learnt so much from them that I WILL NOT BE SENDING NUDES OR MAKE A SEX TAPE ON MY PHONE ANYTIME SOON...OR AT ALL!! The two chapters on "Sex Work" were such an eye-opener and busted most of the myths around sex work for me. Found them very empowering.
I loved the conversational style of this book and it has such an easy flow to it. The chapters bled into each other which left me with a huge smile plastered all over my face that my jowls hurt. There was a community- feel around this book and I am proud that Tiffany reached out within her community when putting this delicious guide together. It takes someone mature and comfortable in their skin and talents to reach out like that. Rally her mates around towards a bigger goal.

Everyone who grew up with either Lahaye’s ‘The act of marriage’ and/or secretly obtained porn as only source of sexual wisdom, will probably find this book a welcome breath of fresh air on the subject. The author is outspoken, amusing and has no filters, but that is exactly what is required when producing a book like this.
The book is very clear on one thing: consent is essential. And children, animals and corpses are unable to provide informed consent. Subjects are relevant and diverse: getting STD tested; crotch exercises; sexual health; toys; orgasms; anal sex; threesomes; mixing food and sex; pornography; sex workers; sexuality and gender labels, to name a few.
The author did not work in isolation; input was obtained from a medical doctor; a black queer feminist activist; an expert in media studies; a communications professional and a human rights activist. The author is the co-founder and curator of HOLAAfrica, a Pan-Africanist hub that advocates for and tackles issues surrounding African female sexuality.
The book will not be appreciated by everyone and is recommended for open minded readers realizing that their definitions are not the only ones out there.

If Dr T is the mom giving you the low down on all things sexual health, pleasure & rights then Tiffany Kagure Mugo's is that aunty. The aunty you go to ask anything & everything sex. You go to her because she makes you comfortable & because she'll answer you honestly & enthusiastically.
I absolutely had a ball reading Mugo's guide to great sex. Her humour really made me comfortable & I approached sex in such a different way. I learned that communication, lube, practice & safety are necessary pillars to having great sex. I loved how she divided the chapters in bite sizes that were so informative & invited experts to contribute on specific sections she wasn't as clued up in.
My only critique with this guide is I wish Mugo had dedicated a chapter on how to give good cunniligus & I wish some sections had diagrams - I mean sex is also visual.
Besides this, it is as it's says - A Quick Quirky Guide to Having Great Sex. Definitely a great companion read to Dr T's Guide to Sexual Health & Pleasure.
It really is an aptly named book: it’s short, easy to read, has amazing tools, and manages to be quite comprehensive. Would recommend for everyone, and I think it would also help if you’re trying to dispense useful information for the young adults and curious teens in your life.
