This was a fantastic listen; it's well-composed and quite engaging. I very much welcomed Grace Hamilton's unique approach to the EMP genre and the premise. Power grids are destroyed, and people are severely impacted, behaving erratically and violently. The primary basis of the storyline is survival, following a group of survivors and their efforts to make it in a new and hostile post-EMP world. The storyline is thrilling, intense, and action-packed, wrapped in revenge, slavery, vicious antagonists, secrets, difficult decisions, and unexpected twists. The ending was great, questions are answered, and everything wrapped up perfectly.
Considering the assortment of characters, I thought the character development was brilliant. The primary cast is well-rounded and relatable, and I was intrigued from the get-go. The interactions were natural, and the dialogue was a smooth flow. Additionally, the narration was spot-on. Matt Weight's performance was exceptional, portraying the characters, emotions, and suspense flawlessly. All in all, I really enjoyed the Supernova EMP box-set; it was definitely worth the listen, one I'll strongly recommend.
